Hi everone, bit late joining in but I'm doing a fast during Lent (started Ash Wed in Feb) I'm a Methodist and progressive Christian. This year I'm doing a Ramadan-style fast between sunrise & sunset (checking those times daily!). But I am allowing myself other sensible drinks during the day. I then have a sensible evening…

I am, but slightly adapted - I allow other sensible drinks between sunrise & sunset - I check the times daily. So far, so good. It's really making me think about food differently, breaking the grazing habit! Yes I'm losing a bit of weight but that's not the primary reason for doing this. I don't fast on Sundays. I'm a…

So far, so good! Fasting between sunrise & sunset (Ramadan style) then eating a sensible meal in the evening. But I'm allowing myself sensible drinks during the day . And not fasting on Sundays. I'm a progressive Christian so I'm finding my own way through Lent!

Hi @walk2health4me, I agree with the above post, it sounds as though you are eating too little normally. I think if you are learning to use your insulin pen, you should be getting advice from your doctor, or health advisor until you know what you are doing, not from us amateurs here! I also drive MFP nuts as I have been on…

I've just turned 54, I've been on the Depo Provera jab for quite a few years so I've had no periods and, tbh, hardly any menopausal symptoms - at least I don't think I have! Bit hot sometimes during the night, but nothing unbearable. But now I've been told I have to come off the jabs and I'm really not relishing the idea.…

I'm interested to read this. I've been umming and errring for a while about it, thanks.

Mmmm mmmm that looks delicious!

Tonight I am resorting to a low-cal ready-meal - I've had a really busy, long day and I'm out again to a meeting this evening - I just don't have the energy to cook :O(
-
Mmmm that sounds tasty and nutritious! Good choice!

Mmmm sausages, always a good choice from the satisfaction point-of-view, though a bit naughty! Poached egg with them sounds delicious and chips of course! Not heard of this Actifry - how was it? Hope you're feeling better for your trip.

Good idea to add lentils and veg to bulk it out and reduce the per-portion fat % and, as you say, healthier and more filling

We ended up having chilli, made with extra lean beef mince, loads of vegetables, beans and chickpeas and we shared a packet of Tilda microwave brown basmati rice. Really warming and filling and I feel, a "good use" of calories - low fat and high fibre!

Thanks, this could be useful

Probably a bit late in the day to be posting a goal for today, but here it is ... it's a two-parter .... (building the tension nicely!) ... 1 get rid of this wretched headache 2 let go of the need to log-in everyday while I'm under stress at work and with our show this week. I've decided to have a week off from logging my…

Hi, Thanks for the invite. I'm Sue and live just outside Brighton on the South Coast of the UK. I'm 52 - I really can't get used to that ... me - 52? Never! lol! I have two grown-up sons who live nearby and a lovely husband (we've been married almost 33 years). I have struggled to be in control of my weight for many years.…

I have a huge pile of books waiting to be read, this isn't one of them ... and won't be from what I've heard!

I think the gym might be a rather dangerous place - good job I don't go!

rofl! Shouldn't laugh at others' misfortune but given the circumstances I think it's allowed! Avenue Q 'Schadenfreude' anyone? lol!

Hiya, I love anything creative; painting (acrylic - though haven't done any for a while), poetry, song-writing, knit, crochet, weaving, quilting/patchwork, bit of jewellery (again not recently) and I run the craft side of an Art & Craft club at our church as well as co-organiser for an Art Exhibition as part of the…

Great idea, want to find this again to try them. Thanks!

Just outside Brighton, heading in your direction!

Good, glad your head is feeling better. If the tiredness doesn't resolve soon, maybe you should get yourself checked out - maybe a bit of anemia? Good luck :O)
-
Well from here, it kinda feels like you're just shouting at me. And I can do without that, thanks. I'm sorry if I got it wrong and you're not angry - it just seemed like that from the way it came over. You got me! I don't feel there's any point in my even trying to answer your questions - I don't presume to have all the…

You seem very angry! I thought this was a discussion site. I do not believe that everything reported in the Gospels and particularly what Jesus "said" can possibly all be accurate - it was written down at least 50 years after Jesus died, the people writing the Gospels did not follow him around with a notebook. I have…

I think this has everything to do with Christianity, in that it is saying that some Christians do not read and understand the very book they site as the reason to reject homosexual people. It is trying to break the oft-repeated stereotype that "Christians think homosexuality is a sin and hate homosexuals" This mother…
