I like BodyPump, Spin classes and use the elliptical, Arc trainer and rowing for cross training on days I am not running.

I run in addition to BodyPump. I also use the ARC trainer and sometimes elliptical. Second spin classes; they're lots of fun!

Use an incline on the treadmill and it will seem a little more like you are running outside.

For me it depends on whether we do more speed intervals or hill climbing. Obviously if we do more speed intervals my mileage will be higher than if we are doing seated hill climbs. I'm 5'3 and average anywhere from 10-14 miles in a 60 class.

I workout during the evening after work through the week. On weekends I go in the morning. That's what works for my schedule. I burn the same if I am running 5 miles in the evening as I would if I was running 5 miles in the morning. same goes for if I am doing weights in the morning vs. evening.

When I "carb" load before a half marathon I do this... bfast - eggs, eng muffin, fruit lunch- chicken, baked potato, fruit dinner - protein, pasta/rice, fruit snacks are protein, fruit and maybe a half bagel or eng muffin w/pb. I do that for 2-3 days before. I try to make "better" carb choices than the ones I know I'd love…

It's not the peeing I have to worry about usually. lol Anyway, I use the porta potty before the race starts. Usually I don't have to pee during a long run though but if I had to I would stop. My last race (Oct 2nd) I had to stop mid race (mile 5-6) to use the bathroom. Sometimes it just can't be helped!

I use to call it that until I met my hubby and that's his sister's nickname. LOL We use the proper names for them with our kids. I have a friend that calls the girl part a Sally....sally the camel has 2 humps. Nice for a little kid, huh!?

Wendy's fries dipped in Frosty. Regular Mountain Dew - drank like it was water. Burger king bacon, egg, cheese croissants And I was thin back then. *sigh*

There are all shapes/sizes/ages of people in my BodyPump classes. Go for it. You can always adjust the weight to fit your needs.

haha yea, happens to me too! ;) The best thing I can tell you (from my experience) is to just relax. I find that the less I think about my breathing when I run the better I breathe and run. I struggle with my breathing when I try to focus on how I am doing it.

Good job on the long run Kristi. I did a longish run last night (with a freakin' migraine). 7 miles in just under 73 minutes. Half marathon is a week from Saturday. I am slightly concerned. I use a Nathan handheld for half marathons. I find that between that and the water stations set up that I have enough hydration. My hubby uses an amphipod belt with 2 bottles.

I wish my gym offered BodyCombat!!! I take BodyPump and there are always men in there. There are also more men in the spin classed I take than women usually.
