I do more 5K's than halfs just because of the time it takes to prepare for a half... I like to have 5K's throught the year just to keep me motivated to stay in shape.

Sorry but I'm just not seeing the "sad" in this story.. She did what she wanted to right up to the end. Didn't wither away in a hospital bed somewhere hooked up to an IV listening to the drip & wondering if she'd hear the next one or not.. That'd be sad.

All the above is exactly what I've found works for me.. Only comment I'd add is that when it's in the 30's I switch from cotton to a medium weight wool sox. Have fun! Just watch your footing if the roads are icy or snow covered.

I wear Under Armor tights when it starts getting into the low 40's.. Running shorts over them to help give me a little wind break.

Because I know from experience that A+D first ointment is the best thing to keep my nipples from chafing raw when I run longish distances..
