39 years and 9 months . . . . can I still join your club?

I completed the beginner's program and really liked it. I didn't see killer results, but I'm down to that last 10 pounds that don't seem to want to budge, so that could be part of it. I definitely felt stronger, and the workouts are fun, especially fight conditioning.

I don't have an answer for you, but props for this.

This is a very late reply, but I'm curious about this too. I'm in week 5 and I'm taking at least 2 minutes, and sometimes 3 or 4, in between sets, because the weight is getting HEAVY. But my workouts are also getting LONG because of this. I keep reading that folks are doing these workouts in 40 minutes, while mine are more…

in my opinion it is personal choice, but i failed at 55 once before getting it the next session. I figured a jump to 60 would be extreme, so I only went up to 57 (by using elastic bands to attach 1 pound handweights to my barbell--creativity points too!) And I made the 57, so I'm going to try 59 tonight.

Hubby and I are taking the 3 kids to the foodcourt at the mall, and then going to the Sleep Number store to try out a new bed. Who says the romance dies after 15 years? LOL

I have a home gym and I LOVE it. NO waiting for squat racks, no worrying about whether the child care is open, NO excuse that it is too cold outside and I don't want to drive (5 mins) to the YMCA. I inherited a bench and dumbbells from hubby. Then I scoured Craigslist and got a great deal on 2 barbells and a weight set.…

Awesome work! I just started week 5 and failed at my squats for the first time. Frustrating, but I knew it had to happen. Current numbers: Squat: 110 (failed at 115, so will try again) Bench: 72 Rows: 70 I am researching form this week. I think my squat looks good but my bench is not. How the heck do yo row 80 girl? :)

If you are looking at the newest stronglifts pdf from Mendi, there may be more than the 5 total. From what I understand he added back in a couple of "accessory" lifts which were part of the original program and then removed. With these additional "accessory" lifts, workout A is Squat, Bench, Row, Pushups, and reverse…

Am I missing something? I don't see how it is possible do this entire workout in 30 mins once you start lifting heavier, because you HAVE to take longer rest periods. For example, to do 5 sets of 5 reps, I'm finding that I need to rest 3-4 minutes in between sets. That means just the squat part of the workout takes 15 to…

My tummy. I just want it to be flat, and it won't. Sigh.

I'm (happily) married with 3 kids. If someone asked me who came first, hubby or kids, I'd say kids. I hope that isn't messed up. :) But maybe it gives you a little perspective.

No, but only because I like guys.

I tried to like it, but it was waaaay to "dancy" for me. I'm just not that coordinated.

I like home dvd programs too. I've done a bunch of them. Power 90, ChaLean Extreme, Turbo Fire, P90x, Insanity, and Rushfit. I do not know much about Jillian Michaels Body Revolution, but based on your post I think you might really like ChaLean Extreme or Rushfit. Both involve both cardio and strengh traning. ChaLean is 3…

I did a round of Rushfit (dvd workouts--awesome) to give myself a little change of pace, and then started Stronglifts. I enjoy Stronglifts because it is so simple. Some of the NROLFW moves drove me crazy. I do get bored sometimes resting in between sets, but because I work out at home, now I just work on my dance moves…
