Also interested. Hello everyone.

I'm not much of a snacker, likely because I don't keep that kinda stuff in the house and I don't like most chocolate or sweets. The one thing that I always have in the house is Nutella, and I just eat it a spoon at a time. I suppose I'd also be a chips/Cheetos person if I actually bought the stuff and white cheddar…

Alli is supposed to help train you not to eat too much fat in your diet, and the negative side effects are essentially your consequence for doing so. It is similar in concept to some medications that are given to alcoholics that will make them violently ill and throwing up if they consume alcohol. If you stay within the…

Because there are people who have done it without crash dieting. Diet is one part of the equation that helps you reduce calories. The other part is how much energy output. As I said, it is difficult but not impossible. I have seen it done many times in the gym and with my SO who is an M.D. as well as a bodybuilder. If you…

It is indeed an ambitious goal, but certainly not impossible, just very difficult to do. I would highly recommend that you focus on the body you want more than the scale number. Having said that I would recommend that you do some strength training and so even if you don't hit that 130, your body will look closer to what…

This is new to me. I too would think pregnancy before a diet. The only time I was ever emotional was right after a breakup; I cried during a cool-down in both the aqua Zumba and dance class, and the once when I went to a yoga class and didn't realize it was a pregnancy yoga class (I was baby hungry). If you aren't pregnant…

It is likely too few calories, but depending on what type of food you're eating you could also be fatigued. Lower-carb diets will initially give you this fatigued feeling but eventually will pass.

I spent some of my childhood overseas and soda was considered a special 'treat' that you'd only have during a celebration or if guests came over. It was only when we moved back to the U.S. did I become addicted to it because it was cheap and literally flowed in fountains! Then I became serious about losing weight and my…

It can be discouraging but at least you're seeing results and IMO the best kind! I think it is important to ask yourself or consider the weight you want vs. the body you want. Often people who build muscle look smaller while weighing more than those who weigh less but have no muscle - all about body composition (Ross AH…

Yuck Guacamole

Steamed veggies with either grilled chicken or baked fish (Hakeye, Salmon, Tilapia, Cod). I also enjoy boiled eggs in the morning or for a snack. Tuna in olive oil with harissa, some black or green olives, and hummus. Sauteed ground turkey, spianch, and feta. Or pretty much topping grilled chicken with random things like…

BTW I did ask my SO, who is a surgeon, and that was his recommendation. He said being that you're 29, and by the looks of your before and after photos, it is unlikely you'd need the surgical route. The best option again is time and some lean muscle mass.
-
It really depends on the extent, duration of being stretched, location, and where on the body. You can improve the appearance by increasing muscle mass and keeping your skin hydrated. It can take upwards of 2 years before the skin will completely stop tightening, assuming you aren't re-stretching or losing more. However,…

Thank you!

I don't think your thighs are huge at all. As many have mentioned you may want to strength train and continue to build muscle. In the process of doing this, the muscle underneath may make your thighs look bigger (temporarily), but once the remaining fat around your thighs come off they'll look lean. If you have been…

My first inclination would be that you are suffering from something called the Ketosis Flu . This is often most severe with people who go on low-carb diets. With this 'flu' your thoughts will be feel foggy and you'll experience headaches, fatigue, nausea, and a few other symptoms. This flu is essentially the transition…

I understand the underlining meaning of the message ; stop wishing to essentially be someone else, and to own your body for what it is. I think it is a great message. However (you knew that was coming), 'wishing' or envying another persons attributes can serve as a motivator for others. Hopefully, they'll take the steps to…

Awesome NSV!

Strength training will help a lot with it. But in truth there are too many variables to determine how your body will react when you're done. Allowing enough time for your skin to 'bounce' back enough and then giving some muscle for your skin to attach to will help.

Skinny fat really isn't about a 'muffin top' or anything like that. It is the idea that you can be thin and still be unhealthy. People associate being overweight with being unhealthy and being skinny as the picture of health (as if there aren't people who are skinny and mostly composed of fat). The reality is there are…

Gorgeous. Great face transformation! The brunette color is really striking on you!

Wow I can't believe this thread is still active from 2011!! I think I may have posted on it back then too! I'm 5'9 and I actually love being this height! As mentioned in the intro of OP, being this height has it's own uniqueness when it comes to weight-loss.While I can 'hide' a lot of weight because of my height, it also…

Awesome job! You're gorgeous either way!

Wow. Great major! My first day of lecture, I was told NEVER to tell anyone that you're a Dr. or Psychiatrist (especially on an airplane)! My guess is that you telling people in MFP that this is your major is akin to that. lol
-
I was on MFP several years ago and can honestly say the success of losing over 100lbs was because of MFP and the MFP community. Unfortunately, I went off and did school and now coming up on Grad. school and ended up gaining weight! So, here I am again for round-two and learning how to balance it all! Feel free to add me. :)

Focus on smaller goals and not the entire 100lbs. I found that if I tell myself I wanna look 10lbs by x time then it doesn't seem as overwhelming when you're in it for the long haul. I also find that if I have a craving for something, I'll try to find a healthier version first, but if the craving returns then I just eat…

I'm in it for a long haul as well. I sent a friend request. :)
