  • I'm 56 and would be happy to join you! I'm a rebounder, but motivated!
  • FBarbie here and all is going well. I went over my daily allotment yesterday by less than 100 calories, so I'm not too freaked out about it. I missed my daily walk yesterday and obviously I needed it. I went out this morning with a couple of neighbors as usual. It was pretty hot and sticky, so we were only out for 35…
  • Wow! Keep up the great work!
  • Add me. In fact, all of you all can add me if you'd like. I'm 6 feet, currently 206. Goal weight is 175.
  • I'm just a smidge under 6 feet tall and set my goal weight at 175, but frankly, 185 would be really great. Dropping 20 pounds will make a big difference and could end up being where I'm happy. I wear a size 11/10.5 shoe and am not particularly big boned. On the other hand, I'm not willowy or bean pole like in frame either.…
  • Wow! What a great thread. I'm on a 5-week challenge to monitor via MFP. It started in July, so I'll call it a July challenge. Goal is to drop 10 pounds in 5 weeks, but frankly, I'd be thrilled to drop half of that! In the past, I have not paid as much homage to diet and have been more enthusiastic about exercise.…
  • I'm serious about both elements this time -- exercise and diet. Tended to ignore the diet in the past. Looking for some great friends == preferably in their 50s and women, but I'm open to lots of friends!
  • I just finished Week 3 day 3. I'll be going on a two-week vacation in a couple of weeks, so I won't be ahead for long. I think you will love it. I've told myself (and everyone else) for over 50 years that I don't run. My legs are too long, my feet are too flat, my belly is too fat.... However, when I saw the results that…
  • I don't know how accurate this is, but when I quit, I read that your body's digestive system has to adjust. It gets healthy very quickly and thus more efficient at pulling out nutrients. What might have just slipped on through is now being absorbed more efficently. That is part of what helps your body heal itself. We all…
  • To continue to go to my weekly tennis lessson -- 90 mins of working out straight! Go to Planet Fitness 10 times or more each month
  • Also, I should clarify that it 's not really muscle fatigue, it's more plain old leg pain. Might be early signs of shin splints. Rest always helps. And I have been doing strength training for about a year now.
  • Thanks everyone for you tips. I just got back from a short walk and man, my leg pain is back. I def. need something!!!!
  • I ran into a old acquaintance over the weekend who is about 6 ft. 3 and it was so nice to talk to another woman without having to look down or crane my neck. I felt a bit short, which is always a weird feeling. She was so surprised to see that my now grown daughter was only about 5 ft. 8! I don't mind the basketball…
  • Week 2 Doing very well with the no seconds. Had one small dessert last Saturday at a party. First one in two weeks. Still struggling with snacking. There is too much time between dinner and bedtime. Something to keep working on....
  • I am doing well with no sweets and no seconds! In fact, I haven't had seconds or sweets since last Friday when I started. Yay! The no snacks is proving difficult. I have had really, really small snacks late at night -- three pretzels, two crackers -- just enough to ease the growls and soak up some wine. ;) I have added a…
  • Hope you do well on your first real day! Keep us posted!
  • I looked through my diet over the last few weeks and I eat somewhere between 200 and 400 calories per day on snacks. It was a bit of a struggle last night not to get up and get a snack while watching the late night movie, but I didn't! I feel really good about this plan. I didn't used to be much for sweets, but lately I've…
  • i did too. Yesterday, I realized that there would be over an 8-hour gap between lunch and dinner, so I had a low carb snack about halfway through. Seemed like a sensible thing to do given the circumstances. I hope to do better today!
  • I'm giving it a try, but so far no results. I started taking it on May 11 I switched a few days ago (May 21) to a brand that doesn't have any fillers as recommended, but after 4 days, I haven't seen any results. I am "going" a bit, a bit more often though... This wouldn't be the first weight loss product to do that .…
  • I've been on it for almost two weeks and nothing. I have not lost any weight, not felt any increase in energy or appetite suppression. I did switch brands a few days ago so that i would have the "pure" supplement, but so far, no results. The only thing I have noticed since going to the "better" stuff is that I am pooping a…
  • i enjoy some turkey pepperoni now and then. A bit high in sodium, so watch that.
  • I too love J C Penny for slacks! The length is perfect, the cut is quite nice and I've had pairs of both Worthington and East5th (something like that) that have worn especially well. When I consider that I've got some on sale for as little as $14, they are my favs. I have also purchased good slacks at Boscov's and a QVC…
  • Sounds like good advice to me. I always pay attention to family wisdom. I don't mind sprinting a bit here and there, but I have never liked jogging or running.
  • Me too! I haven't done a challenge in a long time.
  • I am a six-footer. was 5ft. 9 in 9th grade 5 ft. 10 in 10th grade 5 ft. 11 in Junior year Didn't get to 6 feet until I was about 40, which I still can't figure out, but I was measured last summer at a cool 6 feet. Maybe I had short nurses too! My husband is not quite 5, 10. My daughter is 5, 7 My dad and brother are both…
  • Sorry I missed it. Pull me in if someone drops out.
  • I am 6 ft. CW 200 lbs. Med-Large. frame. Spent most of my life around 165, but have been between 190 and 205 for the last 12 years or so. I wear a size 14 jean, size 16 dress pants, which are a bit baggy. I am apple-shaped and have been doing some strength training mostly, so all my flab is in the middle now. I wear size…
  • That is a cool chart. I've also heard that most people lose weight from the extremities in and belly fat is the last to go. I'm not so sure how true that is ,but it might explain why I feel so ugly right now. My body is pretty nicely toned from about mid-thigh down and my arms have always been pretty good from elbow down.…
  • I remember a martial arts workshop given by a rather short MMA expert several years back. His whole philosophy was built around getting one's center of gravity -- think belly button -- below your opponent's. Mine was a foot above his and when I got in a low enough squat to satisfy his theory, I literally couldn't move. The…
  • I've been picking up Denim and Co. jeans -- Talls of course -- at the QVC outlets. Great prices, nice length and fit. Love them!
