Where do I want to be?

I'm having a hard time really settling on a number. Some days I think I want to be 135 but today I looked at pics from when I was that size and I was still very chunky. I didn't look very healthy. I think the healthiest I looked was around 115-125 and this is in my healthy weight range but I'm afraid that I can't make it there. Do any of you struggle w/ thinking you can't make it to where you will truly be healthy so you settle for less...or more in this case?

  • I would recommend setting your initial goal to be the upper end of the "healthy" BMI for your height (if you're not there already). Once you reach that goal, or get closer to it, then use your body as a guide to determine how much more (if any) you think you need to lose.

    Good luck!!

i know what you mean...my initial goal was 130...then i was still a little pudgy, so it was 125...i'm at 128 now, and i think i'll be good at 120. just see how it goes :)

I agree with Cchappell's suggestion...that's what I did as well--aimed for the weight that put me in a healthy BMI...when I got there, I re-evaluated and am working on getting a little more in the "mid range" healthy BMI for my height...

Always have a mindset that you can achieve anything if you work hard enough.

I've changed my goal weight about 5 times!! :) I suggest you set it somewhere achieveable, and once you get there, if your not yet satisfied, then change it again!

Thanks everyone! I think what I'm going to do is set my goal for half way between my healthy range which would be 123. That way I have wiggle room.
