  • My doctor warned me about sugar in fruits. Fruits that I add to my oatmeal in the morning include apples, blueberries, raspberries all are low in sugar as opposed to using sugar. Took a while to get used to it but now sugar is way to sweet to me. Grapes are also low in sugar. Don't eat yogart due to the sugar. With the…
  • Would prefer option 3 - both a public and private group. Everyone would then feel welcome.
  • Glad to see someone started a group for these issues. Have had depression since college (too long ago to count the years). Been on and off meds. Had a 20 yr abusive marriage that I got out of and into a 10 yr relationship with a man who told me I was the "love of his life" and we were engaged. Thought things were finally…
  • Yesterday was ok - still having problems getting the water in but the migraine didn't help. Today is an off day for running as practice is tomorrow. decided to mark down every time I finish a bottle of water to try and up my water intake - see if that will help. Its yoga and aerobics today and off to the animal shelter for…
  • Loridana - thanks so much for starting this group and keeping it together - it is really the incentive I needed right now. Good Luck to all and we can do this!!
  • Well yesterday got in the run, the yoga and the spinning just couldn't work on the 30 day shred. Just too achy. Have trouble with drinking all that water - yech  Have that 5k coming up Dec 10 so I'm trying to concentrate on that but the abs aren't going away. Gotta go for the run. Anyone else on week 3 of Juilian's…
  • Hi. my name is Geri. My CW is 174 my GW is 154 with a size 10 jean. Have never been this heavy in my life. I'm in my mid fifties with two children (one still in college). Have fallen off the exercise wagon these past 10 days - fighting some depression. Hoping this group will help me back on track. Have a 5K I was training…
  • I'm game. Do we have to weigh in - or can we do it by jean size?
  • I use both meds and exercise to help with the depression. The meds alone don't do it and neither does the exercise by itself. I find that when I really build up a sweat and exercise hard it helps with the attitude. Also, keeping a journel and writing down five positive things about the day has also helped. Just know that…
  • I have been depressed for years and on many different meds. Like you today is a BAD day. Sometimes I just give in and write it off with resolve to pick up tomorrow and it usually works. Getting outside and doing any exercise really helps. Take a warm bath. Call a friend - writing on MFP was a great idea as this has always…
  • Been reading your postings and was wondering if anyone has the issue of eating late at night? I'm fine during the day and don't feel hungry but about 10pm I get the munchies and snack on energy bars, sllm bagels, and or crackers. I need to watch the carbs so this is not helping. Any suggestions?:flowerforyou:
  • I'm on day 3 week 3 and am I sore. Like someone else wrote I'm pairing it with C25K and in the morning I find it difficult to move. Doing the easier version of the Ripped. Need the motivation to do it every day. It's great to read this thread. It keeps me going. Thanks. :flowerforyou:
  • I used to use the guilt thing to avoid the emotional eating but sometimes it just fails - like this week, so I can feel your pain. Open that refrig door and make sure that there is an alternative in there - grapes, apples, etc. Pull both out (the cheese/bread and the grapes) and say out loud "I am not going to make this…
  • I need a little help this morning. The last few weeks have been somewhat difficult. My ex fiance just got married a month ago and then tells me he thinks about me everyday and is crying on the phone to me that he feels guilty about how he broke up our relationship of 8 years. My son and daughter-in-law just had a premature…
  • Nice day here - got my run/walk in today and getting ready to do the aerobics DVD. I can relate to your feelings about Las Vegas. I recently moved to New Jersey and am still trying to establish myself. Family and friends are back in St Louis and it has been a bit difficult to get used to things out here. Have signed up for…
  • For those of us technically challenged I'm on ticket tracker but can't figure out how to build the tracker and then import it to me signature. Help. :embarassed:
  • I'm on week 2 and even if I don't see that much improvement I feel great after working it. I love this DVD.
  • I'm on seroquel, topomax, and lamactil. Didn't gain weight from them to begin with but the depression contributed to a lack of exercise on my part. I'm finding it very difficult to loss weight with being on these meds. And, of course, the weight is not helping the depression aspect. I just keep plugging away with the…
  • I'm 5' 8" and my goal weight is 130lbs although I'm hoping to run it down in another year to 120lbs and do that 1/2 marathon.
  • I've always been told to have one day of rest in a week - do we need to incorporate that into the month?
  • My significant other is upset that I can't eat the same food that he does (beef, ribs, etc.) and gives me a hard time about logging regards of when I do it. NO, he isn't overweight - he runs 6miles a day. Not sure what the issue is but glad I found this site!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • I have the same problem. I can only drink 2 glasses at a time in a space of 2-3 hours of a get sick. I used to be able to drink quite a bit without an issue. Now that I'm older or heavier it seems to have really affected me. If anyone knows what this is all about please post. thanks.
  • Sandy - hope your child is feeling better today. Good luck selling the house, etc. I have been there and it is not easy. Do you haVe some exercise tapes you can put one when you are with your kids? That may help you do something for you, (the kids can join in) and keep away from the food. It use to help me. It is another…
  • Have you found that your purpose can change with age?
  • Well it is a beautiful day here and I got in my C25K run and signed up for the 5K on Dec 10th. We survived the Hurricane without a power outage which was wonderful. Feel so energetic I'm going to do the Ripped in 30 workout week 2 although from watching it through the first time I don't know if I will survive the warmup!…
  • Count me in as I change from walk/run to all run.
  • Jalee - I hate taking so many meds too. I'm on Parnate (a MAOI), lamactil, topomax, and a thyroid med, also meds for migraines. It is difficult to keep them all straight at times. I'm hoping that getting back on a strong exercise routine will help to eliminate some of these meds. They say that doing something for six weeks…
  • I have chronic depression and have gained weight following a breakup of 8 yrs and engagement - my weight isn't from the medication but from the depression and my lack of movement. We have tried many many medications and none seem to give that much relief so I am happy when I can just get off the couch. Can I join any way?
  • Just found this thread. What a blessing! My positive item is that I got up and did my day of C25K this morning! Sandy - I also suffer from clinical depression and have for over 20 yrs. Give yourself a pat on the back for getting up in the morning. It is rough but remember that you are worth it and be thankful for every…
