^^^^^^ ME, TOO!! (And I love the pic, too. lol)

Guessing you are on the short side? Anyway, you looked fine at 124, but, damn girl, you look FIT at 137! WTG!! :drinker:

Don't think of it as "I have to lose 60 lbs!" That can sound overwhelming. Start by making small changes, setting attainable short-term goals (lose 5 lbs). Do a little exercise... if it's 5 or 10 minutes of walking, that's great. If it's 10 situps and you're done for, whatever. Just keep at it. Small changes can make a…

Uh, which is why all cave men were thought to be obese? (Not.) I have no problem with the "grazing" method, either, but to say hunger will cause you to store fat and eat muscle... that's just silly.
-
^^Agree. OP, you do have this. For some, this method might not work. It might lead to overeating because they are so not used to feeling hungry that it "feels" much worse than it is. Also, if you have some medical issues (diabetes), it could be a factor. But good grief, hunger pains are the natural way for the body to say…

what a beautiful family! congrats, you look awesome! i love how you included your kids rather than using them as an excuse as to why you couldn't/didn't eat healthy, exercise, etc! what a great role model you are for them.

Welcome! You might go through the Groups (Community tab, then Groups) to see if there are any that fit your interests. Also, and I don't remember the name now, there are websites to find groups of people with similar interests locally that go out and do stuff together. I'm not talking about a dating site, it's just a…

Very sensible!!! If you are aiming for HEALTH, not just weight loss, then it's important to include both kinds of training because they have different benefits for your body. Cardio is short for "cardiovascular". Keeping it simple, cardio exercise keeps your heart and lungs strong and healthy. Resistance/strength training…

You've received some great references and help from the other posters, but I'm not sure if you got this one (didn't read through all posts thoroughly). You could start with good old-fashioned calisthenics! I mean, if it's good enough for the military (ancient and modern), why isn't it good enough now? You can do them at…

^^ This!!! You go, girl!!!!!! I wanted to do Stronglifts, but I work out at home in my basement - I'm fortunate enough to have a room dedicated to exercise - but the ceiling is too low for a bar with weights on it (not to mention the ductwork and lights)! So, I stick with my dumbbells. Believe me, dumbbells are no joke,…

A good relationship with food, you mean?

OMG that looks soooo good!

My husband is actually the one who could no longer have children. He told me at the time we became intimate. I thought that was appropriate. For us, the relationship was obviously taking a serious turn and it needed to be out there. But, if he had told me on the first date... or anytime before it looked like the…

Sweet mother! You look awesome!

Me, too. My weakest time of day is after I get home and before dinner. I just want to snack, snack, snack. I've learned to mostly curb it over time and snack on healthier things - a few nuts, some fruit - but it still is there. On bad days, I pop in some Crest whitestrips. It keeps me from eating and mentally is all…

I don't know about specific foods at specific times, but it is true that some foods just do not "satisfy" me anymore, regardless of quantity or calories. For example, I just rarely ever eat a fast food hamburger anymore (from any chain). I love me a good hamburger and fries on occassion, but even when it fits into my…

^^^ Love this! You are doing a fantastic job and it SHOWS! Eh, the universe has a strange sense of humor sometimes. Use it to challenge yourself to keep going!

Loved the post. Loved the pics. Just so much awesome-ness. You go girl! :drinker:

Very awesome. You not only look fabulous, but you look like you FEEL fabulous now.

Awesome results!! And, I thought the title was hilarious… especially when I saw the after pics. Keep it up!!! I want to think I can be that healthy in another decade, too.

Guys, maybe she could have pointed it out in her post, but looks like she's used to the METRIC system, thus "cups" might be a little "wtf?" for her. Thanks to those who noticed and gave her the correct conversions.

I read your profile and am so happy that you have finally been able to lose the weight. You would be an excellent supporter for those considering/having Gastric Bypass! I know a number of people who have had the surgery, but most did not really try a long term healthy life style change before jumping into the surgery. And…

Ditto!

Definitely a tough workout, but you CAN do it... do it at your level, make an honest effort (you need to sweat, ya know? :), and you will feel so accomplished at the end! - How many calories do you burn at 20 mins of Level 1?? Answer: Completely depends on your level of effort, your age, your weight, etc. It's all about…

I think it's awesome that you've decided to add exercise into your lifestyle. Yes, you can lose weight without exercising, but unless you have an already active lifestyle, adding exercise will definitely improve your overall health. Forming good habits now will make a huge difference as you get older. First, you need to…

YES!!! The usual age, without family or personal history of problems, is 50.

Not sure what number you're up to, but I will be getting my first one done later this year!
