I find this http://www.exrx.net/Exercise.html a brilliant website for planning routines. It's full of useful info and advice. If you go the the Exercise & Muscle Directory it lists all the exercises you can do for each muscle group.

I'm not a runner, but I get this all the time on the elliptical & the stationary bike. I thought at first I had my laces tied too tight but loosening them didn't make any difference. I do think it's as the previous poster says and it's to do with the pressure on your feet. Unfortunately, I've not been able to come up with…

ahhaaa thats where I'm going wrong. I'm doing my conversions wrong. lbs, oz, g, kg.......I can never remember which one I'm doing!!! It should only be 2.5 lbs, and I've used 2500g thinking it's 2.5kg. Blonde day today I think. Thanks guys.

great profile (something I'm quite envious of)

I second this. I'll have some water, or even a diet soda if I'm craving something sweet. Usually does the trick.

I've found whats helped me is to plan ahead for the weekends. And also to weigh in on a Friday morning. That way, if I see a loss it motivates me to keep going through the weekend. If theres no loss I know I have to knuckle down and get a loss for the following Friday.

will I still have a job tomorrow!!!!

Yes, but not on this site. I was using the SW website. I'm not a member now though so don't have access to those records. It wasn't calorie counting as such though as that's not the basis of SW
-
I've been away from this site for about a year or so, but I've been logging and following SW in the meantime.

Lol try telling that to my scales and ever expanding waistline.

See those numbers terrify me. I've completed my diary for today and I'm just under 1300 cals. I know from experience if I go higher I gain rapidly. Easily 1lb a week. But, even staying at this level I struggle to lose. I've tried so many times upping my calorie intake with lean protein, green veg and healthy foods but it…

I've no idea what a TDEE is, thats a new one on me. But yes, thats me in my avatar. I've gained about 28 lbs since then though. I'm now 110kg and 5ft 10 inches. I was 43 yesterday. I think I was around 210 lbs int that photo, so still heavy.

lol it's not finished for today

hhmmm I think under normal circumstances I could do it all at once. But (I hate to used the word depressed as I think it's bandied around way too much) I dont think mentally I'm able to right now. I'm worried I'm going to set myself up to fail if I try to go 'all out' miss the gym and think whats the point. I think, for…

I know, I know. You're all right. I do know I need to get my gym mojo back. I didn't know if I'd be better doing baby steps and geting my food on track first and then hitting the gym. Or, just going full whack and going for the everything at once. x

Thansk guys, all friend requests are gratefully accepted. The more the merrier :-)

Thanks for the replies. Hows everyone doing with exercise? I used to go to the gym 4-5 times a week but this is something else I'm really struggling to get back into. I'm in a job I HATE and by the time thats over I'm so drained I just have no energy to do anything other than go home. Working out before work isn't an…

no problem, if you have any questions, feel free to pm me and I'll do my best to help (not that I'm an expert mind lol)

It's a book. It gives you a structured strength workout of, I think 7 or 8 stages whch should take about a month each to complete, so you never get bored. I bought mine off Amazon, but if you google you should find it.
-
well done :-) I'll be doing my last workout of stage one tomorrow night and have held off taking any measurements until I completed the first stage. So Saturday morning I'll be at the ready with my tape measure. I can tell without measuring though that it's working already.
-
I'd say you need to include some strength training. I've been doing New Rules of Lifting for Women and am seeing great results.
-
aaahhhh that looks much better now, as I said, I'm not a big eater of carbs through the day so this looks like a much more sensible plan for me now. Thank you :-)
-
Thanks princesschic. I've heard about macros, but I don't really understand them to be honest. Can you explain them in a REALLY SIMPLE way? ;-)

I've had a little tweak of my food for today....added some rice and cheese with my salad and a yogurt, couple more odds and ends. So I'm just over the 1200. But now my protein is way over. I don't really want to reduce that as I'm doing strength training so think it's important for recovery. Does anyone know if this will…

Thanks for the replies guys :-) Peanut butter is wirth a try. I'll get some oatcakes and peanut butter tonight. A good pre workout snack. Hi Lynds8481, yes, I have semi skimmed milk with my porridge, thats included in the calorie allowance. Hey Naomi_84, would the new pots I have at dinner not count as starchy carbs? I try…
