  • This is AMAZING. My whole family of picky eaters loves it! Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu 6 chicken breast halves 12 pieces Canadian Bacon 6 oz. Gruyere cheese sliced into 8 thin slices - I get Applewood Smoked Gruyere (Don't substitute, the taste of the Gruyere makes this dish!) 1/4 cup chicken stock 1/4 cup half and half 1 T…
  • I totally have this happen. I am pretty confident it is due to gaining muscle. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, and when we work out, though we are burning calories, we are also gaining muscle and toning. Weight gain is normal, though not always as encouraging. Maybe start doing measurments as well? Good luck!
  • Singing Dancing (not often, can't get hubby to do it!) Cross Stitching Reading Blast Music while cleaning or doing anything :-)
  • Jackson's totally right. If you look at all of your requirements, they should all increase with exercise. Basically it is recommended that you "eat back" your exercise calories, so any time you include Cardio in your log, all of your caloric requirements will increase.
  • I would recommend setting your initial goal to be the upper end of the "healthy" BMI for your height (if you're not there already). Once you reach that goal, or get closer to it, then use your body as a guide to determine how much more (if any) you think you need to lose. Good luck!!
  • It is optional to each member whether or not they want to share their diaries. I don't believe there is a way to search for those who have opened them to all, but it is very common for MFP users to open their diaries to "friends". I am definitely not the best example, but you are welcome to add me as a friend a peek at my…
  • Yes, you can definitely see it in your face! Congratulations, you look great!!
  • Because you are here on MFP, I am guessing you are dieting and/or watching your calories. ARE YOU EATING ENOUGH? I know in the past when I've started dieting, if I didn't get enough calories, especially when I was working out alot, I would get symptoms matching yours exactly. May have been a specific vitamin deficiency…
  • Nikkie_too, Great List! Thanks for some new ideas!!
  • Hi Chrisi! CONGRATULATIONS on the upcoming wedding!!! You've got lots of time, you will be a beautiful bride! I am in the same boat with exercise motivation. But a few ideas... First, if you are going to Jazzercise sometimes, there you go, there's your workout for the day!! If you don't go, maybe you have time to go out…

  • Day 100! Hot Damn! That is sooooo Awesome!!! And 48 Pounds, that's Amazing!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I can only say I feel your pain on the upcoming surgery. I actually am still finishing up my recovery from surgery on my ankle. On 4/1 (yes, April Fool's Day of all days, LOL), my husband and I were in a motorcycle accident. I…
  • WOOT WOOT!!!! Congrats, Girl!!!!
  • bump... (sorry wish I did)
  • Bump... THANKS!!!! :)
  • I personally haven't had that issue, haven't lost enough weight, but my husband has lost about 60 pounds, and his wedding ring literally falls off of him all the time. And it's made from a material that can't be resized. :( As far as weighing less before, maybe you have more muscle on you now? So you weigh more than before…
  • Actually eating every two hours is about the healthiest thing you can do for your body. But only in small portions, which like you, is tough for me too. When you eat at 6am, plan on eating a string cheese at 8am. Then plan on eating again at 10 like you normally do. If you drink coffee at 6am, then go 4 hours without…
  • Red Wine is actually not too bad for you. Not nearly the calories and such as white wine, and is full of antioxidents. I am on South Beach Diet, and Red Wine is actually allowed on the diet. I personally love Lambrusco as well, I drink the Riunite brand, which is great that I like it so much, cuz it's cheap!! Like others…
  • Hey Michaela! Comfort eating is sooo tough. Just think of how you'll look when you can put your mind to it and lose that extra weight! When you are dying to go for junk food, but you know you aren't actually hungry, try chugging a full 8 ounces of water. If that doesn't work, they say our cravings only last 15 minutes, so…
  • We've heard this as well. My son's Swim Team Coach is not only an amazing coach, but also a fitness guru with an actual degree of some sort in fitness. He swears by it and encourages all swimmers to drink a glass of chocolate milk when they get home from practice or a meet.
  • I'm not very nutrition informed, so I can't actually give advice there. I will say, though, that I am in the exact same boat. I am 5'1" and 127 pounds. MFP also tells me 1200 is my goal. I am eating by the South Beach Diet, and am merely using MFP for informational purposes as opposed to a guideline. My daily average has…
  • Hi there, CONGRATS to both of you!! And good luck on your 5K's. I can't say anything cool like that, LOL. I did South Beach for about 2.5 months starting New Year's Day and lost 20 pounds! After a few months off, I have gained almost 10 back, so I started back up last Monday (7/25). I am on day 9 and have lost 4.2 pounds…
  • Hey HulasMom! Welcome to SBD! This diet is amazing, and surprisingly easy to stick to! I will say the the first few days are tough, but once you get past those, your body no longer has those muchie cravings it used to. I am on Day 9 and have lost 4.2 pounds. Pretty happy about that!! I would like to share an amazing…
  • True indeed, excellent info!... My slip up on white wine was only because that's all we had and all of us were going to drink wine together. Because I'm on South Beach, Red Wine is allowed on the diet after the first 2 weeks, so I will be drinking Red Wine a couple times a week in one more week. :)
  • bmfrazie, I'm in! This thread was just what I've needed. One week into my South Beach Diet, and did virtually no excercise last week. Was just thinking how I need something to motivate me. You'll hear from me again here. Thanks!! DanceYogaRun, I'm sure they are. I got mine at KMart, and I'd assume Target would as well, as…
