Ditch the glorified candy bars and opt for fresh fruits and veggies to get your fiber. Quest Protein bars are my "go to" bar. Minimal ingredients, packed with protein and fiber, low carb, gluten free. And the quality of fiber and ingredients in your bars make all the difference. Quest bars have 17/18g of high quality fiber…

Change up your runs! You could do things like: - take different routes - slow your pace and run 5 miles - speed up your pace and run 2 miles - run hills - do sprints etc, etc. I started running hills recently. Now when I go on a flat run, it seem so much easier.

Muscles and veins are sexy on men and women IMO! And my hubby agrees!

My opinion: Tilapia and especially salmon are stronger in flavor. Mild, white fish is a good way to get used to the texture of fish.
-
I think a good white fish is a great place to start.. ask someone at the meat counter to recommend what they have with the most mild flavor. Are you near a Costco? They always have something mild in the frozen section. You can try Cod or Hake frozen fillets. Thaw them and follow the directions on package to grill or bake.…

Scivation Whey tastes really good and mixes well. Low cal, low carb, low sugar. Reasonable price too.

Yup, get fitted for a shoe! There are stores that put you on a treadmill and watch your gate, etc. Within each brand (Nike, Adida, Asics) there are different types of shoes... stability, cushioned, etc. So, you need to find out the TYPE of shoe you need, and then try on that type in a few different brands to see what feels…

Great work! You look fabulous! LOVE the sarcasm!

Bump!

I got the same thing last year for my son's birthday (Keep in mind, these were THREE year olds!) We invited pretty much everyone from his school/daycare. So, we didn't really know any of the parents. One of the moms showed up at the door, didn't introduce herself, handed me a bday gift for my son, scooted her daughter into…

Bump!

Seriously, if you are looking to buy a protein bar and not have to make your own, Quest Bars have the best nutritional profile out there. And they are eaten by fitness competitors and body builders right up to and through competition. Trust me, they would NEVER eat a Cliff Bar, Luna Bar, Pure Protein, etc close to comp…

Yes, QUEST BARS!! Hands down the healthiest, cleanest bar on the market! There is nothing else like them!! You can buy online and now available at Vitamin Shoppe's and other small, smart health stores!

LOL!!!! Literally!! Thanks!

Pre-making meals for the week can also be a good option. You can spend a couple hours on Sunday (or whatever) and prepare some meals & portion them out for the week. For you and for your hubby. You can have them in the fridge ready to go or even freeze some. You can make healthy (or not) casseroles and things like that to…

There's no magic formula! You have to find what works best for you. Some people like to eat a huge breakfast to carry them through to lunch... some people like a smaller one and have a snack before lunch.

I make my own cereal. I use popped Amaranth as the base and then add any mixture of extra goodies: ** popped Amaranth Amaranth is a seed that is eaten as a grain. The Aztecs knew about it and frequently prepared it. Amaranth can be found at many health food stores. This seed is gluten free like corn, and just like corn, it…

Yes! Good quality running shoes will make all the difference! It's important to find a store that does the fitting for you. They put you on a treadmill and take video. It makes ALL the difference; honestly!! EDIT TO ADD: Please don't buy running shoes based on the brand. What works from some (Nike) doesn't work at all for…

My last batch with the protein powder added: 6 large thick pieces 338 calories, 26 net carbs, 17g fat, 18g protein, ONLY 2g sugar, 6g fiber * it does look high in fat. but, remember, that's 1 full tbl of PB in each serving. 14g of healthy fats just from the PB.
-
I made a batch of the baked oatmeal: baked it in a square glass dish. Cut it into 6 large, thick pieces and it came out to around 330 per piece. (but, i did use 6 tbl of pb instead of 8) I've been making it since then and make a few modifications: - leave out brown sugar and use splenda - use coconut oil instead of butter…

Everyone has their own version of what is "healthy". For some, it's low cal. For some, it's "clean eating": natural foods, not processed. It just depends on what your goals are. You could swap out that wrap for a Sprouted Whole Wheat tortilla from Alvarado St. Bakery. I find them at Trader Joe's. (eating Sprouted grains is…

I used mine for a couple of months with my HRM. I'm more interested in total calories burned in the day; couldn't care less about how many steps I take. And the FitBit doesn't count the cals burned while strength training because you aren't taking steps. It's a cool gadget and nice to see what your activity is like. But,…

I just baked a batch of the PB Oatmeal... DELISH!!!

Not to be rude, but this is FALSE information. Yes, your body does need some carbs but your carbs do NOT need to be higher than protein.
