  • Mine as of today: 4827 DAYS STREAK
  • I have 4717 days, but I'm sure someone has more.
  • I have been using MFP faithfully for almost 13 years. Guess this is the unlucky year since my News Feed and Profile Feed are now gone. : (
  • My completed food diary is no longer showing up in my News Feed. Must be a MFP glitch? Glad to know I'm not the only one.

  • Today makes 4664 days of logging in. I initially came here years ago in an attempt to bring down my elevated cholesterol level and, of course, lose some weight in the process. I accomplished both within four months (it kept me off cholesterol-lowering drugs) and have, thankfully, kept the majority of the weight off through…
  • That's exactly what I'm getting, as well. I was told by someone that my own diary is set to private now, which I definitely didn't do. I sure wish MFP would address this issue...soon!
  • All things in moderation, that's the key, NOT deprivation.

  • I joined MFP over three years ago. I met my target weight in less than a year's time. I've continued to log in and log my foods every day since then as part of my maintenance plan. MFP has become a part of my daily life now and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
  • Here are a few non-veggie ideas: Hint of Salt Triscuit is my favorite hummus dipper (great with spinach dip, too). There's a low-fat Triscuit, as well, though it's higher in sodium. Another good hummus dipper is PopChips Mediterranean Herb Veggie Chips. For dips and hummus, Walmart's World Table brand Mediterranean Herb…
  • I usually add a teaspoon of honey. Sometimes, I'll add dried fruit or dry cereal. I've even added a bit of caramel syrup and chocolate syrup (the latter didn't taste so great, but the caramel is fine).
  • Wow, simply WOW! Kudos to you on your determination to turn things around and kudos to Jackie for sticking by you. Amazing story. Best wishes for a beautiful life together.
  • I eat all the items you've mentioned (except the nuts...can't have 'em) and have lost almost 40 lbs. since joining MFP. The key is portion control. To deprive yourself of what you love is to set yourself up for failure, imo. For example, like you, I love Lindt Truffles. I now buy the extra dark chocolate and have ONE…
  • Looks great...thanks for sharing!
  • I weigh myself every Friday morning after emptying my bladder and before breakfast. I chose Fridays because my husband and I eat out Friday night and most Saturday and Sundays for lunch. This way, I have all week to work off any extra pounds from the weekend. : ) It's worked for me as I am now on maintenance (have been for…
  • I was doing the same as you when I first joined MFP over two years ago (we're the same height), and averaged no more than a one-pound-per-week weight loss. You're doing fine...really! : ) Best wishes for continued success.
  • Seems the mystery was solved by a couple of people here with the explanation that she could have been requesting a "long pour", not a longport. Example: "There is even another pull called "Lungo" or "long-pour" where the water flows through for a final volume of 1 and 1/2 to 2 ounces. This is very watery, biting, soured…
  • Health Valley Organic makes yummy low-fat, low-calorie soups. I really enjoy their low-sodium tomato and low-sodium cream of mushroom (which I also use in recipes). Even Campbell's and Progresso now have lines of low-sodium soups and most are tasty.
  • The FIRST thing I do when I visit a Chinese restaurant is ask for a to-go container and immediately halve my food so that I'm not tempted to eat more than I should, especially since it's so high in sodium. Most Chinese restaurants will offer steamed options. I opt for the steamed veggies and steamed pot stickers, but…
  • Here ya go: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=twerk "The rhythmic gyrating of the lower fleshy extremities in a lascivious manner with the intent to elicit sexual arousal or laughter in ones intended audience."
  • You look fantastic...kudos to you! (What a great smile, too!) : )
  • How to know you're REALLY old: You have to look up the definition of the word "twerk" after reading about Miley's gross performance! I was subsequently "treated" to a video clip of her performance - DISGUSTING!! I'm sorry, but the girl has no talent, is not attractive AT ALL and does these outrageous things to stay…
  • I use no-salt-added/no-sugar-added canned fruits and vegetables all the time, in addition to frozen fruits and veggies, whenever I am out of fresh produce or when I'm in a hurry. You might be interested in reading these articles as they support the fact that canned and frozen veggies/fruits are usually packaged at the peak…
  • I much prefer almond milk to soy milk. I've tried Silk, Blue Diamond and Full Circle brands. The Full Circle brand is by far the best...very creamy and most like regular milk, even the original unsweetened version. For some reason, though, it's very hard to find and only one store in my area stocks it, when it's available.…
  • Pretty dress, pretty lady, great smile and GREAT success story! Kudos to you!

  • -4 Low-sodium Triscuit crackers with 1 tablespoon roasted red pepper, roasted pine-nut or kalamata olive hummus. -11 Calbee Baked Snap Peas -Fresh fruit -Non-Fat plain Greek yogurt & 1 teaspoon honey -Dates stuffed with low-fat cheese
  • Even though I'm old enough to be your mother (I have a 26-year-old son), your story and mine are similar. Two years ago next month, I had an Executive Panel done during a routine doctor's visit. I received a call the next week that my triglyceride level was above normal and my cholesterol was elevated. I had never had…
  • One can make healthier choices at most fast food restaurants these days; I do. Plus, I'm eating a whole lot better than I was two years ago when I first started MFP. My weight loss and now-normal cholesterol and triglycerides attest to that fact. So, there's nothing wrong with eating fast food now and then - moderation and…

  • I agree - when on vacation, it's all about portion control. If you deprive yourself, you are just setting yourself up for failure (that's not to say, of course, that every meal should be fried foods and ice-cream sundaes!). Also, try to get some sort of exercise in but make it fun. Walking "the strip" for hours burns up…
