  • A lot of people here are suggesting changing up your exercise routine in some way but it seems like the thing that really needs some attention is your mind and your mental health. You say you have a lot of cortisol and you are very stressed, especially when exercising. I'm not surprised as it sounds like exercise and…
  • Depends if you're logging it as raw or cooked. There are calorie estimates for both so you can do whatever works. But as the above poster said, make sure you account for anything you add to it.
  • Doesn't mean there's anything to be ashamed of. On this site you are amongst many people who have had similar issues. But we answered your question truthfully... regardless of your weight, it's not a healthy thing to do.
  • Well, you also asked if it's considered an unhealthy relationship with food and you got a more or less unanimous answer... Yes. It is.
  • Overeaters Anonymous might be able to help. https://oa.org/
  • But why do you do it? Have you asked yourself why you feel the need? What's driving you? Surely you don't want to feel ill, so there is some element of losing control here, even if you planned your binge. Ironically, the reason you still have an appetite a few hours later is probably BECAUSE of the over-eating. Binge…
  • This was quite an interesting read about what actually happens in your body when you binge... many of which are not anything to do with weight gain but still quite alarming/ worrying. https://www.popsugar.co.uk/fitness/What-Happens-When-You-Binge-Eat-42747063
  • Is it something to do with getting value for money? I don't really get it tbh, was that really more pleasurable than just eating a slice of cheesecake at a pace that you can actually appreciate and enjoy it?
  • Hi everyone. I'm Jess/ Spyro! I'm 31 and live on the South Coast of the UK. I joined this group back at the beginning of September and very happy to be back here again! It has really spurred me on to keep going with my weight loss and I have loved the group chit chat and getting to know people. @jugar and @micki48 are fab…
  • There's eating until you're satisfied and then there's eating until you're ill. It's not really the same. You're body is satisfied way before that point but your mind is telling you "THIS IS DELICIOUS, MORE PLEASE!" - the two are not linking up. Perhaps because your brain isn't getting time to catch up. Sometimes our…
  • It's OK for people to share how they have lost weight. Just because it didn't/ doesn't work for you doesn't make it any less valid for them. All bodies are different. Don't compare yourself, just do what you need to do for you.
  • Another thing to think about is are you doing this by yourself? In secret? Or are you going with family or friends? Often there is a link with problematic eating and secret eating. When I did used to binge, I did it on my own, and I didn't tell anyone.
  • I mean, it's up to you if you want to do it, but just because it doesn't affect your weight doesn't mean it's not doing any damage to your body. It would be healthier if you didn't do it, but you already know that. As far as I go, sometimes I plan a higher calorie meal, like a trip to a restaurant or the drive-thru. But I…

  • @micki48 Oh my gosh, what a total cutie! Love the planets t-shirt. @conleywoods Aw, so gutted for you but don't be disheartened. I found that video really helpful too and we really do need to go easy on ourselves at certain times of the month. Hugs! You'll be back on it soon, be kind to yourself for now :)
  • I feel like you should have also included your starting and finishing beard length. The internet needs to know :D Seriously though, this is awesome! Well done!
  • @micki48 D'oh! I never was very good with spreadsheets - sorted now! The walk sounds fun. I am always a little envious that Halloween is so big in the US. We still have trick or treating and dressing up in the UK but it's not such a big event and much more for the kids... but I do love it ;) @Terthya Oh my gosh, what a…
  • Love this! I find it so satisfying when my belt is a little tighter. It's such a great visual of progress and makes it feel real! Well done.
  • Very motivating to read everyone's October goals! I have decided to take part in the habit tracker too so have added my goals on there, they are quite simple... Gym 3x per week Pilates 1 x per week (this is "at least once a week" really - I attend class on Zoom once a week but aim to do more outside this as it's very good…
  • @Terytha Really interesting video, thanks for posting. I feel like at 31 I am only just starting to actually get to grips with my menstrual cycle and what it means for weight loss. Some good tips on there!
  • @Pearl4686 Congrats on the C25K achievement! That's amazing. I've never been able to run and have some joint problems which mean it's not a good idea, but it's such a great form of exercise for those who can. I am not feeling 100% this morning. I am in the process of coming off antidepressants which is a really good thing,…
  • @CanadianGiraffe Mmmmm pumpkin chai latte! Tis the season! :D My fiance has been going on about pumpkin pie so I guess we will have to make/ buy one at some point haha. It's getting significantly colder here now and I am very glad it's Autumn (or Fall for you American peeps!) Lots of pretty colours are appearing which is…
  • @jugar Will we be automatically rolled over to October challenge from here? I would like to carry on :) Congratulations to everyone on your awesome losses - Waist Aways are having a good couple of weeks!
  • Could you just take the meat off the bone when it's cooked, weigh that and put it in as cooked chicken thigh?
  • I do it most days but I can cope with the fluctuations and if I gain a little one day I understand that it doesn't really mean anything. I just like to have the data I guess.
  • Not a particular documentary but I just hear so much generally from friends, social media and news that I follow that eating a lot of meat is bad for the environment. I don't need to watch a graphic documentary to understand that. So I have cut down my red meat intake (which is by far the worst), and I eat mostly poultry,…
  • Whilst I agree with everyone saying that weight loss is about calories, I think there could be some psychological effect that could contribute. For example, if you say one day "I am going to commit to a healthier lifestyle and I want to lose some weight", then you might start buying organic food as part of that. It might…
  • This was exactly my reason for secret eating and I was scrolling through the thread to see if someone mentioned it. I had a problem with binge eating McDonalds/ KFC after work, which I talked through with a therapist. I was surprised to discover that at the bottom of it was my child self saying "I can eat whatever I want…
  • @thelastnightingale Well said! Working from home has brought so much benefit for me, too, physically and mentally. Having cut out my hour long daily commute, I can prioritise my health a lot more easily now and I have more time, energy and willpower to do so. I wonder if it will make a sustained difference to many…
  • @jugar PW 93.1 CW 92.6 So please I have had a loss despite my indulgences last weekend - getting back to the gym definitely paid off! @Terytha Omg yes the cat game looks amazing - that would be the temptation for me if any! I am also a big Final Fantasy fan (and gamer in general). Loved FF15 on the PS4. Let me know how the…
