I've logged on almost daily since last March. I have a foul mouth and a love of vodka. I eat too much crap. Maybe if I quit the vodka and crap, I'll lose that last 20 lbs a little faster. But....

It's your 21st birthday. It's one day. You have your whole life. Celebrate. Enjoy. Get back on the wagon the next day. Happy birthday! :)

Quote of the day, right there.

I'll be 40 next month! Honestly, that's not really what motivated me. (I was just tired of being a fat @$$.) But being able to say I got a handle on my health before turning 40 is certainly a bonus!

Like others have said, the really hard part is just getting into the routine of doing it. My alarm goes off at 3:15am. I usually hit snooze once. I have all my workout stuff right by my bed, so I get up and put it on right away. I like to eat a light breakfast before I workout, but I'm usually starving first thing in the…

Now I want a McRib.

I'm not bashing a low-carb diet. I've been on one per doctors orders before, and it did work. But when OP listed her typical food for a day, there were no carbs at all, save for some broccoli and a tomato. The low-carb diet I was given by a doctor and nutritionist icluded fruits and whole grains. The right kinds of carbs…

^^^Took the words right out of my mouth.

Is there a medical reason you're on such a low carb diet? At least adding in some fruit would up your calories, carbs, and energy.

This. I make it a point to save enough calories to have something every night. It gives me something to look forward to. You just have to have the discipline to know when to stop. Eat it, log it, be done.

I'm not far behind you. I'll be 40 in February. I'm not dreading it at all. For the first time in my life, I feel like I've got my $h!t together. (For the most part, anyway.) You definitely do health-wise. So you're already ahead of most people at this point. Life is what you make it. Make it count, and face it head-on, no…

This is why I'm a fan of the "like" button. It can show your appreciation for someone's efforts without the triteness.

Powerstrike with Ilaria Montagnani http://www.amazon.com/Powerstrike/dp/B001NVW4PO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388463748&sr=8-1&keywords=powerstrike This is the workout that made me really start enjoying working out. It's low impact, can be modified for beginners, and is fun to do. Powerstrike 5 and 6 are equally good, but…

Alarm goes off at 3:15am. Put on workout clothes, eat breakfast, piddle on FB and MFP, then working out by 4am. I try to be in bed by 9pm. Doesn't always happen, though. I know I need more sleep. :/

I will be 40 in February. I'm within 20 lbs of my original goal, and already in the best shape of my life, by far, Though I'm not at my lowest weight, I'm at my smallest ever size thanks to a good combination of cardio and strength. I want to get into heavy lifting soon. It can be done! Would love to add you as a friend! :)

You're doing such a great job! You look great!! :)

Just try to take away my vodka...I DARE you...

Kickboxing workouts might be ok. A good punching routine can be a great cardio workout, and you might be able to do some kicks, too, as long as you're careful.

I think it's just personal preference. I did it for a long time. But I'm usually starving when I wake up, so I started eating first, then working out. Gives me much more energy and stamina.

We're in a very similar place in our journeys. I'm planning on my first half-marathon next year. (Walking. I can't do the whole running thing. lol!) Sending a request...

The journey to health, I think, is 100% mental. You can go through the motions and do everything technically right. But if you're not doing it for the right reasons, or your head isn't in the game, you'll eventually fail. First and foremost, before making long-term plans and goals, you have to learn to love yourself again…

Mmmmm, Irish Cream....been craving that for a while! And you're damn right about the beer!!

This. Exactly. I will also occasionally throw out my favorite lesson I've learned: "Don't do anything to lose weight that you're not willing to do for the rest of your life."
-
I f***ing hate tequila. But I love vodka. And Big Macs. Though I'm taking advantage of the McRib while I can.

OP, you win the prize for most relatable post ever made.

Wow, this is like the 3rd Indiana thread I've seen on here tonight! The Hoosiers are out in full force! Evansville here! :)
