I definitely agree with switching beef for turkey in all places possible. If it is a meal that you really taste the meat, then add 1/4 beef for the flavour. When it comes to veggie-side-meat meal, I usually make myself the chicken and veggie, and then I will add scalloped potatoes or something for my husband...

After working on weight loss for a while, my suggestion is to go out and buy a single cupcake or peice of cake, and try to burn off the calories today/tomorrow if possible. If I make a batch of cupcakes (even low fat ones) when I need a fix, I will end up eating A LOT more calories compared to 1 regular one - and much less…

Have better snacks with you. Raisins/Craisins/other dried fruit are great because they are also sweet! ;) Try nuts...

I choose to not eat them, and lose more weight at the end of the week! ;)

I usually buy salad/lettuce for only a few days, because I find the same thing as you! Once the salad/lettuce is gone, I go for meals with other vegetables. Carrots & brocolli usually last at least a week in my fridge. Also - try frozen veggies - they are frozen immediately to ensure that they keep their nutrients, and do…

I started losing weight for looks and to be healthy. However, now I am just determined to prove to myself (and everyone around me) that I CAN do this and hit my goal! ;) Thanks for reminding me about this - had the worst day yesterday in several months, and definitely needed a butt-kick today...

Take the average??

I'm only 3 pounds away from being overweight as well - for the first time in over 10 years! ;) CONGRATS to you!

Try changing up what you do.... stagger your calories a bit, change the style of workouts, which days, how often, etc... GOOD LUCK!

I'm 27, and married with no kids... However, for all it counts for, I feel that the more you push an unrealistic dating age on a child, the more they will probably try to sneak around. What's the harm of holding hands and sneaking in a few kisses at 11/12? I would personally focuse more on the rules WHILE dating, then just…

Have you looked on their website for ideas: http://www.bentolunch.net/

My first suggestion is that you eat proper foods during the day that help to keep you full for longer... Secondly, try to have food for dinner that is lower in calories, so that you can have a fairly large portion (try fish/chicken, reduce your rice/potato/pasta & add more veggies, etc...) Lastly, DO SOMETHING!! When I am…

When is your official weigh-in day? This may sound strange, but I find that I will often gain when I exercise, until I take a day off. I weigh myself after not working out the day before, and I have lost a few pounds again... Not too sure if it's water, or what it is... Please don't get discouraged though! You KNOW that…

I would suggest to up/change your workouts, and NOT to eat your exercise calories back for a little while. Others will disagree with me I'm sure, but this is only my opinion. Feel free to add me as a friend and check out my diary. It's not perfect by any means, but it may help you out with a few suggestions as least?!?

A lot os PCOSers find it more difficult to lose weight. I was diagnosed about 6 years ago, and definitely have systems of it! However, I have lost 65 pounds total still - And 25 of those were in the last 2 months. Just eat your calories to lose 1 pound per week, and then try to workout 5 days a week, and you WILL see…

Just got one last week - after losing over 60 lbs without one. I don't think it's a MUST HAVE, but it's definitely nice to have! ;) I bought a Polar FT7, and fint it works great so far!

My advice is to just right back in ASAP, and try exercising really hard as well! You CAN make up for the damage that was done! Also, remember that being in a deficit of 500 calories per day actually means a maintain - so you are not doing that bad! I know that I also have my bad weeks. Just try to push through it to the…

You eat a lot of fruits and veggies - which are all low in calories! You also don't seem to eat much in terms of bread/pasta, which is where a lot of calories come from! If you are worried about it, try adding some nuts, dried fruit, etc... Instead of just eating fruit and oatmeal, try making a parfait with yogurt...

They are definitely not cheap, but go out and try to find Vita Tops (they will be in the freezer sections by the healthy stuff). I have found them at Wal-Mart recently as well. They are muffin tops that come in lots of flavours. Chocolate is AMAZING, has 9 grams of fibre, and only 100 calories! Warm it up for 10 seconds…

Nice to meet you Linda! ;) You can feel free to add me for encouragement and accountability! I personally found than an open diary make me feel more accountable as well - just a thought...

Two "treat" options for salads are: 1 - Taco Salad (use ground turkey with taco seasoning, and then top it with salsa, sour cream & even taco strips if you like) 2 - Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad (Rennee's light dressing is good...) I have also fallen in the love with Apple Salad recently: 2 Crisp Apples 2 Tablespoon Raw…

I have never tried it, but my mom always used to say that Mitchum worked really well when she had that problem! Good Luck finding your solution! ;) And NO judgement here - sweat a good thing in my world! haha :D

I'm interested as well! Should the winner be determined on percentage rather than pounds though?!? Friend me...

This is a great program - Good Luck on your journey! ;)

I've considered getting one, but haven't given in yet... Therefore, I have lost a total of 63 pounds to date, WITHOUT a HRM!! ;)
-
Definitely have those days!!! Usually after a higher calorie burn the day before! Try chewing gum for a while, or drinking something (water, diet pop, tea...) Are there any healthy options for you at work?? A packet for soup crackers or anything like that? Any nuts in the vending machine?? GOOD LUCK!

Much thicker, but still a similar taste to regular yogurt. Try vanilla greek yogurt. Or, buy plain and make it into something that you like (add fruit, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, etc...) You can eventually lessen the amount of additions later on...
-
Definitely don't go under 1200 calories! Try greek yogurt for protein, nuts, avacado, olive oil, wheat pasta, dried fruit...

Build you own pizzas on whole wheat pitas. Only takes 15 minutes to cook in the oven Great because everyone can choose what they want! Try turkey pepperoni with tomato sauce, or chicken with bar-b-q sauce!

What about tacos (with ground turkey) for the kids, and taco salad for you (all the same toppings with no shell, on a plate of cut up lettuce! :)
