Keep in mind that most of the foods / dietary info in MFP database are input by members. I often find the info incorrect. Go by the packaging and if you don't need the other nutritional info like fat or sodium, then I would just do a quick cal input when logging your grits. P.S. I love my grits too, esp. with garlic salt…

We roast ours in oven at 325. I lightly coat them in olive oil (it really doesn't take much) and then season them with salt and other spices like garlic or curry and even chili powder (my hubby likes spicy ones). The key is low temp and stir often. Hope this helps! Enjoy!

Log in your food and exercise religiously. That way if you feel like things aren't progressing as you'd like them to you can look back and probably figure it out! Also, share with your MFP friends what you're feeling. We are here to help and support!:smile:
