Sounds like what I would do. Being a couple hundred calories to the positive or negative for one day isn't going to kill you.

Here is my thing, I am not on a diet. I am committed to living a healthier lifestyle. I tried for too long to be on a diet, killing myself and never eating what I wanted. After a while I would get tired of it and go on a 2-3 week binge and gain all the weight I had spent the previous 2-3 months losing. I realized that this…

I think the bigger issue with drinking while you are trying to lose weight is that it lowers your inhibitions and you might be more likely to snack. I know when I start drinking I end up eating as well.

Liquor (like rum, tequila, whiskey) has around 70 calories per ounce. I think you get more bang for your buck versus beer or wine drinking liquor. I like a Coke Zero and Jack Daniels my self.

I always weigh first thing in the morning before I have had anything to eat or drink. If I weighed after my workout I would have picked up some water weight.

When I have a craving for something, I eat it. This is a lifestyle, not a sprint. I am not trying to never eat anything I want to eat again, so it doesn't make much sense for me to not enjoy the food I want. With the help of MFP, I make sure to account for those calories and move on.

I don't have any money to treat myself to anything so I gave up on mini-goals.
-
I usually eat half back, but I pace it throughout the day. Protein shake right after workout, peanut butter sandwich, stuff like that throughout the day. There is no way I could just cram 1000 extra calories at the end of the day,

I know two people who had lap band surgery, both lost over 100 lbs and then gained it all back.

Something I have learned in all of this weight loss that I have attempted is that you have to totally change your mind set. I started trying to lose weight when I weighed 275 lbs. I did a low carb program (Lindora) and lost 60 lbs over 2 cycles (I think they are 10 weeks each). When I ended the program I was 215 and gained…

When I was first doing C25k I was over doing it and had to slow down. If you can't slow down without walking, then yes I would think you should repeat the week until you can at least jog at a slow pace.

There are very very fit people that still have cellulite. It is about your genetics. http://acefitness.infopop.net/3/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=799290654&f=4852980327&m=1082941457

I agree with the calories in and calories out thing. Sometimes I hit my ratio and sometimes I don't. If I know I am going to have a high calorie meal, I take it easy the rest of the day. The difference between now and before is that when I had a not healthy meal for dinner, I had also had one for lunch and breakfast and…

Oreos for me.
-
I do it with bananas and maybe a splenda.
-
I love bananas. I will do a banana and peanut butter sandwich on my heavy workout days; it tastes great, has a good amount of carbs, and leaves me full for quite some time. My house (2 adults, 3 children) goes through 4 or so bushels a week.

You might not be eating enough. If you are under 1200 net calories a day your body can shut down your metabolism.
-
Awesome results if you work as hard as you can. It is kind of refreshing to have a workout DVD where even the actors are struggling to keep up and look as spent as you at the end.

Another c25k graduate here. When I started I could hardly do the 60 second jog, but I finished it and progressed on to the one hour runner program. The thing I learned after starting and stopping several times was that I was trying to run too fast when I started and this resulted in injury and frustration. I learned to…

If I can juice a chicken sandwich or something then I am down. I have always thought about trying a juice fast, even for just a week, but feel like I would have no energy to get through my workouts. How is the energy level?

Your net should be at your goal calories if you have eaten all your exercise calories (I think).

Not sure where you are located, but Big 5 has some Polar ones for sale. I also got my Timex one there.

To motivate myself through p90x, and now Insanity, I printed out a picture of me at my heaviest and put it on my bathroom mirror so every time I am in there I can look at how I looked before I decided to make myself get healthy. It is a good reminder of what I am doing. Only you can decide if you have the will power to…

I have a couple of these. Who would have known that an egg mcmuffin is actually not a bad breakfast (aside from the sodium) compared to most other fast food breakfast offerings. I think these books are great to open your eyes at all the places you can save calories/fat.
-
I think the best way would be with a hrm, that's how I started figuring mine out doing Insanity. I found I was burning much more than I was accounting for using the "high impact aerobics" entry.
-
meh, whatever works for you. If not eating after 7 helps you stay within your calories, then so be it. I subscribe to the "a calorie is a calorie" method of thought.
-
I think you will notice more of a difference as you work out and become more toned.
-
I have a timex model with the chest strap. I have done manual measurements of my HR (by counting the pulses in my neck) and it is pretty close. I know I worked my butt of working out, but 800 more calories is a ton for me who is only supposed to have about 1700 per day. Trying to just incorporate more lean protein as the…

Good read. I don't know of any other way to keep measure, so I guess the scale will tell me. Thanks.

A good combination of cardio and weight training is essential to the best overall health and weight loss. The more cardio you do, the more calories you are burning during your workout; the more lifting you do, the more calories are burned by you doing nothing. If you are lifting you also don't run the risk of losing as…
