I remember my first 5K so I know the feeling once you have completed it - good for you!! When is your next one :)

My question is - are you eating enough throughout the day? If you are chronically undereating it could cause you to binge at night. Figure out your TDEE - 20% and make sure you are eating enough calories.

I overexercised for far too long which led to a huge calorie deficit for me - once I cut back on exercise all of the 50 pounds I lost quickly came back. I now know why - why so many people yo yo. We create way too much of a deficit and when we try to eat "normal" our body freaks out and holds onto all of the calories we…

This I have a friend who probably eats less than 1,000 every day and wonders why she can't lose weight...

Today I did 1 set of 20 and 2 more sets of 15 on the toe push ups :)

Because of so many people using the machines they generally are inaccurate. I have found that the HRM is pretty good at tracking calorie burns and I also find it similar to what MFP says for me.

I turn 40 in 2 weeks - feel free to add me!

You want to challenge yourself - think about how much your purse weighs, or the grocery bags you carry in the house. If they are more than 10-12 pounds, start heavier.

I lost a lot of weight by working out too much and eating too little - and gained it all back and found it so much harder this time around to get the weight off. I even had a trainer tell me that I was losing it to fast and I would gain it back but I didn't believe her at the time. Oh and I couldn't figure out why I wasn't…

Yes. I tend to leave a few extra every day so I can have a treat or 2 on the weekends.

I personally like cocoa pebbles...i also am allergic to gluten so limited in cereal choices.

awesome feeling! keep up the good work!!

This will ruin your metabolism and you will gain all the weight back that you lose. If that is what you are looking to do, then this will work. If you want to keep the weight off, listen to the other people here - they know what they are talking about.

Same happened to me when I lost a lot of weight - was like a 44DD, ended up a 36H. Had a reduction :)

You will do awesome!! I remember my first 5K - I thought I would be the slowest one there, the heaviest one there, I'm going to be last to finish...and I was none of those! We are our own worse enemy. And as LorinaLynn said - if you can get through a run/walk in the cold/snow you can do it in any weather! I used to walk…

Agree that classes are much more fun than walking/running on a treadmill or spending countless minutes on the elliptical. Although I do wish most classes were a bit shorter than a full 60 minutes as is the case at my gym... However keep in mind - if there is a Zombie Apocalypse you want to be able to run from he zombies!!…

That is awesome! I finished a 1/2 marathon just over a year ago...not sure I'm up to doing another one. But I did go for a run/walk yesterday for the first time in a long time outside and it felt great!! Maybe I'll be running again too....

However, those of us that do a 60 min kickboxing class after lifting some heavy weights have burned enough that we can eat those exercise caloires. I did that - ate too little and exercised way too much and lost tons of weight. The problem? Once I couldn't keep up the 2+ hours of exercise a day I gained all of the weight…

Love this idea! This is why I go to these boards...thanks!

Best advice I've seen so far...don't worry about what other people have to say (including dad) - just get stuff done and make them eat their words. Good luck!!

I had issues with sleeping for a very long time...took drugs to help me sleep and then drank tons of caffeine every day to help me wake up. I finally saw a naturopathic doctor and I think 2 things helped me - she put me on a supplement to help regulate my cortisol levels to help me sleep. She also diagnosed my under active…

Agree with earlier posts - HRM is best way to go. However, I have found the calorie burns listed on MFP to be very close ot my HRM.

Love Chalene and the music. I teach the gym version, Turbo Kick. If you love music and want to feel strong you will love it! Good luck!
-
Awesome work! I've been there before so I know how good it feels. I'll post when I have hit the same milestone!!
-
Give the gym another shot - 99% of the people there are focused on their own workout. I love the commraderie that builds with members of classes ;)

Both! I love Turbo Kick class and as an instructor I have access to all the workouts so if there is no class at the gym and I want to get a work out in I just pop in a CD. For weights, I prefer the gym because I have access to the heavier stuff there.
