Completely get it. When I was younger I was one of those people who had to try to put on weight (mostly for sports)...then I hit 23 and it hit back, with a vengence. I ballooned from 128lbs to 168lbs in about 2 years. I've slowly come down, and then up, and then down, and then...well you get the picture. I'm now sitting at…

I like the fact that you don't have to buy any extra gear for Insanity like you do for P90X. I'm starting a round on Monday.

I love how he uses the term "wedge" when refering to sitting down. In all honesty and seriousness though, it drives me crazy that I feel like a little kid at most restaurants because I have pull myself up to the table in order to eat and not spill all over my lap. I've eaten at some places where there was well over 2' of…

Our family and friends "lie" to us because they care for us and because they just want us to be happy. Don't be too hard on them, or yourself. Take your before pics and commit to never being that size again, then move on. Our past is exactly that. Can't do anything about it but learn from it.

Sorry hun, you're going to have to empty your freezer (wrap frozen foods like meat in blankets if you don't have a cooler) and defrost it to get them out. Be a good time to clean out the freezer.

I always count my tea towards my water but if you're concerned about the miniscule amount of caffein in the average cup, just switch to green or any other decaf tea.

Hello from Saskatchewan! Was totally the same way what I started. This will definately keep you on track. Good luck!

You, my dear, have plateaued...totally normal. Do something completely different for your workout for a few weeks, interval training works the best. Drink lots and lots of water too and make sure you're eating enough. Essentially, just keep at it. As frustrating as it is to be nickle and diming your weight loss you're…

Totally having the same issue. 3 weeks, no loss :( I'm hoping when I do my measurements tomorrow I'll see some change. Just keep at it, it'll come off. Try switching up your workout, might confuse your body enough to get it going again.

You can google a lot of things, doesn't make what is said to be true. Remember, these people are SELLING you this program therefore it's in their best interest to make it sound like you'll lose half your body weight and be super healthy and happy and everything is going to be honkey dorey but it's simply not true. I'm…

My job requires me to do pushups as part of the fitness test and what we get people to do who aren't quite there is do as many as you can in the full mode and when you can't do any more like that then drop to your knees. You need to train the muscles and doing them half *kitten* all the time isn't going to do it. Another…

Same here, I'm pretty much always under BUT that's because I only eat about 1/2 of 3/4 of my exercise calories back. Sadly MFP doesn't distinguish between being under by 5 calories or by 500 cals.

Hey, at least she thinks you dress well.

I also agree. I'd be asking to see this person's credentials. That sounds like craziness. Sure, you'll lose the weight, but guaranteed that you will gain all of it back and then some as soon as you're done with the "diet". I do have a suggestion for some weight loss though, RUN away from this crazy person who is starving…

I weigh myself once a week and measure every other week.

I have a friend in the RCN that also just got home. Did he look as worn out, exhausted and like he had been run over by a truck as she did? Hahahaha

Home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders...Regina, SK. :P

I LOVE Hali!! I'm Navy too (reserve) as is my BF (hence the potential move to QC).

Your man from the area? Where are you living now?
-
I'm 5'6" and about a 7-8 now, I'd like to be a consistant 5-6.
-
Yup, that's me too. Stupid thighs. :(

One word: Insanity. It'll take you back to those days of crazy workouts...without the crazy Chief.

Big hug!!!! It is ****ty when the people we care about, and who are supposed to care about us, let us down as your father obviously has. There are some people who just don't get it and believe that how we behave or look or feel is a representation of who they are. This is a selfish belief. I know that no amount of…

Moisturize as you lose the weight, it will decrease how much extra skin you have at the end.
-
Loose skin is both a badge of honour and a bit of a disheartening reminder for most, especially those who lose a bunch of weight. The good news: Yes most of it should tighten up. The bad news: it will take time, lots of time in fact. As I'm sure you are well aware of as we age our skin looses some of its elasticity (hence…

Love it!!

Did this person know that you're watching what you eat now? Some people (especially guys, no offence to the men on MFP) are just A-holes.
-
Look into the cookbook "Deceptively Delicious". It sneeks in all sorts of fruit, veggies and meat into unassuming foods that your kids might acually eat. As for the picky 14 year old, if you don't buy it, she can't eat it and she'll fingure out pretty fast that it's either eat what's in the fridge/pantry or go hungry. She…

Definately don't beat yourself up too bad. I had a BRUTAL week too...maybe something about the changing weather or something. My plan of attack was to just get back up on the horse and start over. I weighed myself today and (thank God) I didn't gain any weight, mostly because I made sure that, although my eating was crap I…
