  • I was so holding it together until THIS *SNORT*
  • That is great :)
  • Always - then during the day I can just edit any changes that happened or put different things in to see what balances my meals the best and what exercise I need to do to have the extra that I want. It's a GREAT tool for me to plan ahead like that. Probably my favorite thing about MFP.
  • It's so so true! I started menopause suddenly about 18 months ago after cancer surgery to remove all my bits and pieces and was not only told I might gain but that it was virtually inevitable. Hog wash I say! I'm about 4 months in and well on my way... no more excuses needed!!
  • I got a really nice nordic track off (I swear to god) a little old lady... in perfect condition. I love it. No point in buying new when you don't have to! Just hold out for a really good one at a fair price. I know you want one NOW but you *can* have a great one at a great price if you spend some time waiting for the right…
  • You're doing great, keep up the good job and I'm looking forward to your 1 year post in January!
  • I'm getting on with what I have to do. I'm eating right and I'm exercising. I'm not overly dramatic about it, I don't feel like my first 25 was very triumphant because to be honest, nobody is really noticing or making any comments yet. But I can just plod along forward until they do, I'm a very patient person. But what I…
  • Warm up before. Stretch after during cool down. And build up to how much you're doing SLOWLY so your body hardly notices how much you're finally doing at a time. Water can't hurt either. My trainer made me start so slow it seemed ridiculous but she assured me she's been doing it a long time and I was going to have to learn…

  • Good one - I just did that today - had a green tea instead and it helped a LOT. Once in a while I have to actually have two green teas in a row, but ya - that gets the job done a lot of the times.
  • Yep. I think the low-glycemic foods will really help with this. Every few weeks I do get a few days in a row where I get something like the munchies out of nowhere and I am GLAD I keep carrots and celery around for such times as that makes it easy to do the right thing.
  • I also get the 3 romaine hearts in the bag. Romaine is extremely good at staying fresh for me and the bag lasts me between 3-5 days because I go thru salads like nobody's business. I made two at a time - big huge plate fulls. The second one gets covered and is perfectly fine the next day for me. I do not remember this ever…
  • Maybe once a month or once every 2 or 3 months at times, I used to have a glass of wine with dinner and then another glass the next night, but wine is a little high in calories for me right now, so I switched to diet tonic and bombay gin as that is only 60 calories... it's just a treat once every month or two though and…
  • I have a high quality whole wheat bread with peanut butter and banana sliced up on it on days I'm working out and on off days I have oatmeal and yoghurt. These breakfasts tide me over real nice until lunch, which is usually a huge salad. Not too exciting, but simple and yummy. Great thread, I will be checking back for more…
  • Yeah - I'd futz the amount until it said 150 maybe - well okay not really - I'd just take the lower one.
  • 3.5 seems really brisk to me and I'm 5'6" - perhaps my legs or my stride is short. I usually log the 3.0 even tho what I really do is 3.3 with 4% incline because there's currently no way to factor in everything I wish I could, such as height, weight, age, heart rate, etc. and even if I could my heart medicine keeps my…
  • If the bike knows your weight, age and heart rate, I'd go with the bike. Otherwise I usually go by about 50% what MFP says for biking as I think the biking amount is screwy as it's way more than the treadmill amount and at least on the treadmill you're on your feet, supporting your weight - so it really doesn't make sense…
  • Great question - never thought about it, but all Summer I was doing: warm up - 10 min cardio - 30 min weights - 30 min cardio - 30 min So I was doing my weights right in the middle sort of. I will change things around for a "change up" for sure and do the weights right after the warm up and see how that goes... sounds good.
  • This summer I had a waffle cone every couple of weeks - but I didn't actually go over my calorie goal to do it. I only went over once and that at a friend's birthday party on the special treat foods. Now that it's Fall I will probably not have waffle cones cuz it's not that hot. Probably I'll have something like hot…
  • Carpentry, general is also in the database...
  • Oh I should say what my actual favorite healthy snack *is* - it's 1/2 cup of frozen berries. My favorite time to have it is 1am as that is when my body thinks it's really fun to have a hot flash and the frozen berries cool me back off so I can get to sleep.
  • I was just saying in another thread how I like this site for being so straight forward and it's fast to use too. The site I started on was like going to the circus with all the colors and STUFF, it was overwhelming and distracting. I never tried WW but now I'm glad I never did - I too had an eating disorder in my 20s where…
  • Wow - one of my exact made-up treats... the PB banana burrito on whole wheat tortilla... hilarious, so exact, right down to the sprinkle of chocolate chips (if my daily goal numbers allow it!)
  • Yep. When that happened to me, I added 200 calories a day and by the end of the week the plateau was history. I went from about 1300 to about 1500 even tho usually I'm closer to 1400. Any time my loss stops for more than a week I bump it back up to 1500 and the problem goes away. I suppose I could just slack off on my…
  • I totally know! I was at another site and it was so full of STUFF - it reminded me of being at the circus! It was all just too MUCH! I love this site, it's straight forward and to the point - exactly!
  • Awesome job. It's amazing what this journey does to the mind isn't it? Not just the body by a long shot. What it does for the mind and our confidence level and making genuine smiles (not the fake kind, we all know about that fake smile girl!)
  • You and your dogs are cutie patooties!
  • One of the best success stories I've read on here ever... fantastic. LOOKING GOOD!
  • I was just telling my DH last week that next summer when I'm at goal (hopefully) I am going to go to DMV and get a new license. BTW I have never been truthful on a driver's license, it will be fun to tell the truth. Maybe the new photo won't look so much like a linebacker, but I'm sure it will still suck, LOL!
  • I know what you mean about it being easier than anticipated. Mostly all you need is a little patience because as long as you stay in your goals on MFP it does work, sooner or later and it just doesn't seem that hard to workout once you get in the habit of doing it... in fact after 4 months I think if I stopped I'd really…
  • I love the way you say "honey" - you are just as cute as can be. Keep up the great work.
