I spent the weekend at a lovely yoga farm in the middle of nowhere, and it was so relaxing! But today, back to the lifts! Squats- 2x5 @ 45, 2x5 @ 65, 5x5 @ 95 (These felt good! I can't believe I'll be in the triple digits next time!) Bench Press - 5x5 @ 55 (I'm for reals buying fractional plates for both these and OHP. I…

B Workout for me today: Squats- 2x5 @ 45, 5x5 @ 90 (These felt good!) Overhead Press- 5x5 @ 50 (I am going to get some fractional plates. Until then, I think I'm only going to increase one more time to 55.) Deadlift- 1x5 @ 105 Heading to hot yoga later, which I definitely need! It's a flex class that really gets into hips…

I went in for a lunch time workout today. I'm also switching up my days this week to MWF because I'm heading to a yoga retreat for the weekend. Squat: 2x5 @ 45, 5x5 @ 85 (Um, I apparently can't do math. I was so confident what my weight should be that I didn't look at the bar calculator. I was only supposed to do 75, which…

Back in the gym this morning with Workout B: Squats - 5x5 85lbs - Overhead Press- 3/5/4/5/3 65lbs. These were real ugly. I had a feeling with how difficult 60lbs was last week that 65 would be the end of the road for the moment. I may try waiting 5 minutes between each set (including post warm up). As you can see, after 5…

Thank you for the welcome! Ugh, I hurt myself today. My husband and I went to the gym together this morning. There was a guy in the squat rack, and when I asked how long he would be, he was "just getting started". He spent the whole time we were there hogging up a couple of things people wanted to use while he grunted,…

Soy is actually really harmful to the thyroid, so it is good practice to just avoid it as much as possible. I will also be honest and say that the elimination was not as hard as I thought it would be. I like smoothies for breakfast, and then I really just focus on a protein, a healthy fat, and a veggie at my other meals.…

My nutritionist recommends 35-50g of fiber a day, and I don't have any issues. Breakfast- Smoothie. I pack it full of brown rice protein powder, a scoop of Green Superfood, chia and flax seeds, coconut oil, almond milk, and usually 1/2 a banana and a scoop of cocoa powder. Lunch- Chicken Rice Vegetable Soup with Coconut…

I'm also in the bay! I live in Fremont and work in SJ! I have hypothyroidism caused by Hashimoto's. I went to see a holistic nutritionist in December, and she immediately suggested that I do a 30 day elimination of gluten, dairy, corn, soy, eggs, and nightshades to test for food intolerances. We decided from the beginning…

Breakfast- I start every day with a smoothie. I pack it full of brown rice protein powder, a scoop of Green Superfood, chia and flax seeds, coconut oil, almond milk, and usually 1/2 a banana and a scoop of cocoa powder. Lunch- I cook different soups and stews in batches over the weekend to freeze into individual portions.…

Another thing to consider is how many nightshades you consume. I did a 30 day elimination diet to check from some food intolerances. Nightshades are very inflammatory for arthritis, and the day after testing them, I had terrible knee pain. When I did the elimination, I had no knee issues, and since I tested them and…

This for sure... I did an allergen elimination diet with a nutritionist. For 30 days, I did not have gluten, dairy, corn, soy, eggs, or nightshades. I'm not done testing, but I am totally intolerant to eggs so far.

I'm on week 4, and I love it! I'm not following the diet portion, as I'm working with a nutritionist, but I'm working my tail off in the gym! I've lost body fat and inches already, and it's been amazing to see how much strength I've gained. I start the cardio phase next week, and I'm looking forward to it!

I'm another one that makes my significant other hide it from me. I've actually decided that I'm not going to get on it until January 1st. I'm going to spend the next two months eating what I know I should eat and moving like I know I should be moving, WITHOUT the scale affecting my mood about it. We'll see how it goes :)
