  • Kelly - you're wonderful! Thank you so much for this really important reminder :) I wish all my mama friends would read it!!!
  • I take GAIA Lactate Support (you can get it on amazon and in some grocery stores). It includes fenugreek, blessed thistle, marshmallow root, and other herbs that can help with supply.
  • I'm 28, female, 5'6, and 235ish and I eat 2500 calories a day to lose weight. So no, it's not crazy!
  • Ooooh I re-read this "After all, why wouldn't you prefer nursing your sweet baby to contortionist moves with a moo-ing machine? " and hope you know I wasn't actually asking the question, but just saying that of course nursing is more fun than pumping, so it's more productive :) I would have done the same thing if Camden…
  • my son is 8 months and mine has been trying to come back (spotting off and on for weeks)...however, I have the mirena, so I'm not really sure what to expect :)
  • In all honesty, pumping is a HUGE mental game. I pump 3-4 times while at work and it completely depends on what's going on with my head, which controls hormones and milk flow. You've got plenty of milk! Joseph is growing so well and he's a happy baby. But, when you go to pump once a week, you're probably stressing your…
  • Hey Jenny - that's a really good idea. We've always operated on the "let me know when you want to visit" idea, and generally we take turns every 3-4 months and travel to spend the weekend with the other. She lives in a house with two other girls and two big dogs, so I'm not comfortable taking Camden to visit her. I can't…
  • Thanks y'all! I think I needed a little vent :). A complicating factor I failed to mention is that she lives 4 hours away. I've seen her once in the 8 months since Camden was born! I will read that article now :)
  • I started taking it last week and haven't noticed that I've been extra hungry or that it's interfered with weight loss. The only way I'd think it would make you more hungry is that you're making so much more milk!
  • Some other logistics to consider - most nannys will have vacation days, so what happens if all the vacation days fall on your days and you're always having to find other care when the other mom won't, but yet you're paying the same amount? What if one of you decides the nanny isn't working out for your family - what does…
  • EBF here and I eat 2500 and am losing...my goal is to eat as much as I can while still continuing weight loss. No need to be hungry or affect supply!
  • My son wouldn't nap in his crib until he was about 5 months old...prior to that, it was swing, bouncy chair, or on one of us! He just needed that closeness to fall asleep during the day, and we let him. It didn't ruin him and he takes great naps in his crib now (he's 7.5 months old). Hang in there!
  • Hey everyone! I'm on day 6 and am feeling great. I'm nervous that I'll wake up tomorrow and be ravenous and want to eat everything imaginable - is this phase coming? I was eating pretty terribly before I started Whole30 and haven't had a hard time adjusting thus far, thankfully! How's everyone else feeling who has already…
  • I'm planning to start this Sunday!
  • one last call for anyone who might be interested :)
  • Jillsie - any progress? I'll echo what the others have said regarding increasing demand to help increase your supply. Also, my LC suggested GAIA's lactation support supplement (you can get it on Amazon), and it's helped me! My LC also said that drinking too much water can dilute your hormones, which can lower supply, so…
  • pre-pregnancy: 207 day of delivery: 252 2 weeks pp: 231 7 months pp: 235 (yeah, not a typo, unfortunately). I'm EBF my babe and eating like crap, so I'm still 28 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight and still have much more to go after that. I'm starting Whole30 on 9/1 to break the sugar addiction, so I hope I have a better…
  • I chose a short workout program with a schedule that would help keep me on track (Jillian Michaels Body Revolution - each DVD is 30-35 minutes and it's 12 weeks). I also work and refuse to be away from my son any more than I have to. My husband washes/sterilizes bottles/pump parts and cleans up dinner after I put our son…
  • I feel like we've just recently gotten into a better routine...I wake up at 5AM because I work 7-5. Once I'm done pumping at work (probably 6-8 more months), I plan to exercise on my lunch break like I used to - but until then, I have to fit it in at night. I refuse to give up a minute with my baby because I don't see him…
  • My son is 6 months old today and I feel like just recently have I gotten into a better routine. Sunday morning before church I sit down and plan out dinner for the week - lunch is always leftovers. After church, we grocery shop and do any prepping necessary for the week. We are both being furloughed starting in September…

  • I got a few nursing tanks from Target - Bravado I think, and they were around $25 each maybe? I've been wearing them for 6 months and like them!
  • You will be getting tons of exercise walking around those days! Just pick good protein options at restaurants and steer clear of the bread before your meal, liquid calories, and dessert afterwards. Drink plenty of water because it will be HOT! And enjoy yourself! Don't go crazy with the calorie counting - just make good…

  • My son is 4.5 months and weighs 15.5lbs!
  • I would just get upset if someone wanted to talk to me about my weight. In fact, a co-worker mentioned it years ago and I've never forgotten the shameful feeling I had that day. It's not like I didn't know I was gaining weight, but to have someone point it out really hurt. With that said, it's great you care enough about…
  • Gained 44, lost 19 in first two weeks and nothing since (6weeks pp). I haven't been eating very well, though, but I'm working on it
  • We use it a few times a week! Works really well - Camden doesn't love it, but doesn't hate it either.
