Hello all, my name is Kevin and I have been on MFP off and on for a few years now. Currently I have been on track for about two months and am training to run a 1/2 Marathon (will be my 5th one) in Feb. I am always looking for more supportive friends on MFP to help with this journey.

I am a runner too, my wife and I are currently training for a 1/2 marathon at Disney World in Feb. Feel free to add me.

Always willing to add more friends to help encourage on this journey. Feel free to add me.

This is great story, it sounds like something I would have done as a kid. The response from my mother would have been the same too. I spent many a night sitting at the dinner table "until I made a happy plate". Now as an adult who has spent most of my life struggling with my weight I realize part of the issue is that I'm…

I am also planning to do my first tri this year as well, actual three of them. My A race is going to be the Beach to Battleship 1/2 Ironman in Oct. I have run several 1/2 marathons in the past and am a strong swimmer and biker so this seems to be the next logical step (or insane time will tell). I am doing a few warm up…

Circut training is probably closest but I agree a HR monitor is going to be best. Some of the days are going to burn a lot more calories than others (Plyo - X being the biggest burner)

I am in Nashville TN :)

I had a couple of experiences like this when I was at my heaviest. The one that helped finally motivate me to loose weight was when I was flying to Chicago to see family and I was almost not able to buckle the seat belt on the airplane. The flight attendant (or whatever the PC name is now) was standing there staring at me…

Anytime you have to include "please, do not think i am trying to be offensive" in something you are saying you should probably just go ahead not say it. The reason we are all on this site is not only to track our progress but to get the support of others. Getting a simple way to go from an online friend goes a long way in…

The best place to start any journey is with a single step. When I first started I took a long look at everything I was doing related to eating and changed one thing. In my case that was giving up regular soda (or pop or Coke depending on what part of the country you are in). That change helped me loose a little weight,…

Feel free to add me, I'm always looking for more stalkers :)

Feel free to add me, I am trying to loose about 50 also and always welcome new friends

The goal is the run this half marathon in less time than it took to run the first one 2:40:56 (is it strange that i don't even have to look that up). So to answer the question of what I'll be doing, mostly a lot of running about 25 miles a week as I get closer to the date of the race. But I also plan on doing a lot of…

I am 38 and have been on MFP for a while but have just recently started to tap into the resource of encouragement other users can provide. It's a great help along the way. Feel free to add me, I am on daily and do my best to encourage all my friends.

I have the same issue running on a treadmill, just too boring. I just put the headphones in turn up the volume and try to push through. I have even tried bundling up and running outside anyway.
