@graceojo999 I use kg too - purely because I don't understand it as much as lbs/ stone so it stops me stressing as much about the numbers! Haha. Morning all. I'm feeling good today. I had a lovely walk on the south downs yesterday with my partner - it was a little chilly but climbing the hills kept us warm! Lots of sheep,…

The problem with coffee is that it is not as hydrating as water. The caffeine makes liquid move through your system more quickly, so you are not absorbing it as effectively. I don't track water but I would suggest maybe logging coffee as around half the amount of water that you actually put in it. Same with green/black…

PW 92.3 CW 92.3 No loss this week but at least it’s not a gain. I had such a bad start to the week and only really got back on track on Thursday, so I was sure I would see an increase. Feeling relieved 🙂

Yes I do this quite a lot. Some days I'm over, but most days I am under, and it evens out overall. It's hard to keep every day exactly the same and I agree with people who are talking about weekly rather than daily totals.

Often I can take or leave breakfast, however it must be said that breakfast is, for some reason, my absolute favourite meal to go OUT for! I love a breakfast/ brunch at a cafe! When I'm home I usually have a small bowl of muesli with banana, around 200 calories. Oh, and coffee. Coffee is VERY important :D

@Steph1498 You still lost 1lb.. that's not to be sniffed at! ;) I'm with you with the eating tacos and still wanting to lose weight though haha.

Hormonal contraceptives affect weight in two ways: 1) Increasing appetite 2) Increasing water retention (oestrogen causes this - this is why overweight women are often given the progestin-only mini-pill). So, to those saying that it is only due to increased appetite/ calories - do your research - hormonal birth control can…

Similar to others I weigh most days. It just keeps me focussed on it and I know to expect fluctuations, so I'm OK with that. I only record it on here if it's gone down though :D Sometimes if I know I have not stayed within calories I avoid the scale... but that's a red flag!

I have found it helpful to set smaller goals so it doesn't feel overwhelming. I probably have 4 or 5 stone to lose to be at a healthy weight, but right now I'm just focusing on the first half stone or so. Then when I get there, maybe I'll do another half, and see how I feel. So my advice is, try taking it one small step at…

My big update for today is that I managed to get myself to the gym yesterday, so am beginning to feel back in control and back on it!

Good morning team, @Terytha wow, what an amazing sky! <3 @YinxFed Ooh, please let me know what you think of Beekeeper - I downloaded the audio book months ago when it was on offer on Audible, but haven't got around to listening to it yet. I have heard amazing things though! I love my Kindle too :) My course is amazingly…

I've been a bit absent recently, both on here and with my calorie counting and exercise. I've been logging but tbh my efforts to stay within calories have all been a bit half hearted compared to a week or two ago, so I'm not expecting any losses until I get myself back in gear! Going to do my best today. I am also starting…

@YinxFed Nice work getting to book club! What are you reading? I could use some suggestions if you feel like sharing! @Gidgitgoescrazy So glad your hubby seems to be making a good recovery :) @conleywoods @micki48 @jugar aaarrh thanks for the support. You guys are awesome. It really does make a difference. My partner seems…

It wouldn't work for me, but I can see why some people might like it. It's simple and means you don't have to spend a lot of the day thinking about food prep or planning your activities around eating. The number of meals per day that we eat is really only a cultural thing. I probably like to have 3 meals a day because…

Sorry to hear you're struggling :( I wonder what the difference is now, that makes it so much harder for you to stick to your diet plan compared to when you were 21? Do you have less motivation/ why do you think that is if so? Sounds like family commitments make it difficult too - can you do anything to change how you eat…

It sounds like you are asking/ expecting him to do something he just isn't really up to at the moment. It's a shame, but you can't really expect him to lose weight and get fitter just for this. We all know how hard it is to lose weight and it has to be something he wants to do for himself - his motivation has to come from…

I'm having a tough few days. My partner has been unwell (he has chronic health problems) and it has been bumming me out a bit. I'm also coming off various medications at the moment so there's a lot going on right now. I'm trying to be kind to myself but I definitely over-ate yesterday and am feeling a bit down. Gonna try…

You seem to have changed your mind over the course of the thread that you are now not eating until you are physically sick, but just having a treat meal. What you are saying now contradicts with your original post. (Gorging until you are sick is a problem, having a treat meal obviously isn't). Anyway as another poster said…

Are you changing your account to lightly active because of the exercise, or are you more active now generally than you used to be? If you changed your account because of the extra exercise, then you shouldn't be logging it all as well. You might be doubling up your calories there.

You could try a milk with lower fat content and get a milk frother to foam it up a bit? Won't be quite the same but it can still mimic something a bit indulgent :)

I'm not vegan but have a veggie/ vegan cookbook and we enjoy the recipes but are always a little shocked by how many calories are in some of the dishes! Lots of carbs, as well as nuts and added oil... cheese and dairy in the veggie ones too... it does mount up!

Sound like if you've hit a plateau and want to lose more, it would be best to keep tracking. Either way you still have to eat less/ move more to lose weight, so unless it stresses you out hugely, tracking is the easiest way to ensure you're doing that successfully.

I'd agree with the poster above who said it's probably best to just pick one or the other. Trying to create your own system as a combo of the two might not work as well and could be confusing. I thought the whole thing about slimming world is that you DON'T count calories, so it might not be very compatible with this site.…

I like McDonalds wraps. I enjoy going to the drive thru sometimes as a break from work and just having some chill time in my car. But calories can definitely add up! A wrap with no fries and a water/ sugar free drink is under 500 cals so perfect for lunch.

I'm not sure about a substitute, but I have heard people say that you can quite quickly get used to having less. If you can just manage a few days/ weeks with less salt, it will start to taste less bland and you will get the real flavours of your food coming through more, then you will stop needing it. (Also depends what…

I guess I'm just interested in why you plan on doing it in the first place? (I know it's not what you were asking, but it is interesting to question yourself?)

This isn't OK and as her mum you have a responsibility to take some action on that. It is bordering on emotional/ verbal abuse - you can't let that lie. Before even thinking about addressing her weight at all, you need to address this abusive language from dad and grandma. Tell them that if she comes home crying again you…

Oh gosh, you mention you are anaemic too? You definitely shouldn't be doing this :( I hope you don't harm yourself.

@globalc00 You asked if it was unhealthy but you didn't ask if it was healthy for your body? :/ And then you also thank people for pointing out about the diabetes. That is contradictory. I just don't know why you started the thread if you didn't want advice and opinions. That's the whole idea? If you start an open thread…

I like bacon but there is a lot of research saying that processed meats are not particularly good for you, so I try not to eat too much. I do have a couple of rashers once a week or so. Having bacon 6 days a week does sound like a lot, there might be healthier options. Everything in moderation.
