  • Pretty interesting. I actually guessed down 3 sizes on purpose because I know that I don't see myself as I am. And even with that, I was still off 15% off. Thanks for sharing the link
  • Completely unexpected, lol. I knew someone would have started this thread.
  • I completely agree with you on this. My cal ranges from 1300 to 2100. It balances out. There are days where I couldn't eat 2100 if I tried and there are some , usually intense workout days where the hunger increases a lot. I just follow it and try not to fight the inclination.
  • I needed to read that! I am 5/2-3 and 186. I don't feel as fat as I am but that is mainly because I am a pear and usually use mirrors from the waist up. I've lost a bit, but have so much more to lose.
  • Please add me. I love fitness talk
  • Doesn't 7 kg equal like 15.4 lbs??
  • There is no way someone could lose 15lbs in a healthy manner. For those of you looking for sources, I don't think it matters. Weight loss isn't guaranteed by the gym or surgery and it requires hard work and effort no matter what you do. Obviously she feels that the surgery is her best option at this point, but what I find…
  • 52 is not even old. My knees hurt sometimes and I still go out. There are a bunch of reasons why we can't do something. Yesterday I woke up later than usual to go for a walk and the sun was blazing. I still went out, just not for as long and I felt good. I know ppl that have excuses for everything but at the end of the…
  • Whew... Thanks! I was just reading this article with Vanessa Mannilo and she gained 65 lbs.... But I guess I would just continue to eat healthy and not throw all caution to the wind. Thanks a lot, you ladies really helped nip that fear in the bud
  • I have a sugar addiction for sure. I don't keep it in the house. AT ALL. Seriously. If I am craving sweets, I will stop by the store on the way home and get some chocolate. But there are only so many times that I will go to the store and buy something "bad" because I am a bit self conscious of buying crap food. I also only…
  • I think that anyone that makes a broad statement like that is flat out wrong. He does make some good points, but ppl can get injured with weights and doing interval training. And the exercise reward eating can come from any form of exercise really. I say do whatever works for you.
  • I wouldn't worry. I also wouldn't weigh myself everyday, maybe weekly. You shouldn't lose more than 2 lbs per week after the first few weeks of starting a program. If you are a month into a plan, I would consider altering your numbers a bit because you may be cutting too much or exercising too much. But if you are just…
  • I agree. I have read in numerous magazines that you should try something for at least 4 weeks to see if it's working before modifying it. I would also do measurements every month, scale at most every week. I find that one of the keys to weight loss is making small changes and staying busy doing other things. Sustainable…
  • I agree with this. You really have to want it as they say. It's nice to have some support but at the end of the day it is all about you, how much you want it and how you deal with stress and temptation when it comes to foods that you know aren't good for you. Even with a reason like diabetes or lowering your cholesterol,…
  • Welcome to MyFitnessPal. This is definitely a place where you will be able to find support and friends that are going through the same thing that you are. I find that a lot of my friends in the real world are not trying to be too healthy and not trying to lose weight so this is definitely a place to find that support. Feel…
  • I agree. The whole nonsense with James Galdofini and how his last meal was scrutinized. I feel bad for him, his legacy and his family because it's kind of crazy to have all of those sensitive details to be released about someone after death. When does it stop.
  • True you can't spot reduce, but increased core exercises, planks, crunches, etc will help tighten, improve posture, etc and could give the illusion of a flatter tummy. I think that you need to focus on lowering your body fat percentage and dedicate some time daily to core work. Pilates also helps.
  • Welcome! I would start as slowly or quickly as you need to. You have time. It's really easy and you can start by just not eating meat. Not sure how you eat now. My meals- Breakfast Cereal, fruit, soy milk .. Lunch- salad, or chili, or any plethora of sandwiches. Dinner- Pasta or beans and rice and tofu. Snacks apple or…
  • I think you need to write down why you are doing it. Vanity and looking good can only get you so far and it can lead you to doing it the wrong way. Weight loss takes time, especially if you have yo yo'd. Just start making small changes and at a certain point it will just click. That's what I did. When I reached my highest…
  • I have the same butt measurement and at the present time, I don't wear jeans. I wear cargo, slacks, sweats, anything else. I used to wear baby phat years ago, but I really detest the embellishments. But those were jeans for pears, they were amazing. I still have 2 pairs for when I drop another size... I heard JLO makes…
  • I'm sorry, but for each pound that I lose, I'm pretty into myself. You have to love yourself before you can love others. Who cares why you posted it, kudos to you, and that deb downer has another reason for posting that, perhaps to bring down your happy feeling or maybe they were having a bad day, but who needs that. I…
  • LMAO at the tequila....
  • Hmm.. if he was cute it may have been hot and a great story to tell ppl how you met.. I have I thing for jerks though
  • Thank you for that! hahahaha. Pretty funny
  • I don't think these posters think that Costa Rico is Mexico, just offering another suggestion.
  • lmao, I would never go to Mexico for dental work. Why not shop around for better deals, get credit or pay it off slowly. I think it is questionable when you go to another country for medical services but ppl do it all the time. One of my friends went to DR for body work.I wouldn't go to Mexico now b/c it has been in the…
  • I find that weight loss is about trial and error. If you find yourself gaining weight then go back to what you are doing before. I try to take everything in stride. The words "scared" and "terrified" made me comment. Remember that cortisol is the stress hormone and can lead to weight gain.
  • Seriously they are hating. I don't talk about what I eat, but I decline office junk (when I can). I have a bad habit of talking about cravings, but for me if I talk about them, I'm less likely to indulge. Besides that, people comment on my health food, and I smile. I know what I am doing and why, so I can care less. I am…
  • I am in the same place as you, 4 months and the scale hasn't moved, but I am still fine tuning and making changes. I know that I haven't been 100% consistent. You shouldn't give up. It's not about just pounds but getting healthy. What TYPE of foods are you eating, lots of fresh veggies, or processed foods,, like triscuits…
