For a really easy, low fat, pizza alternative: buy a whole wheat pita pocket, then top it with your favourite pizza toppings. Sometimes I go with pizza sauce & turkey pepperoni with veggies, a small amount of light mozarella cheese & spices. Other times I use bar-b-q sauce & roasted chicken. It's delicious, and only takes…

If you will be eating out a lot, be sure to get grilled meats, with all sauces on the side. baked potatoes, or even just steamed veggies as sides.... Also - try to do extra walking to burn off a few extra calories!!! GOOD LUCK!! ;)

Best thing to do is cook more things on your own, rather than buying pre-packaged items. Almost everything has salt in it.... just try to keep it under balance. I have no problem staying under, as long as I am not eating out... Can't see your diary, so I can't take a closer look...

Definitely count them! If you are a fruit nut like I am, you would be very surprised how many calories fruit can add up to!! Think of it this way - if you have eaten all of your daily calories, ANY calories above that would be bad (doesn't matter if they come from salad, chips, chocolate or fruit...)

Doc told me before that you could gain when first starting, due to water retention. I personally didn't find it too bad, but it may have slowed me down for a week or two... No sense worrying about though, just stick with what you are doing and watch the pounds melt away... ;)

COMPLETELY agree with you! The winter is always harder for me as well - makes me want more comfort food and hot chocolate! haha ;) Why not make extra at dinner-time so that you have some leftovers for lunches (will only take 1-2 minutes to warm up in the microwave). I made chicken brocolli this week (look up beef broccoli,…

I would definitely try to talk to her about it! She obviously wants to do it if she has joined MFP, and has been paying for WW. I know that's it a tough subject to discuss, and even if it upsets her, it's probably more because she know what she has to do and is scared, more than you talking to her about it. The only thing…

Thanks for the tips! :)

Here's to hoping that the pretending will end very soon!! ;) Best of luck to you on your journey...

One meal in a day does not really matter - what matters is if you are under your calorie goal when the day is finished. I personally find garlic bread too high to eat on a regular basis, and I always find that soup has a LOT of extra salt (so you may find that you can retain water the next day).

^^^ Look for strength training in the cardio section...

Always a great feeling - Keep it up, as all of the hard work is paying off! ;)

50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fat. I know that's probably a HORRIBLE ratio, but I am working harder to lower the carbs these days... I think I am allowed about 160 carbs per day, out of 1270 calories. I think when I go over my max, my body doesn't like it very much, but it probably depends on the types of carbs as well...
-
Can you customize it and say "A few extra pounds, but working on it??" :) Best of luck to you! ;)

Pretty much anything sweet, salty or cheesy... ;( haha

With more reading lately, I have learned that artificial sweetners can often make you even hungrier!! :S I am one who used to drink a few diet pop a day - especially when I was dieting! I have been trying to cut back to a few a week lately, and it's going fairly well! ;) I'm not positive what is correct, or what to…

Exercise if my go-to resort! Or even a nice nature hike... I also LOVE to find new low-cal recipes and cook them! ;) Best question to ask yourself - what do you LOVE to do, but can never seem to find the time??
-
So cute - Congrats! ;)

I'm with you on this one! I log EVERYTHING! It makes me feel like I am being 100% honest to myself, and I am happy to be able to look back and see what I did/didn't eat with weight fluctuation. I figure if you are gonna do it, may as well do it right! ;) Completely personal preference though! In my opinion, if what you are…

I'm only about an hour away in Kitchener... welcome! ;)

You got me - I HAVE to ask... what are you doing with only a teaspoon of cooked rice??

I copy quotes down all the time for encouragement, here's my list: Your stomach is not a waste basket Never limit your challenges, challenge your limits Do or do not. There is no try If it were easy, everyone would do it Nothing tastes as good as SKINNY feels You cannot plough a field by turning it over in your mind Lots…

Hello! You CAN do this - just try to keep your eye on the prize! ;) Feel free to add me if you like..

Go to Reports, then choose Nutrition...

Home-made chicken brocolli (with carrots & sweet onion) over rice.
-
Completely agreed, as this is what mine has done! ;) In my opinion, if you are looking to lose more that just over a pound a week, then exercise! You should not go under your 1200 calories per day either way though...
-
There is NO way that you gained that much in 1 day - as each pound is equal to 3500 calories. You are probably retaining water as I assume your salt content was very high for a cheat day as well... Don't give up - you CAN do this!!
-
Always a great feeling - keep up the hard work, as it always feels great in the end! ;)
-
Definitely YOU that looks better, and not the shirt! ;) Keep up the great work!!!

That's awesome news - keep up the great work!!! :D
