I started with Stronglifts. Simple program, basic moves, and has a set weight increase progression so you're not guessing as to if you're going too light/heavy to start with.

46 miles puts me over Brandywine Bridge.

Now at 43 miles. 354 more to go!

I've a hood you can borrow until Gandalf catches up.

8 mile bike ride puts me at 34.25- I've seen the trees of Woody End across the fields to the south and am currently camping. Ah, rest... now if only the dwarves would stop singing.

Better a slug than a troll!

Not tried it yet, but thanks for bringing this to my attention.

26.25 so far. 370.75 left to go. Getting colder here, but that's to be expected. :)

I'm now at 17 miles. Six more miles to Frogmorton!

Yes, it's 397 total miles from Bag End to Rivendell. You can just count down from that, or for more detail go to http://home.insightbb.com/~eowynchallenge/Tools/Hobbit_BE_to_Rivendell/hobbit_be_to_rivendell.html for the mileage. Start whenever you like- I'm going from October 1st, so if you know your miles for the past few…

Depression lies. It's a horrible cage that you can't really get out of, no matter what measures you take. Medication has helped me, getting my husband to finally mostly understand helped me, finding ways to hide and press my face to the bars so it doesn't seem like I'm caged helps me. The world is beautiful between the…

lightinthebox.com has some nice corsets for cheap.

For the longest time my knees and legs hurt too much to do any significant amount of running. I hated it. Then a friend loaned me a pair of Vibrams for a 5k mud run I'd signed up for on a whim. They were wonderful! I've since gotten my own pair and started running at least 2 to 3 times a week. I'm up to three pairs of…

Kirkland, WA here- just outside of Seattle. Is anyone else going to be doing the Hell Run up here this weekend? *hopeful*

60 mins is roughly 2.5 mins a day if I start today. Hmm. Why not?

Just do as much as you canon workout one and repeat it until you can do the whole thing. Then move on. If you're working through an injury, it's going to take time to heal. Still, 8 weeks is a guideline and there's no reason why you can't take longer.

Okie. Guess I'm in good shape. We got some of those interconnecting foam mats for the floor.

It all boils down to belief. If you believe in it and it works for you, awesome! But... beliefs are like Man Bits. It's great if you have one, but it's generally frowned upon if you go waving it around in public, and for heaven's sake, don't go cramming it down anyone's throat without their consent.

Not on topic, but this post got the song Mad World stuck in my head. Thank you.

My middle name is Lorraine. Same spelling. :)

Gwynne, pronounced Gwin. Yay for Welsh names! I've run into a few Gwens, but never another Gwynne. My husband mispronounced my name for the first three years we were together. :S

I think I'll probably stick it out and wait, given what people are saying. Thanks!

The first long run is all mental. Find a mantra, playlist, book on tape, whatever. Don't think about how long you're running for, focus on maintaining a constant speed. If you get out of breath, slow down, but KEEP GOING. I'm on week 8. It gets easier. :)

Come now, this would be AWESOME in crockpot cheeseburgers. Where's the love?

Norstrom. Great sizing and pretty, pretty sets.

1. Youtube is your friend. Figure out your routine and what you'll be doing. Write it down or program it into your smartphone if you have one. Watch videos to see how the moves are done so you don't hurt yourself. 2. Don't try to impress anyone. Honestly, they're not worth it. Focus on you and what you're doing. What…

The first hour of Wolf Creek was fantastic, but after that it got a little cliche for me. Won't say more as I don't want to spoil anyone, as it is worth seeing.

High weight, low reps. Dumbell curls, hammer curls, triceps extension, two arm dumbell kickbacks. Or just do compound lifts- overhead press, bench press, barbell rows, etc. Check out bodybuilding.com for some free plans- and don't pay attention to the 'you'll get big arms' thing. It takes a heck of a lot more than just…
