Thank you for this! It gives me hoe! I have been convincing myself that once the weather gets better it will be so much easier. Meanwhile I do try to do the app when walking 5Ks this season but you have validated it is okay to go with mostly treadmill. Thank you so much!

Love this idea! I have had a hard time with maintenance but not the way I thought I would! I thought I would gain- I lose because I can't seem to get my mind right to maintain and not have that weekly weigh in "high" of losing pounds. I need this!!! Name: Monica SW:249 CW:140 GW: was 149 Total Weight lost: 111 pounds (goal…
Bumping-- these are great tips :)
Awww thanks for saying that! I really do want to pay it forward because these boards helped me so much! Much of what I said I learned from here!! I'm proud to say I met goal September 2016 and have been in maintenance. It was slow but steady so to anyone frustrated do NOT…

I don't miss one single thing about being overweight. I can't even say I miss a specific food because I did not eliminate any foods-I just focus on portion control and not eating my favorite every single day. Yes, it's harder to stay slim but far far more rewarding.

Thank you for the nice compliment! I really appreciate you and everyone who took time out to say such nice things! Regarding tribulations I think the first thing that came to mind was when going through the process of shifting towards a true change in lifestyle was the fact that the process seemed slow at the time. By that…

I think what helped me the most is that I truly looked at this as a lifestyle change. Keeping in mind previously I did not like that phrase but now I get it. Those weeks when I got on the scale and there was no movement I got off and continued counting calories because there was no diet to get off of- I had truly…

Thank you! I am 5'5.

I was so glad to see this post. I reached my goal one week ago (total loss 100 pounds from 249 to 149) and adjusted calories to maintenance. I was shocked to see it go from 1340 (1 pound loss a week as goal) to 1660. I don't know how to maintain all I know how to do is try to lose as odd as it sounds... I read on the…

We are very similar. I am 5/6 started at 249 July 2015 with a goal weight of 149 for a 100 pound weight loss. Monday, September 26 I FINALLY hit the goal and I say finally because the last 5 pounds were suuuuppperrr stubborn llol. Funny I saw your post because I am terrified of maintenance...scared I either know how to…

My AHA Moment- When my husband and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas and the day before departing I got on the scale to see it read 249- and I am just 5'5. I had a miserable time because I knew I couldn't go skydiving with my husband due to the 250 weight limit. I was embarrassed but told all I was scared. It was a…

Freeing is the perfect word! It is the best AHA moment ever!!!!!

Love these but I have to say my favorite I am "stealing" for my list that is so true is about messing up-you have to forgive yourself and not feel like it is "over"!

I agree that 40s is sooo different. I think the best thing about it being slower is that according to research it is more likely to stay off! I read a post on the MFP board once about when your weight stalls-that it really isn't a plateau or stall. It's just the way our body reacts. Hang in there and I guarantee that…

I turn 43 next Saturday (August 27th) and have lost 92 pounds since July 2015. I have a goal of 100 pounds and slowly but surely plan to reach it. I don't work out- I hate working out but I do strive to meet my daily step goal with my Fitbit. I eat what I want when I want within my calorie limits. Just like a money account…

Congratulations on your 25 pounds! That is huge!! There are many people who would give their right arm for that! You should be so proud! No matter what keep reminding yourself slow and steady really does win the race- you will get to where you want but enjoy yourself along the way. By that I just mean celebrate every size…
