I do this exact same thing for the exact same reason. No issues here - 155lbs lost.

I've been in that spot exactly. Spent a long time eating too little and just doing cardio. Reached a point where I just couldn't do it anymore. My body and brain were both saying "hey bud, something's gotta change here". I slowly upped my calories and was shocked to see that I could still lose weight on numbers that I…

Haha yes.... Totally get that.

yep - I spent a long time not weighing food but I was much bigger then. But there's a lot less room for error now. I have to admit that I really like weighing my food. It appeals to the ocd side of me I guess... haha.

I absolutely concur with this

1200 calories a day is terrible advice and I'm sorry that they gave you that number. I started at 320lbs and am sitting at 164lbs today. As a reference, I can still easily lose weight at 1900 calories a day or more. I've lost weight in the past on as many as 2300 calories a day. I'd suggest that finding the intake where…

I get this a lot now. I find it really interesting actually. Not to get all psychobabbleish, but I often think it's just people projecting their frustration with themselves onto me. Seeing others have success and the resulting change in lifestyle and attitude just reminds so many people that they haven't been able to do it…

I don't wade into these threads often, but I'm feeling compelled to note that this is exactly the realization I've come to - for myself (important delineation) - and it has actually taken some of the fear of regaining away. Once I realized that I needed to frame it this way, it was like a pressure valve released because I…

Guy on the left looks like he ate the guy on the right.... and yes, I'm intentionally making a funny face on the right. Well, funnier than my "normal" face. Haha.

Looking forward to that post!

check your sodium intake - I went up 5.2lbs overnight from Sunday to Monday - it was all sodium/water retention based on my sodium intake on Sunday which was really high. I'm back down to within a pound of where I started last Friday. I'm not passing judgment on sodium, just noting that it can affect your "scale weight"…

6ft 1in here and sitting at 169lbs. Started at over 318. Lost over 130lbs and still was really unhappy with the way I looked and felt so started working with a trainer on a resistance program. The difference, just in a few months has been dramatic. Should have started sooner, but such is life.

I solved it by not tracking sugar in my diary... Seriously though, when I DO look at it, I'm "over" my MFP sugar every day by at least 50%. But nearly all of it is from fruit because I seriously love fruit. I'm not going to sweat that. It's still about calories for me. 150lbs lost so it seems that going "over" on…

Thanks everyone! @subhaautowares - great questions. 1) Did you ever had to lay off your exercise or diet routine due to any health issues. Yes. In the last year and a half I've had all the usual things that people get like colds and flu and so on. Also I've had pretty serious back issues and other physical things that have…
