  • My BMI is around 22. I also use this site: http://www.scientificpsychic.com/fitness/diet.html which measures percentage of body fat, and waist-height ratio and lean body mass. It takes into account your measurements as well as your weight. Based on this site, while my BMI is 22 - right in the middle of normal, my body fat…

  • This morning I cautiously stepped on the scales and was back down to 130.8. What a relief! After reading all the comments, I looked back at my log and was reminded I had curly fries for lunch and sausage gravy and biscuit for supper the day before the spike. Too many carbs and salt.
  • Can you post the link? Thanks!
  • Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your point of view) TOM is not an issue for me.
  • I keep a pottery jar on my desk with Dove dark chocolate in it. One piece satisfies my chocolate craving, and then I am fine.
  • I am noticing that I like a different style of clothing too, now that my shape is different. I look taller (and I am still 5'5"). I even tried on one of my blazers the other day and realized that it looked totally different on me now and I like it a lot better.
  • I have Window Phone app, and when I use the bar code scanner, it shows the same information as what is listed on the package. I rely on that method quite a bit.
  • Thanks for the input. It helps to have confirmation that I am on the right track.
  • You give me hope! I am 51, and have been peri for a couple of years now. However, if menopause is the 12 months, I will reach that mark in October. Maybe then I can sleep without burning up. It would be nice if I could lose some weight a little easier too.
  • Well, after plateauing for several weeks, last week I did quite a bit of reading on these forums and found that I wasn't eating enough - I was only consuming about 1200 total calories. I checked several of the suggested links and found I should be consuming closer to 1700 given my size (5'5", 144 lbs.), activity level (30…
  • I would like to join. This will be my first challenge.
  • Is the 1450 total or net after calculating exercise calories burned?
  • Thanks for the clarification. I knew there was no way I could eat 1900 healthy calories a day. I know it will take some time to get my metabolism straightened out, but I will keep working at it.
  • I have another calorie question. I went to the website indicated in this thread which said I should eat around 1600 calories a day to lose 1 lb. a week. Does this mean I should eat 1600 calories period, or do I need to eat the 1600 plus the calories I burn exercising. I do an ifit workout on the treadmill 5 days a week,…
  • I have been stuck for the past month. I am 51, 5'5" and eating about 1100 calories, plus part of my exercise calories, buring 300-320 and eating 100 to 200 of them. I just checked this website listed, and it indicates I should be eating 1585 to lose 1 lb. a week. I guess I need to eat more. Thanks for the advice. I hope…
