Woke up to 34 degrees in the Washington DC area this morning. It's supposed to get up to 54 degrees today but there will be 20 mph winds so it won't feel that warm. We had two warm days at the beginning of the month but it's been cold, rainy and/or snowy for the rest of the month. Yesterday we had hope because it was 57…

The best advice I received was to view it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. In order to fully achieve long lasting weight loss you have to change your life (your relationship with food, eating healthy, exercise, emotions). The best thing I can tell someone else who needs to lose a large amount of weight is to try…

I suffer from Anxiety and was treated for depression in the past. I do find that exercising helped to control the anxiety. I haven't been to the gym in a few months and I find that my anxiety is increasing. If you can't go a gym, find an exercise video that you can do from home. It might help.

The doctor was wrong to lie and if he has no medical reason to move her to another hospital, she should be allowed to have her baby there. Although I do agree that at 353 pounds she is not healthy and should stop lying to herself. I estimate that my older sister weighs anywhere between 425-525 pounds. She refuses to lose…

Sometimes I'll drink a shake before heading to the gym if I'm a little hungry but don't want eat anything too heavy before going. I usually drink one after going to the gym for the muscle repair benefit and because I often don't eat enough protein. It also helps to curb my appetite after a workout .

I prefer white rice but I have learned to enjoy brown rice as well. I've found a few recipes to make it a little tastier and I've also learned which brands to buy and which ones to stay away from.

Try to lose close to 100 pounds. Down 26 due to MFP and I'm looking forward to losing another 26. Feel free to add me.

Not from NC but I travel there frequently to visit college friends and family. Rocky Mount/Wilson area.

Welcome to MFP. Feel free to add me.

For me it'll be buying a smaller bra. Let's just say I've been really blessed with the girls and I'm still wearing the same bras from 26 pounds ago. Yes, I know it's time to buy some ones but I'll be happy when I'm permanently in a new size.

As an admitted soda addict, I had to gradually reduce the amount of soda I consumed each day. I bought one 12 pack of soda and the first two days I drank only one can. The next day using a measuring cup, I went from 12 ounces to 8 ounces and did that for 2 days. Next 2 days, I went to 6 ounces, next 4 ounces (you see where…

A former co-worker who saw my college graduation picture and said you USED to be so pretty. I thought to myself, well what the hell am I now??

Don't let this ladies stop you from making your resolution work. As a single mom, I probably would've said the same thing to the young lady who wanted to have a baby. While it is her business, you were just expressing your concerning and telling her that when it comes to having children things are always rosy. As for the…

Fish Tacos are awesome. I also use non-fat plain yogurt in place of sour cream. Fish tacos go well with cabbage so you can buy the pre-packaged cabbage mix and add some seasoned black beans. TASTY!

Welcome Back. I'm down 27 where I've been for quite a few months. Now I'm ready to push forward and lose another 27. Feel free to add me.

Welcome and Good luck on your journey. I'm down 27 and while I could stand to lose 100 pounds I'm doing it in increments so that I don't feel quite so overwhelmed. Feel free to add me.

I was unemployed for a little over three years (I recently celebrated my 90 days of emplacement). My budget was and continues to be tight. During my last year of unemployment, I lost 27 pounds. I make a lot of soups and stews using lots of veggies, lean meats and dried beans. I couldn't afford to eat out much so I made my…

For me it was when I was diagnosed with High blood pressure and although my doctor told me it was most likely stress induced (job loss) I knew that the extra weight I was carrying wasn't going to help the situation. I knew I needed to make a change.

My kid is 14 and her socks never match anything that she's wearing. Even when they're teenagers they have their own style.
-
I read that the Kid's edition will be very different from the adult version. For example, the kid's will not be living on the ranch and will not be part of the drama that we've seen in previous seasons.

I'm just across the line in Maryland. Feel free to send me friend request.

Since my sisters have bigger families that I do (it's just me and my daughter), I allow them to take most of the leftover food home with them. My daughter and I will take something that can be eaten for lunch or dinner the next day but nothing more.

Eat something before going so that you don't devour everything in sight. Exercise early in the day to offset some of your calories. Avoid drinking alcohol during the party. (I always give away my drink tickets) I eat lightly throughout the week and get in some extra exercise so that if I do indulge at the party I'll have…

20 with 22 years of experience but if you ask the government, they'll say 42.

I understand how you feel. I was laid off in July 2009 and worked a series of temporary positions until I landed a full-time job in October 2011 which ended in January 2012 because they didn't have enough work to substantiate the position. Keep your head up and keep trying. Will keep you in prayer.

I'm lazy and I like to eat.

A few years ago, my boyfriend asked me to go to a co-workers bbq with him. I was sitting at a table a few rows away from a small group of people and apparently one of the girls in the group at significantly more than the other people in her group. Someone in the group said something to her about the amount of food she had…

While I am a soda drinker, I had to LEARN and TRAIN myself to go without one for the sake of my health. I honestly don't think it's the government's job to regulate these things. I'm not here on MFP because I could drink a 32 oz soda, I'm here because I did drink them (among eating other unhealthy things). Once we open the…
