Never heard of this. No need for specific diets, good ol' calorie deficit and exercise works wonders. 52lbs lost so far, my original goal was 40lbs which would take me to pre pregnancy weight and never though I'd get here but MFP has been amazing. Good luck!

Thank you, this makes a lot of sense. I did wonder if the two were related. Off to go and drink plenty water!

I'm really not bothered about my weight now that I've reached my goal, it's my BF% I'm working on and to see that jump up, well you can understand why I'm concerned. Thank you for your suggestions I will see if I can ask a gym to measure it more accurately. I'm not a member anywhere though so buying that scale was my way…

My scale has pads that I make sure I stand over and this measures it.

I thought there would be no way to gain that in a week, just my scales still say the same this morning so that is two different occasions getting the same reading. What is my body up to!

I could not survive on 1000 cals. Some days I hit 1700! 5'5 SW: 200lbs CW: 150lbs GW: 144lbs I am currently set at 1420 calories in order to lose 1lb per week but I'm going to change it to 1600 at 0.5lb loss as I want to eat more, yum!

Bump for later

My son is 7 months old and I am now almost 14lbs lighter than when I found out I was pregnant with him. I was 200lbs when I weighed myself when my son was 6 weeks old and that scared me! I got to my pre pregnancy weight of 165 on 1st April and now I weigh in at 151.6lbs. (I am 5'5). It has taken work but I am so proud to…

I am in FAR better shape now that I am a Mum than before. Yes I have stretch marks etc but I'd rather have them and the legs I have now than the body before. I gained a fair bit of weight during pregnancy and have just about reached my ultimate-never-thought-I'd-get-there goal weight :) My little boy is 7 months old today.…

Amazing transformation. You should be so proud and rock that bikini. I'm 6 months post birth and started out in the 200s, now down to 154 and hope to look like you one day! Inspirational!

I commend her decision to do this. A difficult one for any woman. I lost my father age 9 to lung cancer and then my mother when I was 22 to breast cancer. She carried the rare TP53 gene. I just wish there had been more awareness when my mother was diagnosed, she took part in a clinical trial to further research. If only…

Just going by what I have learned from this site. If you only started the weight training 2 weeks ago and saw a 1lb gain then this could just be due to your muscles retaining water from the new exercise. I see that the week after this 1lb then dropped off again. Sounds perfect to me, you need to let your body adjust to…

Amazing results!!

Incredible achievement and a huge congratulations!

I started out with tins of soup for level 1 and then went onto 2kg weights at the start of level 2 once I managed to buy them! I did 6 days and 1 rest day a week and still saw amazing results. Stick with it. Day 4 I found was somewhat of a hurdle and once I got over that I kept going. Also, make a chart. I had my days…

Hello! Didn't realise my topic was being replied to again, lovely to hear from you all. I'm now over 3 stone down ans have completed the 30 Day Shred, I made a topic on my results: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/973809-30-day-shred-results-and-my-story-so-far-with-pics Just in case you fancy a read. Will accept my…

I have just finished the shred and I did it 6 days a week. The rest day was so important for me and I needed to let my muscles recover. So it took 5 weeks to finish the program and I got great results. I always did extra stretching at the end of the workout. I have really tight chest and calf muscles so I would make sure I…

Thank you all so much for your kind words. It really means the world to me! Currently doing Ripped in 30 (discovered a love/hate for Jillian Michaels!) so hoping to achieve great results again. Good luck to those of you currently doing 30DS or about to start!!

Thank you all so much!

Amazing achievement! Well done!!

Hi I think I do tend to agree with the general consensus here. Definitely eating more will help. I do TDEE -20% and have great results, I eat 1490 calories a day and still lose at least 1lb per week. Definitely don't be afraid to increase your calories, your body needs the fuel to survive and function correctly or if you…

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments!

I burn around 220 - 250 calories per session. I think I got my highest during a level 2 workout though, i definitely found that harder! I just created my own exercise after level 1 (I used to log it as circuit training) and once I got a HRM I loved seeing what I could burn!
-
Fantastic! Well done!!
-
I have just finished the shred too, starting Ripped in 30 on Monday and then after that I'm going to do the shred again to see if I can follow the advanced moves instead!
-
Wait, so by that equation I should be eating 1127 calories to lose weight? (weigh 161) but I'm eating 1490 cals and losing weight..I'm confused? Where is this equation from may I ask? To the OP, 30lbs in one month is a steep goal. I'd opt for a 1/2lbs a week and that way you'll be more likely to keep it off. Feel free to…

Take it with you? I took my 30DS dvd when I was away for my birthday for 4 days and still did it then. If this isn't an option then I don't see the problem in just doing level 3 when you get back. Enjoy your time away and good luck with the shred!

Well the 3 days you've logged on this site have some form of a weight watchers food so I was just going by that. Was only trying to help, we're not to know this isn't normal eating for you.
