  • I agree with the poster who suggested contacting Fitbit directly. Their customer service is excellent. They replaced my defective Fitbit free of charge and very quickly. A friend of mine, broke hers and it was also replaced, free of charge!
  • How in the heck do they get ketones from raspberries is what I would like to know? In humans you make ketones when you eat tons of protein, it comes out in your urine. Just a little fact you might want to ponder.
  • I am currently working on ruining my body in much the same manner! Oh and you could get a can of pink spray paint I suppose!:flowerforyou: glad you showed how a ruined body should look!
  • 55yo, working in dialysis, mostly evenings. I have tried many of the usual culprits for weight loss. WW too many times to remember, Nutrisytem, Beverley Hills and a couple of others. Right now working on eating a healthy well balanced diet. Focusing on getting my proteins, carbs and fats balanced and eating lower sodium. I…
  • I am on it for migraines as well. It has cut the frequency of my migraines from 4-5 a week to 6-7 a month. That is a significant drop. I do have the side effects of tingling in my feet and hands, shortly after taking it, not consistently though. And the worst side effect for me is the word loss. It is effecting how I…
  • I suffer from migraines and am currently being treated by a neurologist who specializes in headache/migraine treatment. My suggestion to you is to get a referral to someone who treats headaches. They will work with you to treat your headaches in a preventative fashion. While there are truly people out there with Gluten…
  • To the original poster, you mentioned a bad back and scoliosis. So in that light if you are serious about muscle building you have to learn how to do strength training safely while protecting your back. It can be done. Invest your dollars in a trainer who has experience with working with someone with your specific…
  • I voted but I sure hope that we can order more than one colour one day. And neon colours would be fantastic (former 80s child!)
  • t can report that customer service with Fitbit is excellent. I purchased mine at the beginning of May. It never synced properly from day 1. I had issues with syncing wirelessly, would have to put the thing on the little dock to sync and then it stopped. Several emails and some trouble shooting later they sent me a…

  • I have mine synced with MFP but I only log my food here. I am not sure how to have my diary from MFP follow over onto my Fitbit page but I don't mind really. I don't have anything set up on the fitbit page really other than a weigh in and my basic info. I was concerned about the calories at first but really don't pay…
  • So I am still bypassing the scale! What I did do today is measurements, happy day as I have found out I have lost 11 inches off my body. This is so fantastic.
  • I have a Fitbit, love it for it's simplicity. I also wear mine on my bra. One thing not mentioned is customer service. My Fitbit is not syncing without me jumping through hoops! I have been emailing back and forth with customer service for the past couple of weeks and they are now sending me a whole new Fitbit. It seems…
  • I have a Fitbit and have been using it for about 6 weeks now. I have also been doing EM2WL for about 8 weeks. I do have my Fitbit synced to MFP. I don't really pay much attention to the calorie burn on the fitbit. I don't use their site for tracking food either or weighing in. I just use my fitbit to track my steps taken,…
  • I am in the menopause group, I can honestly say that while the scale is moving at a snails pace downward I am feeling so much better in all other areas. I have so much more energy now. I sleep so much better and believe me that is something most women in menopause and pre menopause will complain bitterly about, lack of…
  • What are you doing exercise wise? I started at the beginning of May, have not really lost much. About 4 weeks ago I started working with a trainer to lift weights. I had done weights before with this trainer but had stopped so I felt the need to have a trainer work with me. I don't want to injure myself plus I need someone…
  • Correct me if I am wrong here, but are you eating TDEE -15% based on 5-6 hours??? if so and you are exercising more hours then you should be upping your calories to match your hours, so move to the 7-21 hours category of TDEE-15% if that is where your exercise level is. Sounds like you are having a blast with all that…
  • Isn't it great to see someone you can relate to or aspire to be in the gym! Congrats on being where you are right now!!! One day someone will be looking at you in the same way, who knows maybe someone already is??? ;D
  • I am not sure how to answer that. I just know that they are measuring the time of exercise. I did do an experiment with the numbers. I have a Fit bit. It is a little pedometer like gadget that measures steps, stairs climbed, calories burned, distance and my sleep patterns. Once a week I get a summary of it all. Someone on…
  • No you don't eat your calories back unless you are more active that usual. If you have your setting for 1-3 hours and you realize you are actually doing 4 hours a week, move up a level. The girls say it is better to overestimate your calories. So in reading your responses your BMR is 1734, Your TDEE at 3-4 hours of…
  • Oh and when you get to it, you can change your setting manually on your food tracker. So set your macros for protein to 30%, carbs 40% and fats 30%. You can set others too, if you want to track sugar or sodium etc. I track my fibre and have it set for 30mg, as the setting they have is wimpy!! You can also turn off the…
  • So I went to the scooby site and just plugged in your numbers with different exercise levels. First of all, never eat below BMR. So for you your BMR is 1734, that is the number of calories your body burns at total rest just breathing basically. You should never net below that because if you do, your body will continue to…
  • Hi , your numbers seem a little bit off, you are eating under your BMR according to your post. How many hours are you active a week? This is important for the calculations on the scooby site. Have you read through the sticky pin notes at the beginning of the discussions? There are also videos to watch as well. I know that…
  • I totally agree with the above poster. No one ever sees the scale but you and maybe your doctor once a year. But people see YOU every day. And if you have lost inches that means you LOOK SMALLER, TRIMMER and SEXIER!!! I would say put the scale away, give it to charity put it in the trunk of your hubbys car. Just stop…
  • I am not familiar with Fage products, but I am using a greek yogourt that has 2% fat in it. I used to do the 0% fat for dairy all the time and it is difficult to wrap your head around full fat, you can do it though. I am also eating cottage cheese 2% now as well. i don't drink milk, but I do drink Almond milk. Your diet is…
  • Thanks for the great Ideas. Noor, so sorry your weather is cool and wet, I would love some rain about now! I will package up some sun and heat and send it on to you! I do have protein shakes for breakfast right now, facing an egg and toast breakfast just doesn't appeal in the heat. Lunch today was a ham, cheddar and…
  • Can you make up a batch of homemade soup on the weekend and freeze it in lunch size portions? You control the sodium that is added or not to it. Lots of fabulous soup recipes out there and so easy to make in even the smallest of kitchens. I also routinely cook more for dinner than we need! 3 adults in our house but I often…
  • It is a tough decision. I think you should decide what you want for the short term and long term. In other words what are your goals. You mentioned that the Half was your goal and now you are torn because you are thinking that getting healthy and strong is more of a priority. So you need to list your goals and prioritize…
  • According to the scoobys site, yes you do recalculate your numbers for every 5lbs lost. I have a notebook to keep track of the numbers in. It has my bmr, tdee etc plus my measurements, weights. I am also starting to keep track of websites, names of books, good suggestions, hints in there too.
  • She is amazing! So inspiring to watch that video.
  • The list is fantastic!!! Just to clarify the macros, it is 40/30/30 so it adds up to 100%. I believe it is 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein. I have found that if I include protein with every meal and snack, the other two seem to follow nicely. Protein helps to keep you feeling full too.
