I tried C25k because I thought I wanted to be a runner. But my left knee did not approve of my plan. You know what? Pain is not all that fun. I decided to give up on the running. I am perfectly happy now that I "limit" myself to walking, weight training, doing yoga, doing cardio classes, paddleboarding, and…

OP, thank you for this. I'm a lawyer and everywhere I turn I'm reading about the SCOTUS opinion. I clicked on this and got a much needed laugh! :flowerforyou:

Alright guys, I started the next cycle. I kept the DLs, dropped the SLDL's, and added a front squat. My legs were extremely sore the next day, so I think this is the way to go. And its fun to have a new lift, as I don't have a lot of experience with the front squat. Thanks for the great advice!

Hey OP, I did ALL Pro 2 as well. I think I did three cycles. I did it ABAB, and stuck pretty close to the program, except I substituted hip thrusts (wo a barbell) for leg curls. Only because my equipment was poor. I liked it, but I get bored easily, and doing the same thing all the time wore on me. So too did the 4 days…

Thanks for the suggestion Jimmer! I'll let you know what I decide to do. I really appreciate your input.

Well I did 3 weeks with the DLs, and this week is my "deload week." I like it this way, although doing both DLs and SLDL (as an accessory lift) is tough. I'm going to try another cycle with the DLs but not use SLDL as an accessory and see how it goes. After that, I may try switching squats for the DLs, just to keep things…

Thank you Pandora! I'm giving it a go with the DL for at least the first cycle. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I really appreciate the feedback!. :flowerforyou:

Thanks jimmer! I started the first cycle with deadlifts. I'll see how this goes, and then decide whether to keep them or try squats next cycle. I will say these workouts are more intense than I expected. Good thing they are only 2 days per week.

I think hubby and I are about equally fit. His body is asthetically better, with more muscles and less fat than mine, but my diet is far better than his. It's nice to both be striving toward the same goals. But frankly, at other times in our marriage one of us has been fitter than the other (usually him, as I've had three…

Love me some Ryne Sandberg, so this one-time diehard-Cubs fan now loves the Phillies.

I did too. (I haven't been around for awhile here partly because of that). I did a couple of the programs, including the fat loss program. Can't remember now what the other one was. I don't know. It was kind of meh. The workouts were short, which was good in a way but sometimes I did not feel that challenged. I didn't…

I'm going to jump in here. Quick background, I'm not new to strengh training, as I've done NROLFW, SL (which I then adapted to 3x5, so basically SS) and then some Nia Shanks Beautiful Badass. But I cannot squat 1.5 times my bodyweight (yet) so according to Allpro I am a beginner and so started with the beginner program.…

You could also look online for free videos. Fitnessblender.com has a ton of really good workouts and you can browse by what type of workout you are looking for. I really like them for pure cardio in between my lifting days.

Just popping in with a funny/empowering story. I workout at home. Was at the top of a 120-pound squat yesterday (so 2 35's plus on the ends of my bar) when my 10 year old popped his head into my workout room to ask me a question. His eyes opened WIDE and he said "Holy Cow Mom! You are SO STRONG!" I smiled, nodded, and…

Dani, I totally agree. The difference between 5 and 8 is rather ridiculous. It's kinda crazy, really.

I got back under the bar this week and I love it! Finished Nia Shanks' (s)hero and swtiched to her true minimalist program. It's very similar to SL but less squatting. I thought my numbers would be down as Nia has had me doing slightly more repts, but they are not too bad. Squat 115 2 x 7 and 105 1 x 8. OHP 70 2 x 7 and 63…

Holy yikes! 95 OHP and 170 squat!!! You are officially my new hero. I've been off SL for about 3.5 months. I'm finishing Phase 4 of Nia Shanks' (s)hero right now. I like it, and my body needed a break from SL, but I'm finding I miss getting under the bar regularly. So next month I'm switching to Nia's Beautiful Badass…

So I haven't been around much lately. But, I had to jump in to report that I hit a personal milestone last week---- I deadlifted 200 pounds. That's 1.5x bodyweight, ladies. Making me officially feel like a BEAST! Man I love lifting heavy things.
