  • I always wash mine in a net-bag (like for lingerie) in cold water in the machine. Seems to work fine!
  • Looks like you worked super hard! Congratulations ^^ I'm curious, how did you measure your body fat % each time?
  • You look amazing, but more than anything, what is especially inspiring is your unfaltering positive attitude. It's so easy for us to get caught up in the hurtful idea that who we are AS PEOPLE is reflected by our size and shape. Thank you for your words and for being an example to us all!
  • Hello everyone! Sorry for my late reply, and thank you so much for your generous responses. I feel much more educated on the matter of BMR/TDEE thanks to all of you ^^ It seems like a pretty inexact science (unless you can shell out the money for a professional evaluation, which would need to be constantly reformulated…
  • Thanks for your reply. I did put in my current weight and that's where I got the number 2234. I got 1917 when I plugged in my goal weight. I'm just not sure what number to use...
  • I'm about 5'3" and live in a foreign country, so feel free to add me if you like ^^
  • I'm running my first half in Sendai, Japan on May 13th :) I'm a bit nervous because my longest run so far has been 13km, but I am working with a training schedule that has me increasing by one mile for every long Saturday run (haha, these days, as an American living in Japan, I am used to thinking in km AND miles!).…
  • I've not heard of BCAA supplements, but after looking them up, I'm not sure I can get my hands on them where I live (Japan). Is there a similar food alternative that you recommend?
  • Thanks for the reply, Cakepiebeer! I would love to refuel with chocolate milk or cottage cheese- two of my absolute most favorite foods in the world- but I live in Japan, and both are hard to come by... Guess I will stick to eggs for now ^_^
  • Yeah, I weigh myself each morning. I was told it's good to get used to it because it speaks to your habits of the past few days as well. But I hadn't thought about weighing myself each morning, yet only logging it in MFP once a week. Maybe I will start doing that!
  • Thanks for the suggestions, natika33! I've considered onigiri for a meal, and counted on them often in the past, but I feel like I don't get enough veggies when I eat them, even if I choose options like takana or konbu. I can also stuff them in my mouth in a few seconds, which doesn't feel like a meal ;_; But I realize…
  • Oh good, this is encouraging! I figured because I can look up the entire nutritional content, that it SEEMS to be a good choice. Since the calories come to no more than 350 per 6" when I eat chicken/turkey, it makes for a satisfying but quick dinner :) I don't know if they have it stateside or elsewhere, but here in Japan…
  • Thanks to everyone for the input! Your suggestions are very encouraging. I HAVE been able to lose weight and feel better despite my sedentary desk job, I just want to make every day as effective as possible. Now that I'm feeling lighter and better, I also want to move MORE, so sitting at a desk is frustrating. I work in an…
  • Congratulations, what an accomplishment! And in 2 1/2 months, thats amazing! You and I have the same stats, so you're quite the inspiration :) I'm nearly to 20 pounds lost in about 7 months, but I can't wait to be able to say 28! And then some, right? Keep up the fantastic progress!
