PLAN AHEAD. I read the grocery ads & decide my weekly menu by what's on sale. If you have time on the weekend, that would be a good time to make a few meals for the upcoming week. Today I'm making taco meat & sloppy joes to freeze - 93% lean hamburger was on sale. It takes a little work to plan ahead for me because being…

Hello & welcome! You're gonna love it here. Good luck on your journey - feel free to add me. :)

I log the 30 Day Shred as a 20 minute circuit training. Oh, my. Just started it & I am sore - but it's a good sore. :)

Hot diggidy dog! Congrats! :)

Welcome! Great story & a good reason to get healthy: more years with your new love! Feel free to add me, we're about the same age. :)

Congrats on reaching Level 2! I'm feeling my level 1 workout, just started today. I put it under circuit training too. I had read that others are doing that also. How long did it take you to reach the next level?

It's very easy & as someone pointed out, if it's difficult you can repeat that day until you're ready to move on. It's not like you have to run a certain distance in a certain amount of time. You're competing against yourself only. What do you have to lose? The app is cheap. Good luck! P.S. Hope you invest in a VERY good…

This is exactly what I'm looking for - a challenge! I'm becoming unmotivated. Does the "30" represent 30 minutes a day or is it representing 30 days/month? Count me in.

Make your health & exercise a priority and it WILL happen. I have a full work schedule too. Last night I was home by 8:30PM, so a 13 hour day for me. I went for a quick 25 min jog because that's all I felt I could muster. But that is better than doing nothing. Fit in your exercise time when you can. Keep your expectations…

LOL - are you sorry you asked?! It is good on anything you like or just by itself. It spreads real easy.

Always glad to see women, and men, closer to my age on MFP! Feel free to add me too. Good luck!

YES! "What good are cats? You can't milk them or gather their fur?" And the nerds always get the girls! Remember the NYC nightclub scene? :)
-
YES! YES! YES! I still watch it on youtube - hilarious & clever. Wish my mind worked like theirs sometime. :)

Seriously...I can't resist. Of course I run through puddles after it rains too. :)

Good luck! You have some very do-able guidelines laid out for yourself. I work in an elementary school & the food treats brought in from our talented staff & parents is always a huge temptation for me. Last year I avoided the teachers lounge as much as I could. Having snacks handy is a great idea, I think I'll try that as…

I thought your post was written by me! We're the same age. Yay us! I think the fact that we're older, we don't always WANT to deprive ourselves of something we want, like a great piece of chocolate. We know life is short. BUT we also want to be healthy so if you're happy & healthy where you're at right now...who cares?!…

Hi - I am also over 50 & needed to get my weight under control before meno hit. I lost 25# over a year ago & am trying to lose 5 more & keep it off. MFP has helped me to really think about what I put in my mouth. Like Txfiestagirl, I also work in a school. That means scones, donuts & treats delivered to the teachers lounge…

Those are the same people that just "hate you" because you are losing weight. As if it freakin' went away on its own without any effort or work. Whatever. lol

Oh my gosh! You look fantastic! (btw, I work at a school too - summer has gone waaaay to fast, huh?!)

Wow, my dear. You are amazing...and a survivor! One thing I read on MFP was that you can have excuses or you can have results. You can't have both. You're starting to shed the weight of your past failures & moving on! You're on your way! I can hardly wait to see what life has in store for you with your new 'tude! Good…

Love it! Sounds like a fun loving family you have. :-D

"8. You should be taking a GOOD multivitamin and fish oil. Fish oil has more "magical" properties than you think as the benefits of it are amazing." What is so amazing about fish oil?? I do take a vitamin, should I add fish oil?

Good luck! I'm trying to lose my last 5# too, after losing 25# last year. MFP has been a huge help - use it! :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Stonyfield Oikos organic Greek yogurt w/ chocolate on the bottom. One container is 110 calories & 10g of protein. I eat it as a dessert. Love these other ideas though. I'll have to try some of them.

Great recipes on here! I'll have to try a few. I'm cooking for 5 so I saute five chicken breasts in a little canola oil, sprinkle with pepper. Brown on both sides for about 5 minutes & then remove from skillet. Add a medium sliced onion to the skillet & cook until softened (about 3 minutes) & then add 2-3 peeled, cored &…
