Good Luck and glad that you found your way back. I think eating clean and healthy has always made us feel better even if you aren't doing it for weight loss. The weight loss will eventually follow but just to get into good eating habits helps us physically and mentally. I have wondered away and back several times and…

Welcome Jason, Glad that your doctor recommended this site. It is really great to get advice, talk to people in your same situation, and to just have motivation from others going through the same struggles. I live in Michigan as well and wish my doctors had recommended this site to me years ago. I was lucky enough to find…

I will try to incorporate avocados but I am not a huge fan of them. I just can't get past the flavor really but will keep trying :). Thanks for all of the suggestions. This can be so frustrating in itself though. I don't mind the diet so much just having a rough time trying to come up with enough food to eat during the day…

Here is my list so far of what I cannot eat: For the Mold elimination diet: No Milk of any kinds No cheese of any includes, including cottage cheese Mushrooms Vinegar and vingear contaning foods such as mayonnaise and other…

Does anyone know how to eat a 1300 calorie diet when you have a yeast and a mold food allergy? I can't have milk, cheese, mushrooms, dried fruits, and there is a long list of things. Basically all I can eat are fresh fruits and vegetables and cooked meat no longer than 24 hours old. I just found out about this and am…

Kashi waffles are very tasty. I prefer the original and add my own fruits if I want them. This way it is a little less calories than having the dried fruits in them. I can't have dried fruits anyways because I have a yeast and mold food allergy. I am not sure I can even have the waffles any longer I just recently found out…

I did a few online ones and we did not do eliminations. However, we would separate the people into teams and each week everyone needed to weigh in or they would be removed from the contest. Upon weighing in we would figure out the percentage of weight lost for each team. Then the team with the highest percentage won for…

I would just chuck it up as a loss and move on and eat healthy tomorrow. It isn't worth hurting yourself over one day isn't going to completely throw you off of your diet!!

I use a lot of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and I have also used a lot of different Prevention aerobic dvd's. I haven't tried the hip hop abs but it looks kind of fun.

Look at what type of foods you are eating prior to 2pm. You may be eating too much sugar or high carb foods in the morning which is making your blood sugars crash or be too high in the afternoon which can make you hungry. I used to be like this but when I made sure that I had a good mix and protein with every meal then I…

I would say that you are doing enough. But you may want to switch around your days to change up your routine. Depends on how long you have been doing this routine your body may be getting used to it and you just need to trick it by switching around your days to change it up a little. You may want to incorporate something…

That does sound like great motivation. I have to use my internal voice to keep me going but it usually works for the most part. I just keep telling myself that I am doing this to become a healthier me and I can rest after my workout. It keeps me at the brisk pace that I need to be during my walking and when I want to quit…

Sounds like you are still doing what MFP recommended calorie wise beings how you haven't changed anything if this is my understanding of your post. When we change our lifestyle it takes our bodies awhile to adjust and it sound like yours has finally adjusted to the new calorie intake and is allowing you to lose weight.…

I have been basically working out 6 - 7 days a week with cardio and eating healthier. I count my calories and try to stay away from processed foods and just stick to organic or natural foods (around the perimeter) of the grocery store. I do allow myself some indulgences every once in awhile but I have to earn them with…

I am actually proud of myself for overcoming what I did today. I sat down in front of the tv early this afternoon and had a box of wheat thins in front of me which I usually don't do because of mindless eating. Well I ended up eating six servings of the wheat thins before I realized what I was doing. I quickly put the box…

I like to have fresh fruit and veggie trays to help keep calories minimal. However, if you are having a wide variety of people I have done in the past a light cream cheese and put it on a cookie sheet and spread it out and pour reduced sodium chili and then top it with some mozzarella for some cheesy flavor and put out…

I like to do cross stitch and crochet. I love that it keeps my hands busy and my mind off of eating. It is a good hobby to pick up to be distracting from mindless snacking in front of the TV. I also love the fact that you can put it in a tote and go and do it while you are waiting for doctors appts and other things. I also…

Congrats on losing the weight!! You are doing great and it is definitely about the lifestyle change because diets don't work and we end up gaining that back. You will be able to learn how to maintain as you lose with the lifestyle change attitude!!

How many servings is this? That way we know how to split it up.

You should be adding all of your calories no matter where they come from. This is so you can track a good balanced diet and one isn't leaning to far. You need a good mixture of carbs, proteins, and fats and in order to do this you need to log everything you put into your mouth for the day even soda's or drinks with…

If I had to go by statistics than I would have to say Jillian. She has had the most biggest losers and the most people in the final with success than Bob. I love both of them and would love the one on one that Bob provides to promote team efficiency but I would think that I need the kicking in the butt from Jillian. I…

Yes, I have lost 16 pounds in four months by logging my food here. I wasn't always consistent at first so that is why such a slow number but it averages out to four pounds a month which is pretty healthy. I would like to get up to an average of 8 pounds or at least 60 pounds per year so I can be at my goal weight in two…

I have noticed this with most of the machines that you use in the gyms. It will either overestimate or underestimate the calories you burn. I mostly use a HRM or like right now I don't have one so I rely on the database and make sure that I take the lower average just to be on the safe side of things.

I mostly use DVD's because I cannot do a whole lot of high impact cardio. The ones that I really use almost daily are Leslie's Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds DVD's. She has several ranging from 1 mile walks with some strength boosters up to 5 to 6 mile walks. I also love her 5 day slim down and her 5 day workout DVD's…

I didn't have much when I went from very little activity to water aerobics. It is a very low impact workout and a lot of times it doesn't even fell like you are working out. If you push through it really gungho you may be a little sore but I didn't really experience anything. It is all about what you put into it. If you…

Keep up the awesome work!!! The scale will eventually reward you. I would recommend to slow down a bit on the water because there is such a thing as too much water at times as well. Just pay attention to what your body needs. It is good to average around 10 - 15 cups of water for your size. I always feel tons better when I…

I just saw the book on this the other day and was wondering the same thing so I would like to hear any responses as well.

You should try to eat all of your exercise calories because MFP already sets a deficit according to your goal of how much weight you want to lose. So it already has you eating 500 - 1000 less calories then your body needs to maintain so if you don't eat your exercise calories then you are making a bigger deficit which will…

I used to have this problem but I started eating all natural foods and started making my own soup in the crockpot to avoid the higher sodium levels. If you shop around the perimeters of your grocery store this is all of the natural foods except the packaged lunch meats. I eat a lot of fresh or frozen veggies instead of…
