1. Of course! 2. Lembas is pretty carb heavy. My recipe calls for brown sugar, butter, and flour...

Have you seen a doctor about your depression? Exercise helps, but sometimes you need the medication to help balance. I've been there- I went from "yay! Look at me!" to drinking four bottles of wine in a night and staring at razorblades. That was my 'aha' moment to get help. Meds helped even me out until I got to a better…

When I did the Spartan race they were tearing down the obstacles behind me as I completed them. Don't take it too seriously- everyone crosses the same finish line and at the end of the day you did your best and kicked *kitten*.

Starting strength is another good program to look into. I prefer it because of my hatred of rows. Rippertoe has done great videos for form too.

My motivation likes to hide behind the couch or outside in the hot tub. It's a wily creature, and I sometimes have to hunt it down and beat it with a stick so we can go on runs together. Signing up for unrealistic races with little to no training keeps the little *kitten* with me, but sometimes I just have to do it without…

Running for me is a head game. A slow, painful head game. I'm an ungainly runner, and slow. I hunch forward and swear. I stare at the ground too much. I hate the treadmill with a passion and count the seconds until I can get off it. So, not a chipper runner. But I started at 262 pounds and still remember the triumph of…

No cookies? Drat. I was told that if I came to the dark side there would be cookies...

Hello! I'm another American, but in Washington State. We have a similar end goal, and the (hopefully intentional) Heinlein reference caught my eye. Friends?
-
I find I'm faster outside vs the treadmill, but that's going to vary by person. Try it, then decide which do you enjoy more. Or mix- speed intervals are easier on a treadmill. There is no better or right choice. tl;dr Find what works for you and stick with it.

Go slower and work on your endurance. Speed comes with time. Also maybe look into a couch to 5k program. I've used it in the past and it's lovely. Happy running!

I'm not going to Mount Doom. I'm headed to the Lonely Mountain with Bilbo, but thanks!

Anyone else game?

Excellent! Let's do it!!

I've really enjoyed Zombies, Run! If you enjoy radio plays (like the Shadow) it's very good. If you don't like listening to people talk, you won't like it. It is also interactive, you can build up your base against attacks, etc. which is fun.

Whee! Kill it!!!

Program changes... Yeah. I'm sure it's totally possible. Keep it going! I liked NROLFW, but it got way too time consuming.

When I was 12 I was told girls shouldn't lift. We had to do step aerobics while the boys played with heavy things. Now I'm 36 and quite proud of myself. So.... Nah. What are you at now? :)
-
Very nice! Sounds like you're killing it- someday I hope to be in that range!
-
Do that, or just poop on a regular basis.

People who do that are usually deeply insecure, unhappy, and possibly bitter. Treat them as you would a child throwing a tantrum- walk away. When they don't get a response, eventually they give up. Then gloat over the fact that you don't need to be an *kitten* in public to validate your self-worth.

How is it fraud? You entered into a legal contract with another person. There's no 'love, honor, and obey' that *has* to be part of a marriage ceremony, and really, so long as you pass the blood test and the person isn't your first cousin (not applicable in some states) the people handing out the license couldn't probably…
-
Sure. Why not? If all parties are agreed there's not a problem in my mind. Heck, marriage started out as property contracts anyway. ... Though I'd need someone on the side, if you catch my drift. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

"Couldn't get ahold of no flour, so it's mostly protein. In fact, it's pretty much what we just had for dinner. But I tried to get the frosting as chocolatey tasting as possible."

I've met a fair amount of authors, but my favorite was Clive Barker. We had a lovely conversation on the use of handcuffs as a marital aid. Very sweet man.

I target shoot and have a Mongolian Horse Bow. Love that thing! We set up an archery range in the woods below our house. Great for blowing off steam. My Manbeast has a compound bow- it's shiny and purple, but that's about all I can tell you about it offhand.

Some people want an army of minions and cloning can be *so* unreliable.

If you have a smartphone, set an inspirational ringtone. Nothing gets my *kitten* out of bed at 4am faster than Eye of the Tiger.

Since getting a nice set up in my basement, I prefer barefoot. Public lifting (which I rarely do) is in Vibrams.

I'll take strollers and slow runners over dogs any day. I've been tripped up by leashes in a couple races (why you need a long leash for a run, I don't know), and now will only enter ones that are dog free.

First off, if you have a good relationship with your doctor, go there first. Medication can make a huge, huge difference. Also I've found that things like D3, magnesium, and iron all seem to help me with energy levels. Second, for me, exercise is something that I do at certain times of day. I've worked to get into a a…
