You look georgeous!

Yeah, pretty much, if I want to keep the weight off, I will be logging. It's what has worked for me my entire life - way before there were these nifty internet sites… way before there was an internet! I started with a calorie book and a steno pad, then progressed to an Excel spreadsheet, then the wonder of the…

HAHAHAHAHAHA… oh… you're serious? I think that happened to me… once… when I was sick.

I didn't like pictures of myself, but that wasn't enough. I hated clothes shopping, but that wasn't enough. I couldn't do some yoga poses because the fat was getting in the way (still flexible, though), but that wasn't enough. It was my annual physical when my doctor laid out the numbers for me. Yes, everything was in the…

We must be married to the same man. The first two weeks I started seriously changing the way I ate, he was actually sort of angry about it. I said "Hey, eat what I make or make your own meals. Makes no difference to me." He got over it and has since lost several pounds himself since he's too lazy to cook a separate…

^^This, generally. You can also make a decision based on your workout for the day. If you did a lot of cardio, then taking in more carbs isn't going hurt the day. If you did strength training, then you might want to take in the extra protein. You're not talking many calories if you're saying egg whites and a bit of milk!

If you have the chance to stop in at your doctor's office to do a quick weight, that would be the best thing to "level set" an accurate (or more accurate) weight for yourself. My scales at home weigh me 3 lbs heavier than my doctor's office scales. It's a bummer, but maybe this scale could be more accurate? If not, then by…

Seriously, that is awesome! You have come so far in a short amount of time! I bet you are feeling healthier by the day, as well. Congratulations on your growing family, too!

Definitely, DEFINITELY report this!!!!!!!

^^ This. I was shocked when I first began logging and using my scale how much difference there was in what I thought the portion size was and how much it really was. I'm much better now that I've spent a lot of time using my scale. I am in "maintenance" mode and I no longer log/weigh food on weekends, but I still do every…

That's so nice! Yes, I think it's funny that people think there must have some big secret or new diet plan and seem surprised to find out it's just back to the basics of eating right and exercising! LOL

Funny, even though I'm a pear and have always had plenty of bum, but not much on top ;), I honestly didn't think TOO much about it when I was young and thin. The biggest pain was finding cute blouses that fit nicely (this was before everything had spandex ;0) and pants that went over my backside, but weren't too big in the…

so sincere, so true. fabulous read!

Almonds pretty much any way except too salty! Cocoa ones are awesome, but usually I buy the raw ones.

Sweet!

Definitely exfoliate 2-3 times a week. You can do this "chemically" (products with alpha-hydroxy, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid) or "physically" (scrubs, loofah sponges), or by using a combination of methods. Use a good moisturizer. My skin is horrible in the winter, so I need a pretty good lotion. Cetaphil is a good…

No good deed shall go unpunished... Maybe you need to set some boundaries/rules on what you are/aren't willing to do for this! Or, just back out completely. I dunno... unless maybe you can work some of these folks into your client base.

OMG. Great way to end my work day. Thanks. Going home now. Will log dinner later.

That ... is... awesome!!!! I buy the ones from Sam's but they have breading, too, which really ups the calories... and more sodium. THIS is going to be GREAT!

1) What do you have your activity level set at? Assuming, for example, you have a desk job, you could set it to "sedentary" or "light activity" if you move around a lot. In that case, you would log and eat your excercise calories. Or, you can set your activity level to include your normal activity level, including…

HA! Reminds me of a friend I went out with to dinner one night. She gave the guy like $1 (I guess better than nothing). I can't remember the total of the bill. When another friend asked what was customary tipping now, I - having been the waitress in the past - told her. My "cheap" friend said "Well, I'm trying to raise a…

LOL Good for you! It's the oddest things sometimes that make us happy or inspire us! But, hey, whatever it takes!

Well, I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing my next annual physical results (not til July) after maintaining my weight loss. I have to maintain my weight loss in basically the same way that I attained my weight loss. So, explain to me (seriously, I'm curious) the difference between helping overweight/obsese people…

I don't eat "clean", low-fat, low-carb, or low-glycemic, at least not by intention. I try to eat a reasonable diet. On occasion, by golly, I eat fast food... although I'm sort of picky about it. And while most of the time I eat whole grain (because I LIKE them), I also eat white rice and mashed potatoes if I feel like it.…

^^ This. Be patient. Did you gain all that weight in a week? Don't expect to lose it that fast. There will be weeks you don't lose, weeks you lose a little, weeks you lose a lot. Honestly and consistency is what it takes. You will get there.

GO SEE A DOCTOR! If they don't help or don't seem serious about it or don't recommend it, then see a therapist, too. Sometimes it just takes a shove in the right direction, sometimes more. You have an awareness about your problem. That's the first, big, step. Some people go on forever without realizing their situation.…

^^ Well said. The scale is such a frienemy.
