  • Congrats, and I sincerly hope that you have a job with the word "writer" in the title. I could have written what you said in a few sentences, and it would have been boring, and no one would have read it all the way through. You have quite the talent.
  • I learned that I really love PEX. I have always hated plumbing, but using PEX tubing makes everything better.
  • I would weigh before exercise, because if you know you are going to wiegh after, it will tempt you not to drink as much during the exercise, which will be bad for you in the long run.
  • I don't think you can complete the P90x and feel out of shape... assuming you complete it. Others with more experience can probably help you out more, but my approach was to start with the 30DS, then once I have completed that, I think I will be ready to hit P90x. (I am currently on day 8 of the 30DS).
  • I have the same issue myself, seeing as you haven't had too many posts yet, the responces to my thread might be helpful. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/315510-too-much-sugar
  • I don't know if I would put a lot of trust in a wii fit as your scale. I have seen different reports on accuracy, and if you are seeing wide fluctuations, it easily could be the culprit (especially when used on carpet). You might want to invest in a better scale. No need to have added frustration because your scale is…
  • I am in the long hair camp, but that's probably obvious... ;-)
  • That is some seriously fast times. Congratulations. You have my PRs beat at every distance.
  • Thanks for the feedback everyone.... I am learning a lot here. @starrchelly- Just to clarify, I am not skipping lunch, I am just ignoring the numbers for this example, since my breakfast and a snack put me over the amount without even counting the lunch. I eat about 1550 calories a day plus most of my exercise calories (I…
  • I was a caffeine addict for a long time, finally shook it for a few years and had every bit as much energy, without the highs/lows and the need for the fix. The only time I would drink it was long drives. Like you I got really busy at work so I started drinking it again. At first it helps, then it doesn't seem to have the…
  • good facts... I had concidered wearing ankle weights when jogging with my wife (so I would get a more vigerous workout going at her pace). All the research I did said not to do it because our joints are not made to have wieghts pulling on them like that. Having said that, I think that doing it at work, or around the house,…
  • I use the Proform hydration fuel belt that they sell at walmart. It is surprisingly comfortable and has pockets to hold my ID, gu, and Zune... I wear it with the bottles on the front though so everything is more accessible. http://www.walmart.com/ip/ProForm-Hydration-Fuel-Belt/15627179
  • Years ago I had joint pain that kept getting progressively worse for about a year. My back would hurt every night and I would have to sleep in the fetal position to be comfortable. I have an adjustable select comfort bed, so I tried adjusting it to no avail. I also had sore hands/wrists and thought I was getting carpal…
  • FWIW, I have been running for many years, mostly in rural areas and have had a few scares. The only time my wife has been injured running was when it was getting dark and we doubled back only to find that now there was a car backed up in the corn field that wasn't there earlier with the lights out and someone watching us,…

  • When I run on the treadmill, I am pushing myself and have limited ability to focus on anything too much. I prefer "ADHD" type shows that have short interesting or funny bits, something like america's funniest home videos, or cops, etc. It really helps make the time pass when on long runs (my record is 12 miles on the…
