I try to run with nothing on my stomach unless it's a long run. So I usually have chocolate milk right when I finish then a meal shortly after. I try to eat smaller portions about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. So it's usually not a big meal.

I think my body performs best mid morning for cardio exercise and late morning for strength training. I can get up at 4:30 or 5:30 am for a race, or 6:30 on the weekend for a nice bike ride or trail run; but I cannot get out of bed at 7:00 Monday through Friday to get to work on time!

That or you're in bed at 10 on Friday or Saturday night because you have a race or run the next morning.
