thanks all - i called the doctor who pretty much said what you all did - so your advice was great! thanks

OK so not entirely related to weight loss - but figured if i put this under the 'fitness' tab its kind of related! Lately, for the last week or so, I have had pretty much constant headaches. It feels like my brain is too big for my head (LOL!) what i really mean is my head feels like its throbbing and about to burst!…

yeah, would be great to maybe get an idea of a good program. i have heard that HIIT is supposed to be so intense you can only do it for about 20 mins max? thanks!
-
just curious, what are u eating for dinner? i usually only have around 400 left!
-
hey guys, getting really sick of the gym and thinking of taking up dancing classes for two of my three workouts/week. do u think i could get good results with this, i know dancers have great bodies hehe!! :)

Hi all, If i work out for an hour and my HRM says i burned 350, do i have to subtract the 50 i would have burned had i stayed in bed? ie. do i put in 350 or 300? Thanks!
-
hey, i agree with the above, but also, i think a little self talk always helps too. say to yourself 'i am acknowledging that i want that extra food, but i will wait ten minutes and then if i really want it, i can have it'. that way, in ten mins time, you will realize u really are full and that the extra food is useless. i…

ok well, again, thanks for all y'all suggestions and hope i didn't upset anyone. i will raise the cals and take on board what u say!
-
sorry - appears i have offended some people and thats the last thing i want as i really appreciate that we are all here for generally the same reason and that you are genuinely trying to help. to clarify, MFP has always had me at 1200, losing 1lb/wk. i have said before that, with exercise, i should eat about 1500 but that…
-
but 1200 is what MFP gives me?? i mean, i do eat my exercise cals. sorry hope i dont sounds like im complaining or anything, i just really want to be healthy and am a bit confused! thanks for being so kind, 3babybeans!

thanks for your comments. i'll start measuring but my clothes still fit the same so i am skeptical about my results! dunno, maybe i am just eating more than i think! i wear a HRM so i know i burning that much. yeah, i hear what u are saying about 118 being low....honestly i have issues with food (used to be anorexic as a…

whoops, sorry should have done that! i want to caveat this by saying that i am not really overweight, but am naturally small framed. in the last year have put on 10lb which i dont feel comfrotable with and would like to tone up and lose. i weigh 128lb, am 21 and 5'6. i work out 4 times/week with intervals, spin and…

hi guys, just looking for a little reassurance - i am really trying to eat what MFP gives me, (i mean i eat my exercise cals) but i just dont seem to be losing!! i work out four/five times a week, generally dont eat bad foods (my cals are generally good ones) but it doesnt seem to be working! any tips on what i might be…

not as i understand it. the 1950 you are allotted is ALREADY factoring in -500 calories for one pound weight loss (or however many pounds u want to lose, based on info u entered at the beginning). so, not eating ur exercise cals means u would have a defecit of 1050 cals instead, see? and i think the thing is, to lose…

does anyone else experience this? i really want to be healthy and stay within my limits but sometmies i just fall off the wagon BUT its only ever with sweets/choc, never fried food or cake or anything. its weird and its always my downfall! i cant go more than about two days without doing so, what am i doing wrong!! thanks!
-
has anyone tried it? i am beginning it today but HATE low carbing so am finding it hard to stay low carb today!!
-
thanks so much for your posts. i think i will try changing up my workout routine and also upping my cals. am really scared to do that but with the support here i'm hoping it will be ok. i had an eating disorder a few years back and think my mind tends to revert to that way of thinking whenever i get desperate. just one…

thanks for your help! i've been strength training for about a year now i think. MFP puts me at 1200 per day (ie. i burn 1700 sedentary) so i generally burn around 200 or 300 with exercise. thanks again!
-
no, i didnt take measurements but my clothes seem to fit the same. strength training i do legs twice a wk, upper body once a week then switch the ratio the week after. approx 3 x 15 sets with progresive weights, but never really heavy for eg. i lift max 12.5kg on squats. thanks for your posts!

i am 5'6, 128lb and only looking to lose around five/ten pounds as i have a small frame and have put this on over the last year or so. i work out 5 days/wk, doing some interval training, body attack, spin, walking, pilates. also some strength training. i do eat my exercise cals (although have to admit i am still skeptical…

Hi all, today i did the 'body for life' 20 minute aerobic solution - 20 mins of high intensity interval training. it was defs v hard and i feel knackered now, but my HRM says i burned only 200kcal. Does anyone have any wisdom on why, then, intervals are always touted as burning more fat than long, slow cardio? FOr example…
-
i use a HRM for cardio and weights, which has been pretty accurate so far. however b/c activities like callanetics and pilates dont raise the heart rate, the HRM doesnt record any extra calories burned although web sites (inc this one) often cite around 250cals/hr. any wisdom on how to count pilates/callanetics and whether…

it sounds great! being not very knowledgeable about exercise, do u reckon it would be ok to do both cardio and weights on the same day, so working out hard three times/wk. then on the other two days i could do pilates and a walk or similar? just cant get to the gym itself six times/week. thanks guys appreciate it!

has anyone done the body for life program? it looks good (but hard) in the book and was wondering if it could work for someone looking to drop only around ten pounds....any thoughts?

If I eat quite over my calories on one day (say 300 over), does this mean the next day I should eat 300 under recommended or should i just continue to eat normally as per MFP's recommendations and try to forget about falling off the wagon? i find that if i try to eat under calories the day after a binge, this just creates…

hi, just wondering if anyone has any advice - i've recovered from really low cal diet (about a year ago i began to eat more) but still generally only eat between 1200-1300/day, and i exercise a lot. recently decided i wanted to start eating more so have logged on here, but am bit worried about eating so many more cals!…
