  • I have been off of sugar for about a month now. My wife brings home these yogurt pretzels telling me there's no sugar in them because they're organic. I ate one and instantly tasted the sugar. I told it here there was sugar in it and she denied it...until I confirmed sugar on the ingredients list. There were no nutrition…
  • Most restaurants have "light" or healthy options available. And they're usually pretty apparent on the menus with a special logo and calorie count. Many of the items aren't just chicken, though a lot of variations of chicken are on the list. You could always ask your server if they have a specific menu of light options you…
  • Running and Working Out (A lot) Not eating unhealthy foods (Sugars, Caffeine, Fried) Eating my fruits and veggies
  • Actually, muscle does weigh more than fat. However, what you are referring to is "a pound of muscle weighs more than a pound of fat". Yes, in that scenario a pound is a pound. However, muscle does weigh more than fat.
  • So eating snacks throughout the day like the guide tells me in order to keep my metabolism up and prevent me from peeking and crashing is a not true and I am just consuming extra calories I don't need? I don't typically snack throughout the day, but I have been while following the nutrition guide.
  • All I am following is the P90X Nutrition Guide. When the people who put that together tell me to eat my last snack 3 hours before I go to bed because undigested carbs turn into fat, I believe them. I would assume your body slows down at night, because mine certainly does. My body does not work as hard as it does when I'm…
  • I disagree. One time? no, but take it from someone who loved eating full meals at midnight and going to bed 30 minutes later, it all goes to fat because your body doesn't have time to digest it before turning off for the night.
  • I agree. My response to the main question is that best late night snack is no late night snack. I do a couple of things for weight loss, but one of the things that I swear by is not eating at least 3 hours before I go to bed. If I'm under the 3 hour line, then I don't eat. This ensures that your body is done digesting food…
  • Depends on where your goal is. I guess that could be true. If everyone's goal is under 200 somewhere (for guys; and down around like 120 girls) then certainly it does. It's easier to lose when there is so much to lose. When you have 200 pounds to lose, changing your lifestyle and exercise routines will pour off the pounds,…
  • I'm about to finish up my first time through P90X. I have two and a half weeks to go. I will be starting over again right after that (First week of October I think).
  • I don't log my food at all. I use MFP for the Weigh In to track my weight loss and I like to read the message boards. I follow P90X's Nutrition Plan pretty closely. Sometimes I skimp on the veggies, and I know I do. I don't need a calculator to tell me I didn't get enough. But mostly I try to eat all of them. Eating enough…
  • Power 90 or P90X Stay at home ultimate workout. You do need to own or purchase a few things (like free weights with enough variety and a chin-up bar), but you won't need to go to the gym with this workout. I've lost around 15 pounds with P90X and I'm about to finish week 2 of month 3. 3 weeks to go and I'm done, then I get…
  • Eat lots of meat. Non-breaded ofcourse. Grilled Chicken and Turkey are the best healthy sources. Your occasional low-fat or no-fat milk is good too, 8g of protein per 8oz glass.
  • Well muscle does weigh more than fat. But I get what you're saying. A pound is a pound no matter what it is. :) Funny :)
  • Just drink 0% Fat Free Milk. I drank it for awhile and it tastes just fine to me. Recently I switched to 1% Chocolate Milk though. I do P90X and their nutrition plan requires 3 servings of dairy a day. Then I heard something about Chocolate Milk and dieting and did some research. Most professional studies agree chocolate…
  • What would you say about mine? On a typical day, I will eat 1600 calories, but burn 600 doing P90X. I know I should eat more, but I can't. I eat more than enough at meals, to the point of being full, I just don't eat food high in calories. Primarily just veggies, salads, and healthy meats. I avoid pasta, rice, and potatoes…
  • Never used resistance bands or ChaLean, but I use P90X and they have someone on resistance bands everytime. You just have to do the full range of motion. Someone on the video should show you how to properly use them.
  • That's not true. It just takes longer. You still burn calories walking, just not as much as running. Refer to the article below for more info. http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-242-304-311-8402-0,00.html
  • Sorry, I totally assumed that's what they mean. At least that's what I think I here them say. Tony says in every strength work out if you want bulk, then plan to max out at 8-10 reps, and if you want lean then 12-15. If he does not mean lean muscle what does he mean? Just lose weight? I'm still working out with strength…
  • No problem. P90X burns 600 calories in one workout. I've got three to this weekend. Today, Sat, and Sun
  • Take a look at P90X or Beachbody.com. Those guys have done their homework. 8-10 for Size, 12-15 for Lean
  • Are you highly active? 55% Carbs is an awful lot. P90X workout routine suggests 40% Protein 40% Carbs and 20% Fat for the ENERGY cycle. The Fat Shredding cycle suggests 50% Protein, 30% Carbs, and 20% Fat. That is currently what I am using. Now coupled with the exercises, I lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks.
  • The only suggestions I have are eating quality foods and exercise. Just because you meet a calorie goal, doesn't mean the food is the best calorie to protein ratio. P90X developed a relatively good Fat Burning Nutritional Plan that leaves you fulfilled at the end of the day, and most often I can't even eat all the calories…
  • P90X is tough. And I mean super tough for the first couple of weeks. They expect you to be in shape before you start it. The guide says you should complete P90 before starting the X. Plus they have a fit test that you should pass before starting. I did none of that. Luckily I had been running 9 miles a week for the past 3…
  • I'm finishing week 6. I love it. I can't get enough of P90X Following the Nutrition Plan helps tremendously. I didn't follow it for the first month. No weight loss. I started it two weeks ago and lost 10 pounds in two weeks. Fat Shredder is amazing. Now, you may need to be on Fat Shredder (Phase 1 food plan) for longer or…

  • Adding lean muscle is not relatively difficult. You actually do the same thing the guys who lift lots of weights for size do. However, instead of lifting the heavy weights that max you out at 8 reps, you should be lifting lighter weights that max you out at 15 reps. Keep increasing as you need to. If you reach 15, go…
  • I'm only 6 weeks in myself. On the second week of Phase 2, but I do know the answers to your question. The Fat Shredder plan is for if you have Fat to Shred (like me). The book says it can last 2 days or 2 months, depending on what you need. You already did it, you don't need it. So stick with the Energy Plan or the…
  • Substitute ground turkey in for ground beef. It lowers the calories, lowers the fat, and increases the protein. And I've found out it tastes very good! :)
  • Could possibly be that you are running too often for just starting out. Your muscles aren't used to the work and they didn't get a recovery day. When i started running I did it every other day. This allows a rest day. It's only a possible solution. I really don't know for sure. Other factors can be taken into consideration…
