Glad to see others have my obsession!! I am here way too often, help!!

Okay, I will try to help. You figure out your TDEE and that should include your exercise. If you have a day that you are super active, then you would eat more. You never want your numbers to go below your BMR. Also, you should cut just 15% off of your TDEE which I thiink for you is 2080. That will give you a slower loss…

Great job, you look wonderful!! Keep up the good work!!
-
Wow, you can really see your weight loss on your face!! You look great!!!

I think maybe you have to hit your own personal rock bottom if you want to change. I did the same thing you did for a really long time. I am 5'9" so I could get away with extra pounds for a long time. Then one day I literally was stuffed into my size 14 uniform pants. I was BEYOND mortified that I had allowed myself to get…

Hey, feel free to check out my food diary as well if you need some ideas. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt and add a little agave nectar for a little sweetness. It has a lot less sugar and junk in it than some of the other yogurts out there. I just try to eat a mix of protein, filling carbs, (brown rice, quinoa etc) and good…

I am in your boat as far as adding more weight days to my routine. I am a flight attendant so my routine on the road is very flexible. Some hotels have a great workout room, others, not so much. I try to get the bulk of my weight lifting in when I am home at my gym. I try to do one day on, cardio the next, lift again so I…

Glad you are getting into lifting!! It will give you a great shape...the only problem I have is toning down my cardio. It is hard to walk away from the treadmill etc when I have finished arms or legs on lifting days. Okay about your calories, you want to be at your TDEE if you want to stay at your current weight, or minus…

I will send you a request as well!!

Kiki, you are exactly why I am here!! I am so sick of worrying what the scale says when I should be more worried about hitting my calories and the size of my clothes!! You look AMAZING!!
-
I have your problem, I have a really hard time slowing down. Yesterday was my off day and I washed 2 cars, cleaned house and oops, walked the dog. Doesn't,t that sound like a relaxing day?? Well we can only try to be better:)

I am new to the group as well, and as Lucia suggested, I am doing a metabolic reset for 8 weeks. It is really giving me a chance to take a break from the hard core punishing diet I was on and focus on eating good food and a lot more of it!!! My TDEE is 2250!! The only problem I have is it is hard for me to hit that number,…

I read "Think and Grow Thin" and I really enjoyed it. The author himself was morbidly obese as a young person and managed to pick himself up, lose all his weight, keep it off and be an inspiration to others. He really gets the emotional part of overeating. Also he wants you to follow a good eating plan. Check it out if you…

Hey there, I am a 20 year f\a and I have been really fine tuning my food bag lately. Morning I get those ready made protein shakes from Costco , snacks I portion out almonds in small ziploc bags. Lunch I make bagel sandwiches with grilled chicken, I wrap those in foil and heat them on the coffee makers burner or you can…

You can check out my food diary, mine is open. I am trying to get in a good variety of food without eating a bunch of junk!! Today it was hard for me to get all my calories!! Gee, can't believe I am having trouble getting to my eating goals!!
-
I am with you on eating more!! Good job on your loss!!
-
That is a great NSV!!!! It does work, yeah!!!! Good for you, that had to feel wonderful.
-
I feel for you, I too am a cardio person. I am doing a reset for about 8 weeks, then going to cut. Right now I am having to get back in the habit of ONLY lifting on my weight days, no cardio. I have bought into this theory that lots and lots of cardio is a good thing. I am realizing that I never gave my body a break.…
-
Wow, that is amazing!! Did you even come close to eating enough? Oh, and do you like your fit bit? Do you find it accurate and easy to use?
-
That is great!! Just think, you will be able to push yourself a little harder each time you get out there!!
-
Congratulations to you, you look great!!! Your first battle was losing the weight and you learned new habits to help you along the way. In maintenance you are going to need to rely on those healthy habits to keep your weight off. I think most people gain their weight back because they slip back into their bad habits. Just…

I thought I might try to help? I too went on a vegan diet for a while, but I found it way too hard. That being said, if you love it then it is right for you!! I am eating more, actually at maintence for a few weeks because I was eating so low and my weight loss had come to a standstill. Have you thought about what your BMR…
-
I would say yes, you should be eating at least over your BMR and if you are at maintenance you want to eat at your TDEE. If you want to lose you should do TDEE minus 15%. Hope that helps, you may have just gained water weight, and especially if you had surgery, cut yourself some slack and try not to freak out. You need to…

Me too!! Food, I get to actually eat. I will always work out, it is in my DNA, but I want fuel for my body. Glad you woke up as well. Do you feel better now in your workouts?
-
Age:45 5'9" Weight 161 Goal 145 BMR 1461 TDEE 2265 15% reduction 1925 with 5 days of strenuous workouts (I may cut the cardio way back?) Currently on maintenance to reset my metabolism.
-
I am in as well. My sister and I both have been scratching our heads wondering, how are we functioning if we consume less than our bmr's? I am going on maintenance, at Lucia's suggestion for about 8 weeks. My tdee is 2265!! Wow, I go from eating hardly anything to eating. Will I expect to see a gain initially? Has anyone…

Here are a few things that I have figured out about binge eating, 1. binge eating makes me feel good for a few minutes and then I feel horrible about myself. 2. Binge eating gets me further and further away from my goals. 3. Binge eating usually happens because I did not plan my evening meal and I am "hungry" for crap. 4.…

I just wanted to say this is the best thread I have ever read!! Thank you SO much for taking the time to answer all of our questions. You my dear are AMAZING!!

I read a really good book by Charles D'Angelo "Think and Grow Thin." This book appealed to me because he really addressed the emotional aspect of being overweight. I think instead of beating yourself up for what you did not know in the past, celebrate your decision to embrace your new lease on life. He really stresses that…

I have one night, Saturday night, as my refuel meal. That meal is a chance for me to eat carbs at dinner, maybe a baked potato, quinoa, whole wheat bread. I am going over my total daily calories, but for the week I am still under my calories and keep losing. Good luck on your upcoming transplant. I wish you the best. My…
