Two glasses of wine tonight at dinner with the girls. Lots of fun! If I drink tomorrow night, it will only be one. May be AF. We’ll see.

So true! It’s harder to avoid the day drinking- a cocktail at lunch? Don’t mind if I do! But yes we pay on the back end. @MissMay we are going to the Cayman Islands. Can’t wait! @NonnieDoiron oh my God, what a pain in the *kitten*! I wonder if she would do that if you served family style? As for getting in the way in the…

@tobinross and @globalhiker very inspiring the way you talked yourselves down! It’s not easy, and you pulled both pulled it off! @globalhiker I need to hear more about this med spa! I would love to have the blub sucked out of my stomach area. It’s freaking stubborn! Your secret is safe with us, we won’t tell your husband!…

Yeah it’s a grind for sure. I know she is with you for the duration, but even so, I can see how it gets super irritating. Was she always rude? I think the filter just comes off the older we get. She is certainly not at her best now! But I really feel for you. Deep breaths. I love how you and your husband can vent to each…

I hate when that hunger comes out of nowhere! Isn’t that weird? Mine is either sometime during my cycle, or when I eat a lot of foods in the muffin/bagel/cupcake family.
-
@tobinross amazing to hear how your life has changed in the last six weeks, especially as it relates to your closer relationship with your family. It’s such an easy, mindless habit to slip into. I love that you’re learning a new craft! Tonight we are celebrating Valentines Day with my friend and her hubby out to dinner . I…

Welcome! I have the same goal-only on weekends. I was a daily drinker and am working toward weekends only. It can be done!
-
@chicbuc I need to hear more about the doughnut hamburger? I am intrigued. @NonnieDoiron i can only imagine. Does (loudish) music in the background help? Hugs. Welp, if you’re ever looking to lose weight, forget Ozempic to curb your appetite. You can just sit next to your MIL and get the same result! Can you rent her out?…

Two drinks last night at my son’s birthday dinner party at this really great restaurant. I was fine with alcohol, but it was a 5 course meal, and there was So. Much. Food. Like, way too much but all delicious. Not one, but two desserts which were out of this world. So today I wasn’t even hungry until about dinner time, and…
-
@chicbuc I hope you feel better! @NonnieDoiron wow, you’re crushing it with the decluttering and reorganization! Woo hoo! I also love that your son has someone special in his life. PS. Cute nails! @SurferGirl1982 today is a new day. You got within a half hour of your liquor store cutoff, I’m sure you can push through…
-
@SurferGirl1982, I’m blushing!!! Also, good for you for getting through the urge to run to the liquor store. Sometimes we need to white knuckle through, even as we try to distract ourselves! @NonnieDoiron I love the fact that your teenagers are doing the heavy lifting! You’re 7/8th of the way there with the fact that…

Happy happy anniversary @itladyee ! I hope you have a wonderful anniversary celebration! @SurferGirl1982 so glad I can inspire you guys to get stuff out of your house! Makes my heart happy! 1.5 glasses of wine tonight. Yeah yeah, I know I didn’t need the extra half glass. But, I am within my calorie goals, so that’s good.

Two glasses of wine last night. Tonight my goal is just one.

@NonnieDoiron my mother was right… do a little bit every day and it’s easy to keep clean. You never have to do the full, big , overwhelming cleaning. So, here is my schedule (based around my part time job): Tuesdays: Bathrooms Thursdays: dust (including baseboards). This is a good time to put things back where they belong…

I am going to a party at a friend’s house, and I know I’ll have at least one glass of wine. Two is my max, so I will try to micro-sip my way through the evening. I am deep into Eagles country, so even though I don’t really care (I’m from North Jersey, grew up as a Giants fan), almost everyone around me is really into it.

I killed off the bottle of my LA wine from last week, which amounted to a half glass of regular wine, because there wasn’t much left. Stilla because I could have chosen a full glass of regular!
-
Oh man, I understand this all too well! It really is a habit !

The ladies will probably appreciate this… Look at this cute little handmade, completely impractical evening bag I picked up at this fantastic consignment boutique! It literally holds a lipstick and my car keys. That’s it. I could not resist it. Luckily I have an event later in the year I can wear this to. I can justify…

I white knuckled through wanting a glass of wine tonight, but I did it! I really wanted to stick to my plan to not have wine until Thursday. I started with club soda and cranberry, and I still wanted wine afterwards, but I resisted. I don’t know why I wanted it so badly, today was my day off and not stressful at all. I did…

@garnet20910 welcome! The lavender tea sounds delicious. @CamaroChick3717 welcome to you too, and thanks for your service. I love how you both just said “yep, it’s time.” Everyone here is very supportive. Believe me, there are days when it comes easy, and days where… it just does not.

Big Win tonight! My husband made a delicious dinner, and I took a sip of his wine, which was sooooo good. I almost poured myself a glass, but instead poured myself a club soda with cranberry in a wine glass. I figured, if I still wanted a glass of wine after that, I’d pour myself one. The NA drink was just what I needed to…

Welcome! Your story and goals really resonate with me- I had the exact same slide into being a daily drinker. Stress relief drinks became a mindless habit. So, I’m trying to do the same as you, AF during the week. So glad you’re here. So glad you’re here again this month @Born2Run1958 ! Looking forward to your posts.
-
@chicbuc I love the picture! Glad you enjoyed the show! Hopefully the heartburn went away! @itladyee I’m sure hubby is going to get a good talking-to after scaring little Julien! Sometimes people don’t know how to read the kidlets, and then wonder why they get upset. I’m sure it wasn’t on purpose, but poor little guy!

Great to see you back here! Congrats on the weight loss, and keeping at it all so well!
-
Hmmm, instead of calling it moderation, maybe just say you’re planning your drinking events!
-
Who knew about sauerkraut for after drinking? I knew that fermented foods were good for you, but I would never have thought to have some after drinking! I love your comment about getting real with yourself…. And forgiving yourself. We should all give ourselves grace for stumbling.

Off to the gym for the first time in about three weeks-my back is finally, finally better! My weight is creeping up, as was my drink consumption Friday and Saturday nights. Coincidence? Methinks not. Oh, also a delicious Reuben, pickles and pasta two nights in a row certainly didn’t help!
-
1.5 drinks last night, but AF today! Psyched that I didn’t even want it. Just catching up to everyone’s posts. I love the encouragement here! So happy to be part of this wonderful group.
-
I’m in for February, and so happy to see you all! I am cheering you all on. Love and support to all those who have ill relatives, and going through the daily struggle. I’ve been on this thread since November 2011! So what’s that, a little over four years? I have to say, reining my drinking in January is really making me…

@tobinross so happy for you! I agree, staying on top of logging food truly makes a difference. I also love how committed you are to those early morning CrossFit workouts. They are no joke! Great idea to lay out your clothes, and to modify your schedule so you don’t have to find motivation at the end of a long day.…
