I did my regular exercise on Thursday and Friday, but I didn't have time to do the challenge exercises, so I did three days' worth of exercises today, and I am now totally sweaty, kinda smelly, but feeling completely awesome! Today, I did: 2 sets of 15 swimmer's presses 3 sets of 21's 40 zigzag hops2 sets of 20…

You are looking great!!! Your hard work is absolutely worth it. :)

Ok... according to your definition of what counts as an exercise minute, I have 1487 exercise minutes so far for August.
-
Having one post per month is better. By the way, to report in for yesterday, I walked 4 mph for 45 minutes.

bump (I'd like to know what you find out!)

I only had time to do my regular exercise tonight (I managed to walk at 4 mph tonight... yay, foot! ) and then I was busy the rest of the night, so I'll double up on my challenges tomorrow. I DID manage to turn down a Peanut Butter Cup flurry tonight, so I don't think I will bother feeling bad about not getting to…

So impressive!! You go! :)

I have heard you shouldn't eat 3 hours before you go to bed, and when I follow that guideline, I always have good results, so I'd say go with it. :)

I have that problem, too, and it's because I have high arches and I was exercising in shoes that were best suited to low arches. My husband has the opposite problem, but it hurts just the same either way. Before you buy exercise shoes, do a bit of research and find out if they're best suited to high arches or low arches,…

Oh, no, KDMallon!! That's awful. I had that earlier this summer and you know what cleared it up? Jewelweed. From what I learned after I got it, jewelweed is nature's only known remedy for poison ivy and if you can find it in an outdoors-type store or a health food store or something like that, it will actually help. I got…

I know... I am REALLY happy Gary put the extra points back into the September challenge. I have the extra-point challenges to thank for my burgeoning rock-hard abs. For today: 20 split squats 3 sets of 20 wood chops 200 jumping jacks (total of 400 for the week so far) 300 crunches (total of 600 for the week so far)
-
For today (of my "real" exercises), I'm adding 43 minutes on the elliptical, 10 minutes calisthenics (that's 300 crunches and 3 sets of wood choppers), 10 minutes high-impact aerobics (that's 200 jumping jacks and 20 split squat jumps).

Wow, that's even smaller than your goal size! You should be very proud! :)

Oops... yup, I did mean 2012. :blushing: Yeah, I love gardening, but I am still just a beginner, really. It's fun because I can make mistakes and then totally redo the whole thing next year and nobody will be any the wiser. :) I also play guitar, but not really well. I'd love to take up the violin or cello someday, but I…

They can't tell you you're not allowed to pick up your kids by walking to get them. They're YOUR kids. What if you didn't have a car at all? I didn't realize having a family car was a prerequisite of attending public school... oh, wait... it's NOT. Just go get your kids on foot and walk home with them. We did that every…

Oh, my gosh, Sharesb!!! No wonder you're losing all that weight! :noway: You're amazing!!!

Oops... John posted this using my account and MFP doesn't give you any way to delete message board posts. Boo! :grumble:

Challenges done for today: 20 globe jumps 60 squat kicks 2 sets of 20 tuck jumps Plus... 300 crunches (for the weekly challenge) 200 jumping jacks (for the weekly challenge)
-
Does this include next Monday/Tuesday as well, or just this week? I will pledge 1,000 extra crunches and 1,000 jumping jacks. I can't promise any extra miles, but if I find I'm able to walk again properly or ride a bike this week, I'll sign up for some extra miles then.
-
You're not a nag! We all signed up for this challenge... nobody forced us to do it. We committed to certain obligations in August, including REPORTING IN TO OUR CAPTAIN once a week with our weights and challenge info. Don't feel bad about having to chase them down... THEY should feel bad for making you chase them. :grumble:

I don't want to eat as much as I normally would for Thanksgiving because I just don't want to eat like that anymore! I'm tired of being someone who has to have a full plate and seconds of everything. My Thanksgiving plans are to go to my grandma's get a reasonable helping of my favorite foods, eat slowly, and stop eating…

Yes, I agree, Tracy... you're a great leader who knows just what it takes to motivate us. :) Check-in for today: 2 sets of 20 windshield wipers 3 sets of 21's 2 sets of 20 swimmer's presses (I didn't read Tracy's note about how many were in a set till I was already done... oops) For exercise, I tried walking, but I think…

GREAT job!! :)

Yeah, the mcflurries are terrible... I discovered just how terrible in pretty much the same way as you did. Oh, well... the good news is their ice cream cones are actually pretty reasonable and make a very nice treat. A vanilla cone is only 150 calories total, and tastes better than a lot of other ice cream out there.
-
What a difference! You're looking amazing! Keep up the great work! :)

200 crunches done (that makes a total of 1100 extra for the week) I'm going to do my 2 extra miles tomorrow, one way or another. Today was kind of my "rest day." Exciting NSV... I am now able to do 200 crunches without stopping. I might be able to do more, but I had a whole list of other stuff to do tonight, so I really…

Wow... when you're trying to do all of one day's challenges plus make up ones from earlier in the week, it's pretty stinking hard! I'm sweating profusely and my face is all red, but I DID it!!! I never would have dreamed at week 1 when I was puffing my way through 10 jumping jacks at a time that I'd ever be able to do 200…
