so much fiber!... does that not cause, er.... other 'issues'???
My nutritionist recommends 35-50g of fiber a day, and I don't have any issues.
Breakfast- Smoothie. I pack it full of brown rice protein powder, a scoop of Green Superfood, chia and flax seeds, coconut oil, almond milk, and usually 1/2 a banana and a scoop of cocoa powder.
Lunch- Chicken Rice Vegetable Soup with Coconut Milk and some sliced turkey with hummus
Snack before the gym- An apple and some raw cashews
Dinner- Grilled steak and roasted broccoli0 -
I've adjusted fairly well to not having any bread substitutes. If I want a burger I just eat it without a bun. Udi's French Rolls are the best for a craving!!
Homemade is the easiest way to go for me...
Breakfast: rice chex (lots of variations are gluten free), cocoa pebbles, fruity pebbles, quinoa (just like oatmeal!), eggs, bacon
Lunch/dinner: usually a crock pot dish. chile, bbq chicken (sweet baby rays is gf), stew
Snacks: cottage cheese w/ fresh fruit, homemade trail mix (m&ms, dried cranberries raisins, almonds), greek yogurt, baked lays tostito tortilla chips. popcorn (sometimes I put some ranch seasoning from a ranch dressing packet)
dessert: reese cups! butterfingers! ugh! sometimes I wish they had gluten in them!
if you like to bake then i would recommend arrowhead mills all purpose baking mix. you can use it to make a lot of different things if you just google recipes. you don't have to add expensive things like xantham gum to it.0 -

I honestly haven't changed my eating habits much since going gluten free, I just buy the gluten free breads and pastas and stuff like that. I mainly still have either cereal or yogurt/fruit for breakfast, sandwich or salad for lunch, and whatever we normally have for dinner. The hardest things for me has been cutting out croutons for my salad and that's just because I'm too lazy to actually cook some from the gluten free bread.0

Breakfast: cooked apple with cream, butter, cinnamon, pumpkin seeds and sliced almonds
Lunch: Water
Dinner: Fake chinese takeout chicken floured in tapioca starch, deep fried and rolled around in a sauce flavored with balsamic vinegar (also contained excessive amounts of sesame and olive oil). Jasmine rice and broccoli for sides.
The sauce I personally used wheat flour in but it can be done without it (the original recipe called for arrowroot flour). I'm mostly gluten free by choice.0 -

My typical day is
Greek yogurt with honey/blueberries/pistachio nuts (so yummy with the mix of flavors but be sure the nuts are GF)
or
Scrambled eggs or boiled eggs. I work, so I do them real quick in the morning and have a yummy breakfast.
Deviled eggs are too as a treat
Udi's bagels are the closest to 'real' but are 300 calories of NO nutrition. (funny how my brain is changing:happy: )
Lunch is salad balsamic basil EVOO, protein like chicken/fish/tuna (stopped beef for awhile) Iced tea
Snack is nuts or fruit ( or I must admit Lays plain potato chips :blushing: )
Dinner meat/fish and veggies usually 2 or 3 different kinds, potato or rice
I realize my life is made a bit harder by no tomatoes, especially sauces, lemons and limes at a min. and garlic/onion I have to be careful with.0 -
Breakfast- yogurt, omelettes, GF bread with toast, smoothies
