I would go to a garage/ car service centre with a female friend and enjoy being the one who gets the eye contact from the mechanic as he explains what is wrong with the car! (cos apparently women know nothing about cars) ;)

I don't really have a proper warm up, I don't stretch or anything, but I will start off whatever I'm doing at a slower pace for the first 5-10 minutes, then push it up as I get into it. Seems to work for me so far.

Yes I think the only way to really do it accurately is to get a heart rate monitor that also shows calories burned. I am happy with the general estimation though and I rarely eat back my exercise calories. If I do it will only be about 1/3 of them. I just don't get that hungry anyway really! Basically I think our bodies just fluctuate. Sadly that doesn't mean that McDonalds is good for us. Do you mean those things that hold you in underneath a dress? If so go to M&S. They don't actually make you look smaller really but they do stop you being self conscious about flabby bits, and they are not that uncomfortable.

I don't log tiny little things like a swig of milk or a few grapes, but I don't have that many nibbles anyway. The calorie counts on here are not going to be 100% accurate anyway, so for me I just use it to get an overall picture.

I don't see a problem with reading on a recumbant or chatting on rowers. I don't do it because my workouts are more intense, but people can still burn calories and lose weight from less intense workouts. It is a bit irritating when people stand around socialising and not doing anything though.

My faaavourite is Spicy Italian with cheese and barbecue sauce and the herby cheese bread!!! But these days I normally have Turkey & Ham on wheat if I go. Sad times :( lol
