This news broke my heart yesterday! I'm done with 2016 as well. I want some good news for a change.

I like to mix it with pineapple chunks! OMG! YUMMY! o:)

The elliptical is my favorite machine as well and it tells me that I burn about 700 calories in about 65 minutes and that's really at a fast pace. Seems like it could be accurate based on the comments and since I like it, it's an easy way to get my heart rate up and really burn some serious calories. :)

That! ^^^ I live in the south and eat grits ALL the time and that's how I measure them.

I bought my husband a Fitbit Charge and he uses it everyday. I also have one but just bought an apple watch so I use that instead. My husband said it best when he said it may not be 100% accurate but it gives him an indication of his activity level and lets him know when he needs to step it up a little. JMO anyway.

You're doing great. Just log it and look to tomorrow as a new day and start over fresh. Your grand babies come first so enjoy the time you have with them.

Hello!

I agree. I usually do a vigorous elliptical workout and can burn about 600-625 in about 60 minutes for a total of about 4.5 - 4.75 miles and those are the calories the machine tells me I'm burning after entering my age and weight so 530 for 30 minutes seems really high.

To be a better example for my daughter, I cut out soda and diet sodas completely. I don't knock those who drink them but personally, I stick to water or unsweetened iced tea and feel good with that decision.

If you're here to lose weight long term and aren't looking for a quick fix, don't pay attention to small changes over short periods of time. We women fight with weight loss and weight gain daily, weekly and monthly but if you weigh yourself periodically and see a downward trend of loss, then you're making progress. Don't…

You shouldn't completely cut out sugar and sweets but curb your addiction to them. I love carbs and sweets and slowly began to cut back by first drinking more water or iced tea. That was a biggie. I loved sugary drinks but eliminating them had a big impact. I also try to eat more protein. It sounds like a huge change but…

Fantastic post! Merry Christmas to all!

I agree that genetics plays a huge part in loss in that area because I'm down almost 30 pounds and the girls fit MUCH better in my 40dd bras than they used to. I have another 30 lbs to go and notice a loss everywhere but since I'm from a family where everyone is too heavy, I know I'll never be a B cup but I may reduce…

Absolutely amazing. You are an inspiration.

I just log it and move on.

You guys can add me if you'd like. I love new friends.

Doing the math, losing 60 pounds by March will equate to an average of about 3 pounds per week which isn't possible unless you starve yourself and that's not advisable. 1 1/2 pounds per week is more reasonable if you completely changed your eating habits and were able to work out. Good luck to you.

I agree with Dylan and also think you should try to incorporate more protein and fiber. That was my problem and I ate WAY too many carbs but I try to find sneaky ways to eat more protein like greek yogurt, nuts and breakfast bars with protein it them. I also try to add more veggies by eating salads or even adding more…

I'll be 45 in December and with regular workouts and my steady weight loss, I have more energy than I did 10 years ago. BOOM!

Cakes, pies and cookies. Oh dear Lord, I can skip an entire meal just to have dessert. That's my biggest downfall but on the bright side, I've almost completely stopped drinking sodas and drink so much water, sometimes I feel like a fish.

Eat what you want as long as you have a caloric deficit and you will lose weight. The question is.....should you eat junk food and fast food....probably not often. IMO, the fat and sodium in fast food is not good to eat on a regular basis if you're trying to lose weight. I indulge, but I also drink plenty of water, eat…
